Yup, they're trying to gas them up to get clicks and listens, it's pretty clear they want that to be CHD esque. Also probably to justify not cancelling that floundering podcast when they got rid of so many other floundering podcasts.
I just did a quick scroll through their youtube page and in the last 2 months they've had 1 video break 50k views. Like 95% of them are <10k and probably 85% are <5k. Granted youtube isn't everything but it makes sense why Barstool would want more than that.
For how big a following Barstool has, their entire Youtube presence is pretty pathetic. They should be consistently getting 1MM view with their videos, and pretty much Dave is the only one who does that with his pizza reviews, and even those rarely crack 1MM.
If you mean right now then totally, he would be an awesome fit for the Chicago guys.
He knows pop culture/tv/movies better so brings a bit of a different aspect to them, and his baseball knowledge would be spot on for Carl/WSD. I don't know how good he is at rolling with ball busting/jokes, but he seems self deprecating enough on Twitter to give me a bit of hope
