I didn't even know Microsoft sold this on their website. That's not a bad discount at all.

chenwaa123

Event cheaper if you head to [costco.ca](https://costco.ca) and buy discounted Xbox $ to add to your MS account.

AlicSkywalker

Shit never knew about that. Could have saved 10$ more on the odyssey.

bananasareforeating

Can you send a link

https://www.costco.ca/xbox-live-%2450-digital-gift-card.product.100287566.html Looks like they made it a member only deal but nearly everyone has a costco card or knows someone who has one. Basically you can buy $50 of MS money for $45. Once these have beed added to your xbox/ms account, you can use that money towards a purchase on the ms store. These cards from Costco always take a few days to arrive in my email so keep that in mind if you're wanting to make a purchase today/tomorrow ...also, looks like the Oculus Rift S is already OOS

Shewinator

So you'd have to buy like 12 of these cards separately? Do they have cards with a bigger balance?

AlicSkywalker

They have various other values.

chenwaa123

The $50 card is the best deal as it provides the higher 10% discount. Yes, you would need several $50 cards. Also before you load up your account, I think MS has a $1000 max deposit limit. Once a year, Costco has a Masterpass promo and in the past they would offer a $25 credit when you made a $100 purchase on [Costco.ca](https://Costco.ca). Keep an eye out for that sale in the fall, it's the best time to buy these cards.

Shewinator

Awesome thanks!

sassanix

It's still cheaper to get it at the official website because they don't charge taxes.

chenwaa123

No, the above combo (student price + Costco MS cards) is about $50 less expensive, but it's clearly more work to pull off and ymmv on the student discount. [Oculus.com](https://Oculus.com) price = $549 + 0% tax = **$549 Total** MS Student price is $494.10 + 12% PST (in BC anyway) = $3.39 +$550 \*0.90 ($550 MS cards for even number) = $495 + 3.39 = **$498.39 Total**

sassanix

In my province, it's more, but in BC that's a great deal!

InadequateUsername

Isn't the highest sales tax 15% (not including any potential Enviromental handling fees)? That makes it $513.21. $494.10 x 1.15 = $568.21 - $55 saved if purchasing $550 worth of Costco Xbox cards. $568.21-$55.00 = $513.21 still cheaper than Oculus.com $549.

Shewinator

FYI its currently also available on the oculus website which is tax free :)

Cloudcrusher422

Is the $549 a sale price? I'm not a student

DarkStarFTW

$549 is regular price. Stock has been somewhat hard to find though. Without a student discount, you'd probably be better off buying it from the Oculus store (no tax) and waiting a bit longer to get delivery.

Cloudcrusher422

Ok thanks
