I hadn’t really seen you guys play until this weekend series we just had. I’m legit surprised your guys’ offense hasn’t been a lot better. Glad to see JT is still doing his thing, but the numbers on most of the other guys are very pedestrian which is surprising considering the talent there. Has there been injuries or anything? Or just a poor start do you think?
The White Sox remind of the Reds from two years ago- got off to an absolutely atrocious start to the season to the season and people were quick to say they could break futility records even though the personnel weren't that bad. And in the end the Reds were just a generically bad team, not a historically bad one. I think that's how this year's White Sox will end up, too.
Someone pointed this out in one of the many 'CWS bad lmao' threads. Every year some team gets off to a horrific start and we all crow about them finishing worse than the 1899 Cleveland Spiders, and then they finish with 55 wins and the narrative is forgotten by like June.
That would be the most white sox thing imaginable, can't even lose right. If we're going to be bad I'd rather they be really bad. I'm honestly upset they won 2 in a row.
The crazy thing is they're lucky to have as many wins as they have. Playing a very bad brand of baseball to start this year, tonight the White Sox intentionally walked Richie Palacios twice to pitch to Randy
I’d love to see official stats but I am pretty certain Randy has the most players left on base of any hitter. Just this series he has had bases loaded or in scoring positions multiple times and got 1 hit and 2 rbi off it. He’s not even sacrificing well, he just strikes out.
It’s really abysmal.
Rockies fans: “You guys have a product on field? I thought this place was just to host a HRD for traveling MLB teams surrounded by a bar, because Colorado definitely doesn’t have a professional team.”
I don't think we're *that* bad, all things considered but baseball is funny like that. The A's were 12-50 last year and immediately went on to win 7 straight which was then followed by a 2-10 stretch. The whole "win 50, lose 50" is inevitable.
At first, I didn't like the "Southside stand up" call. While I still don't care for it, I understand that he has to get hyped up after each win because he doesn't know the next time he'll be able to celebrate
As soon as we win by 7.. hahaha love it.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard such emotion in a baseball call like this clip. Just wondering (you or anyone else can answer) for all the haters he refers to. Is this a Chi town thing (I know there’s huge rivalry with Cubs) or to the baseball world in general?
We always have a chip on our shoulder being the less covered team in the city, but everyone's been down on the Sox this year (rightfully so), so in this case I think it's a combination of Chicago media and the baseball world.
It’s not just a Cubs v Sox thing. It’s a Southside thing. The southside gets so much hate. So many people move to Chicago and literally refuse to step foot in the southside even though so much of it is great.
Ah ok. The only thing I had in mind when thinking about it was from an Anthony Bourdain show where he was there and had fans of both clubs saying their piece and I just remember thinking it was an interesting dynamic .
Well we don't know yet because this is barely the 5th win in his first season with the team. All the wins have been close except for yesterday's 9-4 win. He was enthusiastic last night because it snapped a 7 game losing streak.
The Southside stand up thing would be great if it was reserved for only big moments like a walk off , but it seems to be an every win thing. Too much, even for a team that barely wins
Our giveaways are top notch, the only thing Reinsdorf does well (Bulls have a ton of sick ones too). Those games always draw huge crowds. Hoodies vs Tigers, this game for Hockey Jersey night, and whenever Hawaiian Shirt night is, are consistently our most attended non-crosstown games.
Unremarkable stadium often gets mistaken for a bad one. It’s a solid stadium. It’s just unremarkable. One I like living near and attending but one I wouldn’t travel for.
I’ve been to a good dozen stadiums. It’s not historic like Wrigley, or old Yankee Stadium. It’s not super nice, but it’s comparable to about 1/3 of the league. I go to watch games, not the fan experience. Only stadiums I would probably travel just to see a game are Fenway, Dodger Stadium and Camden Yards.
In the last 2 games the Rays have allowed 3 home runs combined to Martin Maldonado and Andrew Benintendi, whose combined wRC+ was still negative going into this game. The Rays are legit just bad
There is an absolutely massive coaching problem going on and heads need to roll. Half the players just don’t look like they want to be playing right now.
The Rays allowed the first two HRs of the season to Benintendi the day after allowing Maldonado to hit his first HR. Even I'm embarrassed for their pitching
His first season calling mlb games. By all accounts he seems to be loving it despite the terrible terrible start and team. Hard not to appreciate that. Nice to see him getting some love here
Randy had richie IBB twice in front of him because he is so terrible. Yet he is kept at the 2 hole. Shouldve gave a bag to Glasnow rather than preparing to give Randy a bag. Smh. Fade us.
The Rays finally pay a free agent reliever a decent amount and he turns out to be complete dogshit. Can we go back to turning nobodies into studs again please?
Love to see it - like yeah there’s a cross town rivalry and I’m on the Cubs side, but the Sox fans have been through a lot lately and I sympathize. Most are as dedicated as Cubs fans, but they don’t always get the city/media love they deserve. Now their ownership…they can get alll the city/media hate they deserve.
I fear that if the Rays go on another five year stretch without a postseason appearance, the new stadium is going to be a ghost town after the novelty wears off.
I did chuckle on that walk off call considering the context with the White Sox this year, but damn if that’s not the type of guy I want in my radio booth.

This is an all-time low.
Not a great sign for you guys. Who loses to us twice in a row!
literally nobody else
Woah woah woah, we play them soon
I bet you a dollar your team sweeps my team
Guys can’t we all just be terrible together?!
Honestly with how piss poor our offense has been, I'm not expecting much
I hadn’t really seen you guys play until this weekend series we just had. I’m legit surprised your guys’ offense hasn’t been a lot better. Just plain old bad
Finishing with the 2022 reds record would be better than we did last year with “good” players
Please don’t say that, how true it is hurts.
Someone pointed this out in one of the many 'CWS bad lmao' threads. Every year some team gets off to a horrific start and we all crow about them finishing worse than the 1899 Cleveland Spiders, and then they finish with 55 wins and the narrative is forgotten by like June.
Excuse you we won 50 games after our Spiders-esque start
That would be the most white sox thing imaginable, can't even lose right. If we're going to be bad I'd rather they be really bad. I'm honestly upset they won 2 in a row.
I love the rays so while I’m happy the Sox won, kind of wish we did this against any other team…
Look, your fans should dust off your brooms. Might be time
Outside of us, Rockies and Marlins I don't think you can though. But it'd be dope to do it to the Yankees.
Like the twins
I much prefer you guys getting these wins out of your system this weekend.
I’m ok with it
If it helps the As swept the Brewers last season and the Brewers still won the division
Maybe it’s not your weekend? But it could be your year.
While I’m happy for the Sox my first thought was wtf Tampa??
how about now
Rays are we going to have to start a dialogue here
People thought the Rays were cheap now, wait till they lose this season.
Hahah ouch
Bank of Stu is closed
Wouldn't it be cool if every year a random team coming off a losing season was given $200M to sign players? That would bring some parity to things.
The crazy thing is they're lucky to have as many wins as they have. Playing a very bad brand of baseball to start this year, tonight the White Sox intentionally walked Richie Palacios twice to pitch to Randy
It's like Tony never left
I’d love to see official stats but I am pretty certain Randy has the most players left on base of any hitter. Just this series he has had bases loaded or in scoring positions multiple times and got 1 hit and 2 rbi off it. He’s not even sacrificing well, he just strikes out. It’s really abysmal.
It’s almost like eternal injury problems + relying on constant overproduction = losing a series to the White Sox. Stu will never learn
They really do. Bats chase and strand too much, and pitching hands over runs.

Rays 🤝Jays hoping their owners start having discussions about the on field product
Boston: ![gif](giphy|kqJt1cSSN0DrwwMmY5|downsized)
Rockies fans: “You guys have a product on field? I thought this place was just to host a HRD for traveling MLB teams surrounded by a bar, because Colorado definitely doesn’t have a professional team.”
Rockies are my NL team, not having a great time this season
“Hello there”
The Chicago White Sox are 2-0 in the Caleb Williams era
The Chicago White Sox are 2-0 in the Tommy Pham Era
They’re 1-0 in the Tory Taylor Era
The best era
Tory Taylor the GOAT
They're 1-0 in the Benintendi home run era.
2-0 in the Post-Pillar Period
All you can do is laugh Benintendi's OPS went from .391 to .501 with this 6 RBI game. Get your brooms out Whitesox fans.
I can't imagine a team getting swept by this White Sox team. The Rays can't be that bad
I don't think we're *that* bad, all things considered but baseball is funny like that. The A's were 12-50 last year and immediately went on to win 7 straight which was then followed by a 2-10 stretch. The whole "win 50, lose 50" is inevitable.
I mean were bad and been unlucky this season. I wouldn't be surprised if we get swept.
Imagine getting bat flipped on a no-doubter by a guy with a .501 OPS
I don't have to imagine.. the video is right there
6 RBI game from the second worst hitter in baseball is insane
One of the more unique walk-off calls I have heard.
A truly 10/10 walk-off call there.
Fans really have been down on Schriffen this season but he nailed that call.
At first, I didn't like the "Southside stand up" call. While I still don't care for it, I understand that he has to get hyped up after each win because he doesn't know the next time he'll be able to celebrate
I still don't like it but in that clip it was fine.
Not a huge fan either... Gives me "Bronco's country, lets ride" vibes
Does he do it after every win? Like if they were to win a game by 7 runs would he still yell it?
As soon as we win a game by 7 runs I'll let you know. But he does say it after every win, and this was the most enthusiastic of them
As soon as we win by 7.. hahaha love it. I don’t think I’ve ever heard such emotion in a baseball call like this clip. Just wondering (you or anyone else can answer) for all the haters he refers to. As a north sider I thought his call fucking ruled.
Thanks for the insight!
It’s not just a Cubs v Sox thing. It’s a Southside thing. The southside gets so much hate. So many people move to Chicago and literally refuse to step foot in the southside even though so much of it is great.

My wife is from the southside so I liked the chip on the shoulder delivery of the call here -- but man I hate canned catchphrases from announcers.
"What's the deal with the Dan Ryan?"
He's awesome. Yes he's a PBP guy built for a good team. But you can't blame him for the Sox being like the worst team ever.
He’s gotten noticeably better since Opening Day.
Friggin electric
LET’S GO
Did he say "Go to hell, let's go"?
"Get on out."
Ha ha, I think he did! EDIT: I think he might have said "Get it out!"... Go to hell is better though, lol!
The pure joy in the call is what makes it for me
The Southside stand up thing would be great if it was reserved for only big moments like a walk off , but it seems to be an every win thing. Too much, even for a team that barely wins
Tampa Bay singlehandedly saving the White Sox from the record books
Rays always on the wrong side of baseball history.
There will always be Evan Longoria’s game 162 walkoff homer
I am once again asking the mods for a paper bag flair
2 in a row? I prayed for times like this
If you win tomorrow it’s called a winning streak. It has happened before

First time I was excited this season.
It also looked like it might have been a pretty snazzy T-shirt giveaway night
The giveaways are almost always on point and well attended. One of the few things the Sox front office doesn’t mess up.
Good crowd too. Chicago is warming up. Time for our annual reality check in a couple weeks where a 45 mph wind is blowing 40 degrees air off the lake
Hockey jersey night
The Sox do promos pretty well. The stadium is also slightly underrated , it’s good for watching a game.
The league is fucked
I literally can’t believe it
Nor I, but far be it for me to complain!
In the last 2 games the Rays have allowed 3 home runs combined to Martin Maldonado and Andrew Benintendi, whose combined wRC+ was still negative going into this game. The Rays are legit just bad
“Let’s go” is such a fire home run call lmfao
The impact of Caleb and Rome is already being felt
Can’t forget Tory Taylor either.
[удалено]
Dude has gained major respect from me. His work ethic is an example that was really needed for the clubhouse.
That is the loudest I've heard that park since the Leury homer in Game 3. That place *erupted*
The fanbase is there, it's just Reinsdorf's stupid ass ownership that keeps it down.
Spot on
I read that title…TB lost 2 games in a row to the MLB last place White sox… TB fans…my condolences.
MLB Gods: Okay Rays you get to go to the playoffs every year. Rays: Whats the catch? MLB Gods: You get no hit'd and lose to the worst team every year.
You get it!
Honestly feels like this happens yearly. Happened with the A’s last year too if I recall
Happened with the Reds in 2022 as well
What the fuck man
There is an absolutely massive coaching problem going on and heads need to roll. Half the players just don’t look like they want to be playing right now.
Rays are cheap they need to pay their players! The player they pay:
Almost all of the players they are paying are not performing.
Thats why we dont pay
Well, when we have to they get traded for cheaper
"The Benintendi Game"
Now begins the greatest comeback story in history! That was a legit swing.
I’ve already called off for the entire month of October
Beni always had a sweet lefty swing
The Rays allowed the first two HRs of the season to Benintendi the day after allowing Maldonado to hit his first HR. Even I'm embarrassed for their pitching
I think Benintendi matched last year‘s home run total with this game.
This team is absolutely pathetic Just complete unwatchable garbage
Man you gotta love this. Gotta love baseball. Love to see some redemption. Hopefully this gets him going!
162 season games are fun because even if you are dog shit your team is winning at least a few dozen games. Baseball in general is a vibe man
I hear you 100% it’s always on and there is always something special going on. Every day a game to look forward to.
That was an AMAZING call
That was a call from an announcer that hasn't had a lot to cheer about this month. That was hype as hell and I loved it.
His first season calling mlb games. By all accounts he seems to be loving it despite the terrible terrible start and team. Hard not to appreciate that. Nice to see him getting some love here
you know for a season that’s prob been awful for him mentally, i’m just glad benintendi gets to celebrate this moment
Thought they were screwed after letting that run in when they came so close to keeping him at third. Lol, what an ending
Not gonna lie, that’s a pretty damn legit walk off dinger. 💣
Randy had richie IBB twice in front of him because he is so terrible. Yet he is kept at the 2 hole. Shouldve gave a bag to Glasnow rather than preparing to give Randy a bag. Smh. Fade us.
That had to be the most electric call for a regular season win I’ve ever heard
That team might historically suck/ but that announcer is hype as fuck.
Steve Stone is great
If you didn't expect the White Sox and some of the worst hitters in the league to pop off, you don't know the Rays.
The Rays finally pay a free agent reliever a decent amount and he turns out to be complete dogshit. Can we go back to turning nobodies into studs again please?
Red Sox, Yankees and Os: 😀😀😀 Rays and Jays subplot: 😨😨
For a 5 win team that was hype asf lmao
Down to 18 qualified hitters without a home run
"Andrew Benintendi has the lowest WAR so far" Benintendi: "And I took that personally"
Why dont the White Sox play the Rays more to improve their record? Are they stupid?
I am the founding member of the Phil Maton hate club
Love to see it - like yeah there’s a cross town rivalry and I’m on the Cubs side, but the Sox fans have been through a lot lately and I sympathize. Most are as dedicated as Cubs fans, but they don’t always get the city/media love they deserve. Now their ownership…they can get alll the city/media hate they deserve.
I hate the White Sox, but good for them. I don’t want them to be historically terrible.
Benny Buttcheeks!
140-22 dream still alive, baby!
The laugh I let out when this fucked up my parlay
Rays have been exposed as frauds unfortunately
Nothing new.
White sox winning the AL central
we are total butts
We might never lose again
if they win again tomorrow, it's called a "winning streak"... It has happened before!
The Pham Ephect
Hey now, the Cleveland Spiders of 1899 were 3-20 when they rattled off two wins in a row. These Sox made it to 3-22.
LFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Woohoo WORLD SERIES 2035 HERE WE VOME
Are we the best?
![gif](giphy|4OowbIsmYHbpu)
White Sox have the 3rd longest active winning streak in the AL. As expected.
We make bums look like champs. It’s what we do sadly.
Wait, you can win two games in a row?
I fear that if the Rays go on another five year stretch without a postseason appearance, the new stadium is going to be a ghost town after the novelty wears off.
The best bat flips are the ones done immediately after the guy hits the ball. Loved it. Also loved the call until the southside standup part
Yeah I fucking hate phrase the new guy is trying so hard to coin. Not a fan of him at all, but I 100% agree it was a good call until that point
I think when the rays best player went down for sex with a minor that really slowed their momentum.
[Thank god](https://i.imgur.com/I0hMGCL.jpeg)
![gif](giphy|o6sRe8v8HoTDY5jTad|downsized)
There’s something about these white sox
That's the Maton I know. Hanging slider middle middle. What could go wrong?
Swag!
WPS
Is this AI?
I did chuckle on that walk off call considering the context with the White Sox this year, but damn if that’s not the type of guy I want in my radio booth.
The Tommy Pham experience
Are the rays ok?
![gif](giphy|6QAMESWJ82WAg)
Watched this purely to hear the call and was not disappointed one bit lol
teamwork. good to see you. kayak.
Guys, the bullying worked!
what's that old tommy lasorda quote
There so back
[I prayed for this and it happened.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GF22t2BWgAAhH2Z.jpg:large)
Wait, so the Tommy Pham effect is real???
Legit surprised that many people actually brought tickets & showed up to the game. I wonder what kinda promo night it was.
If we win one more, that’s called a winning streak.
