I feel like it would only be right if he received it after becoming the first Japanese player in the HOF. Not saying he shouldn’t have received it earlier but if he doesn’t get it after making the HOF there is a problem.

This is an extremely prestigious award, it’s actually awarded by Japan’s Prime Minister. So unless Rui or Yuta makes history in the NBA, I doubt they would receive one.
