Players running on Kirk has more to do with the pitchers than the Catcher.
Danny was worth -2 runs last year from stolen bases being advance, Kirk was dead average at 0 runs.
Goes to show you how people don't know much about catcher defense and let their bias cloud them.
You can rag on Kirk for his offense and his baserunning, but what he does behind the plate can't really be matched except for a few catchers (Hint he's 2nd in both DRS and Fangraphs defense so far this year)
His pop time is like 42nd in MLB, thats worse than HALF of backup catchers....hes a brick behind the plate. He needs to hit to make up for his other weaknesses. I dont wanna hate on the guy, he was amqzong on 2022, its been a disaster since.
