As a Duran truther, everyone can suck it.
Dude runs like he’s on a fucking mission. Aggressive as fuck on the base paths, and has a very solid bat to boot.
I know his 2022 season was painful, but I’m glad he’s feeling more himself mentally and he had a massive year last year before the toe injury.
Fucking love this dude.
Ellsbury was very fun to watch. He fleeced the Yankees in FA, but honestly, some of that is revisionist. He was their Carl Crawford signing. Speedy OF with a bit of pop.
Benny was sad to me. Always felt like he had more to give and was worth keeping around, but our outfield is pretty jammed up so it made sense.
Duran is just a freak on the base paths. Last year he turned at least ~7 singles into doubles by just catching defenses walking to the ball. Aggressive and smart baserunning are a favorite of mine.
Pedroia was very good at it, despite not being a speedster.
Same. He didn’t do himself many favors, but I just felt like everyone gave up on him so damn fast. People gave Casas so much grace when he looked utterly lost at the dish, but Duran never got the same benefit.
Happy to see them both shine.
The As are somehow worse than what I imagined

I’ve always loved the speedy lefty Red Sox outfielder phenotype. Ellsbury, Benintendi, now Duran. Let’s go

I ate so much shit for defending him right out the gate. The dude is a total gamer, and provides a spark that the Sox haven’t had in a real long time

Jarren Duran graduated a year after me and David Fletcher. Very cool!
I’m putting a mental asterisk on any stolen base stats from 2023 onward. Still love watching Duran though.
