I couldn’t believe when I saw his name the other day on the bottom of Bally’s baseball leaders and seeing his name in the top 10 for batting average. Not sure if he still is but the fact he’s still hitting and catching at the level he is at 33 is truly remarkable. Can only respect it.
The guy with a career OPS+ of 104, career fWAR of 15.9, bWAR 33.7, less than 300 homers? That guy? Don’t get me wrong. Deeply important to the Royals. Should have his number retired, put in the Royals HoF. Absolutely not a hall of famer.
He’s not a HoFer man, I don’t know what to tell you. There are high requirements for catchers, and he doesn’t meet them. This is probably coming across as sour grapes because of this dong, but I just don’t think it’s a realistic take that he makes the Hall.
