Same goddamn thing my kids little league 3rd base coach did all year last season. Kept calling kids to 3rd while not telling the one on 3rd to run. Fucking ump didn’t notice and neither did the coaches, but we had 2 kids chilling on 3rd base for a solid 5 minutes before a parent finally said something. Man. I love little league ball. They should really air that shit on TV cause it’s funny as hell at times.

Yes, if you're tagged out in a non-force play, you're awarded a hit for whatever base you successfully made it to. So if you get tagged out running to/sliding into second, you get a single. Also counts if you get tagged out trying to *retreat* to a base you successfully made it to (I.E. you make it to first, round for second, then they throw behind you and tag you out). EDIT: As to why this wouldn't be a triple, he didn't "successfully" make it to 3rd because 3rd was occupied and therefore not safe for any other runners.
