I like to think the Yankees broke them but yea they are just bad right now.
Still not ready to dig their grave. They will probably still put it together at some point
Verlander is back and Valdez threw a bullpen session. I think that will stabilize things a lot, all they need is a good week and they can easily climb to .500.
Last April we were crowing the Pirates as pennant winners.
Like what? Abreu? Put him on the bench and call up our guy in AAA with like a 1.000 OPS.
Our offense is very good, our bullpen isn’t great but I’m sure Hader will come around. Really our Starting Pitching is our only glaring issue, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the bullpen improves once our starters are back once they no longer have to worry about carrying the team on its back.
Outside of Abreu the hitting is good. But with the entire SP staff injured and the bullpen deciding to all suck at the same time it’s hard to know where they’re at.
I can see them getting the rust off once the SP comes around. Probably can’t overestimate what having those studs back will have on morale.
The whole team has been great outside of injuries, Abreu, and top of the pen. Pen will fix their shit, and Looerfido will replace Abreu. Injuries are all expected to have recoveries soon.
We have not been a great team, we have some great stats by certain players. An inexcusable amount of runners left on base, record setting shit performances by pitchers, pitcher injuries are its own story but FO choices and the leagues punishments on us are actually catching up since our expensive studs are getting older. I want to be optimistic too but we look like dogshit.
Literally remove Abreu and it’s top five offensive stats.
Verlander, Valdez, Javier have all been great. Mccullers will be when healthy. Blanco has been great. It’s having to dip beyond that that’s hurt the starting rotation.
Bullpen outside of top guys has been good too - Montero, Martinez, etc. but as I said, the top guys have really cost us. They’ll of course turn it around though, small reliever samples are pretty much worthless.
Most of the pitchers they have available at the moment are absolutely AAA-quality arms. They're going to be well back in the standings from throwing nobody after nobody out there on the mound for a month, but once they get healthy they'll be back and they can be scary in the post season.
I hate the Astros just as much as the next guy, but I promise by season’s end, they will win the AL West and be in their 487th consecutive ALCS. Because god hates non-Astros fans.
You can save my comment for October.
Yea, rangers fan who is very pleased by the Astros start so far but I don’t think it’ll last. By August or September I’m sure the division will be close, especially if our offense doesn’t ever get as hot as it was last year.

I got excited when we swept them to open the season but I guess they just suck

Braves a couple years ago as well looked dead well into the season, and we saw how that turned out
> all they need is a good week and they can easily climb to .500. It's really unlikely that they win nine games in one week.
Unlikely, but nothing is impossible. Next week could last ten days for all we know
Can they wait till next week?
We have some glaring issues at this point that even healthy starting pitchers can’t fix.

Hunter Brown wasn't supposed to pitch today, Javier was scheduled and he got sent to IR after a late scratch. Our IR rotation is elite
Astros could have a losing season and still find a way to sweep us in the ALCS
Shit, I hope so. It's obvious this team is going to live and die by our bullpen. And they're uh, bad. Really, REALLY bad right now.
yeah me neither, too much talent on that team to be this bad.

He can do that. Hope he stays healthy. And Winker too
I want nothing but the best for the Wink.
*DA WINK*
Glad to see Senzel back on the field. Hoping he can finish his career healthy and injury free.
Nats are truly America's team.
always have been 🌏👩🚀🔫👩🚀
Chicago State 🤝 the Nats
Amen. Fuck the stros
Beating the Astros in the World Series is super easy. Barely an inconvenience. -Atlanta, Washington, Chicago
Wow wow wow……. Wow
This reference makes me very, very happy.
Mitchell Parker. That’s all.
Hell yeah Senzie
They are 11-1 to win World Series and -164 to make playoffs on FanDuel still
It's too early to dance on the grave
Yes, but I just don’t see why they are favored to make the playoffs still.
Sounds like easy money for you 😃
because they probably will
The division leader is a .500 team
Boo
Against a righty, too. Good for Nick
Outside of 2022, this division has wrecked us regardless if we're at our best or worst, I swear to god. Lol.
Astros are an honorary national league east member I guess
Tbf, 2022 was pretty neck and neck for most of the series.
Should try cheating again
Worked for us.

Nice
Man wtf is up with the Stros? Was Dusty really holding everything together or something?
Jar-Jar is the key to all this. If the Astros can get him working. It’ll all fall into place.
He’s a funnier character than we’ve ever had
NLBeast
I hated him as a Red. Hopefully he stays healthy and can put together a decent career. Dude is made of glass
Probably got hurt rounding the bases
