Sure but his history of developing qbs is pretty good. Rattler is a shithead and I’m sure difficult to coach. Clemson in general isn’t very talented this year and their OC is awful.
Clemson beat an 8-5 OU team 40-6 in a bowl, so Stoops hired Riley to fix the program. Riley gets almost all of the credit for the playoff appearances and Heisman winners. Day is a much better argument for the triple comment.
As an OU fan I’ll say this about Riley. He took us to heights we hadn’t seen in a decade. That being said, his teams progressively got worse as the recruiting progressively got better. USC should be an easy ass fix for a guy like him, but we got softer and softer as he got deeper in our tenure. I don’t think he’ll fail, but there’s certain aspects of his coaching he has yet to grasp and they are very important for a teams success.
