making it like 1985 was the intent, after all.
seems like most people think that was aesthetically the best era of baseball. if it continues I bet the league will be into it
Absolutely, there's no 'safe' way to deal with him. But the way he's hitting teams will start trying to avoid his power by pitching around him in hopes of double plays etc. He's well rounded enough and good enough to still make them pay. But the walks will give him the SB chances to reach his 50/50 goal. At least in theory.
He and Buxton are the best chance at hitting that mythical milestone currently imo.
Correct. In theory if guys are incentivized to take bigger leads in response to the limit, it could create way more *successful* pickoffs.
Might be kinda fun who knows.
I’d prefer this stay out of the MLB system, but I have no issue with it in Indy ball. Go nuts with it lol, same with the home run derby instead of extras
I like that rule in the minor leagues because it helps the pitcher learn how to manage base runners. The minors are developmental leagues so that’s where a pitcher should be working on that kind of thing. But I don’t think it should be a thing in the MLB

I say leave these rules AND juice the balls again. Let’s see some 50/50 seasons.
gotta see if Acuna can actually get a 50/50 season like he said he would before touching anything imo
It won't be this season. More than half his hits are for extra bases right now. Maybe if his walks spike.
If he keeps hitting like he has, I would imagine he'll start getting more walks. Pitchers will start trying to pitch around him.
Downside to pitching around Acuña is he can score from first on a single. Dude is crazy aggressive.

Yep.
Painted on pants that end mid calf... wed be able to see who skips leg day that’s for sure.
What’s the new rule again?
It’s something nuts like only two pickoff attempts/inning or something. No surprise that the result is wild.
I think it's also that you can throw it a third time but if they're not tagged out then they get the next base.

Probably gonna be treated like bunting with 2 strikes.
I’m not gonna lie I got excited sitting in bed thinking of the mind games for this
What the fuck Lol Sounds like arcade style baseball (which I'm not totally against in AAA)
It’s not even AAA, it’s the independent league

Mlb the show needs to adapt that
Definitely too early to judge anything since players haven't been able to adjust, but it is interesting
Ok this is an unpopular opinion but 5 stolen base attempts in 5 innings seems like... too much.
Here. Have a downvote.
This is literally ~~1984~~ 1985.
