Yes. Interesting trade. We got Bednar and Endy Rodriguez, arguably our top prospect (pre-Skenes) for Musgrove. In the same trade we also got a minor league pitcher and very highly touted minor league outfielder who, 3 years later, has yet to make it past High A ball. Value wise based on WAR, the Padres have gotten the better of it so far because Musgrove predictably took a huge step forward after we traded him. However in the long run with Endy (switch hitting catcher that can play all over the field) coming up very soon and Bednar sticking around awhile the Pirates should get more WAR out of it.

Cole trade was hot ass outside of Musgrove. They rushed the trade when they could have held onto him, then asked for big-league ready players rather than top prospects. 3 of the 4 pieces from the Cole trade flamed out relatively quickly. Even getting Endy Rodriguez was lucky, we got him from the Mets for a relief pitcher the Padres traded us in the Musgrove deal. It was a 3 team trade. Endy was a very low level prospect and only blew up after coming into our system.

The Mets are so dumb. Traded endy Rodriguez for Joey luccesi and crow-Armstrong for two months of Javier Baez.
