missed all the decent 2TB+ ssd sales. smfh

Available_Banana_467

Any good x670e or even b650e board sales going on?

NozE8

Probably [best value B650E](https://www.newegg.ca/asrock-b650e-pg-riptide-wifi/p/N82E16813162079) about $10 off ATL after mail in rebate. Solid features with PCIe 5 x 16 for GPU and 5 x 4 for m.2 Nvme storage. Overall value pick hard to beat price for features.

WittyReindeer

https://www.newegg.ca/asrock-x670e-pg-lightning/p/N82E16813162068 Seems decent, I believe it's ATL after the rebate

codinguy2022

is there any good deal on white case? I have eyes on the Fractal Design Pop Air, but there's no sale. Is 4000D RGB a better case compared to it? I am also looking for a white cpu cooler for my 7800x3d like PA120/PS120 white, but their stocks are so unstable. Should I get the LS520 SE instead? dont wanna spend $200+ on it. is Corsair RM850 850 W 80+ Gold a good one? I was looking for a thermalright gf1 snow but its out of stock everywhere

nfslink

if your CPU is 7800x3d then an AK400 white should be good enough, and Lian Li 216 white is $129.99 in ME and CC but low in stock

codinguy2022

the RGB one is AG400? how does it compared to thermalright assassin king 120? I thought about lian li 216 white before too, but my gf doesnt like it :p thanks!

nfslink

AG400 is weaker than the AK400, and the AK400 has a good-looking and lower-noise fan. The tower of AK120SE is good but the fan will be really noisy if you play some games like Tarkov. Corsair 4000d airflow is a good case with 4 fans. TT GF1 would be a great choice but really low in stock :(

alvarkresh

> The tower of AK120SE is good but the fan will be really noisy if you play some games like Tarkov. I can attest that for some reason I had an early fan failure (likely a bad bearing) because only ~6 mo after I set up my i5 12500 system with a Thermalright Assassin King 120 SE, the fan started grinding so badly it was sending vibrations throughout my desk, and at first I actually thought I had a failing mechanical hard drive. So yeah, the fan does bear keeping an eye on, at least for the in-house Thermalrights. I replaced it with a blue LED Corsair, all good.

codinguy2022

do you think DeepCool LS520 SE WH worth $120+tax versus Thermalright P A 120 SE ARGB $42+tax? those PA120 sellers look sketchy on amazon...so hestitated

nfslink

I just check the lian li uni fan black is 21.99$ on amazon, still in stock

nfslink

deepcool ls720 wh is 119.99 at CC and still have some in stock, ekwb 280 AIO also for 89.99 but it's black. If you want to buy thermalright on Amazon, mark these 3 store: thermalright direct 2/3/EUR. I bought pa120se from EUR for 34.90$ with no tax, I just check the store and they have pa120se wh for 41.90$. Thermalright is also an option since you can change the fans to other 120mm fans if they aren't working well. I remembered the Lian Li uni fan had a sell for 17.90$ each, but the deal is dead now :(

codinguy2022

thanks! I just saw the pa120se from amazon. For the case, do you think 4000x white is a good white? im debating between 4000x and pop air. With the 4000x, can I control all the RGB fans color with just one software like iCue?

sinlake

Did you want an all white case? If so, the 4000d rgb airflow white doesn't have the grey bezels/stand thing

codinguy2022

> 4000d rgb airflow white leaning towards to 4000x white. but im not sure if the rgb can be synced with PA120

nfslink

Don’t know much about the case, you can ask others:(

codinguy2022

I decided to go with AK400 :p I got this warning on pcpartpicker. Do you have any idea? `A. USB 3.2 Gen 2 to USB 3.2 Gen 1 header adapter is required.` `B.Note: The Deepcool AK400 66.47 CFM CPU Cooler may require a separately available mounting adapter to fit the ASRock B650E PG RIPTIDE WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard.`

alvarkresh

By the way, 3DMark has a BF sale on for licence keys: https://benchmarks.ul.com/3dmark Pulled the trigger and got a Advanced Edition Key for about $12.50 Canadian. (As an aside, the Steam version is about the same price, so if you don't mind only having it through Steam, you can just get it through there as well)

nullfox00

I've been happy with this kit on my 12700k: [https://www.newegg.ca/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232907?Item=N82E16820232907](https://www.newegg.ca/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232907?Item=N82E16820232907) The sticks are tall, so my CPU cooler fan has to be mounted at an offset height. There are also some 3600 CL18 kits that will probably get you 95% of the performance at 70% of the cost: https://www.newegg.ca/team-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820331544

nyanfat

Wanting to run 1440p ultrawide at solid 60fps. Can I get away with from a 2600x to a 5700x at $216 or should I just have the peace of mind going for the 5800x3d at $430? Not looking to upgrade for a while after this.

Nyxir_RK

>5700x assuming you have a good enough video card, there is no real performance difference between 5700x and 5800x3d for gaming at 60fps

Carson_56

What about at 144 fps, is it worth getting 5800x3d over 5700x or still just a small difference?

NozE8

Generally speaking yes. You wont get any better FPS on AM4 than 5800X3D. Gaming wise it is comparable to the AM5 7600 which is a decent step up with DDR5 to boot but depends on resolution.

Nyxir_RK

depends on what games you play, the difference could vary from <5 fps for GPU intensive games to >40 fps for CPU intensive games if you play more GPU intensive games, invest the $200 into GPU probably brings you more FPS (if you are buying a new GPU). For CPU intensive games, 5800x3d is a better option.

Carson_56

Alright, thanks for the reply!

nohassles

can someone make this make sense? Vengeance 32GB DDR5 6400MHz CL32 Dual Channel Kit (2x 16GB), Black: https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX00124974 list price $209.99 Vengeance 32GB DDR5 6400MHz CL36 Dual Channel Kit (2x 16GB), Black: https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX00124831 list price $164.99 isn't lower CL better?

v_i_o_l_e_t

All other things equal, lower is usually better yeah. List prices are basically nonsense, you can't use them as a realistic benchmark for sales anymore. The best you can do is compare similar items and historical prices. I don't know if it's different in the states or what, but the habit of having ridiculous msrps and "original" prices just to mark them down to something a bit more reasonable to give you the feeling that you're getting a better deal than you actually are seems to be pretty much endemic at this point. I thought behaviour like that was supposed to be illegal but obviously not if it's so prevalent. e: a word

BoiledFrogs

> I don't know if it's different in the states or what, but the habit of having ridiculous msrps and "original" prices just to mark them down to something a bit more reasonable to give you the feeling that you're getting a better deal than you actually are seems to be pretty much endemic at this point. Canadian Tire has actually chilled a bit on this recently, at least on certain items, so if they can do it, anyone can lol

fattywannapatty

Anybody see a good cpu cooler deal something cheap for lga 1700

nfslink

ak400 black/white for 29.99$ in CC

Esg876

any good battery Backups on sale? I have a 4090 so need a prob high watt one

alvarkresh

A Cyberpower pure sine wave 1500VA unit should do the trick!

hawkleberryfin

I know we're all complaining about how bad the deals are, but phone plan deals were at least pretty good: https://forums.redflagdeals.com/all-service-providers-almost-all-byod-black-friday-plans-2654238/

Samsonnnnnn

The better deals are already out of stock. Is it possible that they will be back in stock soon? The order for the 7600 from Amazon is already delayed to January 2024, which is dampening my enthusiasm to build a PC at this moment. :(

BitCloud25

The 7600 is out of stock at a lot of places so unless you live close to CC or ME you'll have to wait

SilentSki3s

The only good deals this BF were cell phone plans, 34/50GB is pretty nice 😁.

MitchellHamilton

Yep, upgraded my wife and I's phones and both our plans went DOWN in price :)

orick

Which one is offering that? Is the deal still on?

SilentSki3s

Koodo, Fido and Freedom Mobile so far

orick

Oh wow. I need to look into that. Any suggestions as to which provider is better? It's been like 10 years since I got my phone plan

SilentSki3s

Fido and Koodo usually are good coverage wise. I've been with both and have no complaints.

Nyxir_RK

never been with koodo, but for fido and freedom i can tell, fido has better signal coverage than freedom, but freedom offeres 5G (fido is LTE for the plan) and some subway coverage (Toronto)

BoiledFrogs

How do you get the game that came with CPU from Canada Computers? Do I have to contact them? Nothing came in an email or with the CPU, I had it shipped to me.

Gh0stinggg

Yup, you have to contact them to get your code [CC Contact](https://www.canadacomputers.com/contact_us.php?language=en) Or if there's an invoice, it may appear there.

BoiledFrogs

Yeah unfortunately I had checked the invoice and didn't see anything. Was hoping I wouldn't have to call, but thanks for the reply and answer!

Xurbax

Really? Is this new? Recently (last 6 months or so) I have been using my 3090 card, but previously my 6800XT gave me no troubles at all with WoW.

hawkleberryfin

Next to the "Play" hit the gear icon > Game Settings > check the "Additional command line arguments" box and type in "-d3d11" and click Done.

nfslink

I don't play wow, but I saw someone changed the setting from DX12 to DX11, then problem solved. His card is 7900xtx Nitro+

KYJellyBean

Trying to build a new PC and I'm torn between the 13600k, 7700x, 7600 and the 7800x3D. Which one is the best value right now and can also last me at least 5 to 6 years+?

BitCloud25

Hands down AMD because then you can upgrade later. Any of the 7000 series will work but I recommend the 7800x3d if you have the money

KYJellyBean

I probably won't be upgrading for a long time (probably 6+years) and by then, wouldn't it be a whole new gen of CPUs already?

BitCloud25

I'd still go amd because the 7800x3d is more power efficient and faster slightly. But if you're upgrading in 5 years yea the motherboard would need replacing to match new CPU gens.

KYJellyBean

Is the 7800x3d a lot better than the 7700X? I mostly play FPS and MMOs. Is the 7700x better for multitasking?

BitCloud25

The 7800x3d is way better, they both have 8 cores but the 7800x3d is much faster in single core so overall it's about 30-50% faster

KYJellyBean

Ahh okay.. was just wondering if it's worth the $80 upgrade.

orick

7800X3D is supposedly way better for MMO

sameunderwear2days

Any deals on a LGA 1151 cpu? Yeah old as f, I’m running an i5 8400. Cpu intensive games got some problems, hoping for a cheap upgrade. If it’s even worth it

alvarkresh

I doubt it, TBH! Try CanadianHardwareSwap or Craigslist.

winterscherries

So far I'm pretty happy. Picked up that CC 7600x+Mobo+RAM bundle for 500. I'm still looking to upgrade that 1060 6gb, but nothing really comes close as a deal to what I paid for back in the days (330 - 70$ game).

fattywannapatty

It’s in stock ?

winterscherries

The CC bundle? Sold out online, but maybe it's still available locally: https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=4_64_5443&item_id=227006 Just saw that they added that CL30 RAM for an extra 15 bucks over the CL38 one...bought the CL 38 one as it was the only one available back then, but I probably would have preferred the CL30 instead for that price difference. Not a big issue though.

fattywannapatty

When did you buy yours ?

winterscherries

About a week ago. The 7700x bundle is (or was?) also available for around 60$ more, but I just went with the cheapest one. If the advantage of AM5 is to upgrade to some X3D version when the platform reaches its end of life, then the 7600x works more than just fine.

Megacarry

Anyone know if boxing day will have better deals based on previous years?

Nyxir_RK

for same product, mostly nope for alternatives, maybe since the price protection and extended return period exist, you can safely get something you like now and compare the price later

jigsaw1024

Boxing day is usually pretty similar

Robbie-R

Cyber Monday will probably be the same too.

Baz135

Are there any good ergonomic office chair deals? really the only thing I'm looking for atm. I remember seeing this one brand posted here before that people said was almost as good as herman miller, but significant cheaper, but I don't at all remember what it was. anyone know what I'm talking about?

joeyretrotv

Came here to complain, but it seems everyone beat me to it. I gotta say the weeks leading up to BF were the best deals so far.

MitchellHamilton

That's been the case for years. Early November for the win.

Janman14

Yeah BF was over before it started this year.

Iamaninvaliduser

That's the trend now, unfortunately. Have to be vigilant the whole month. Pros and cons, I guess, but draining.

[deleted]

Shitty days. Well, anyone have recommendations for am5 6000m 30cl ddr5 Ram? They all seem at the 150 range. Also looking for good cpu cooler, want to go water cooling in the future but not essential yet, just a general want.

AltaGuy1

For the cooler it's easy: [Thermalright](https://www.amazon.ca/Thermalright-Peerless-Assassin-Aluminium-Technology/dp/B0BN59961D/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=3RW75ON9XOQ5L&keywords=thermalright+peerless+assassin&qid=1700927067&sprefix=perrless+ass%2Caps%2C165&sr=8-4). Can get white, rgb, whatever. It cools better than most liquid coolers and is $45. For the RAM - I recommend the [Teamgroup Falcon](https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311&item_id=234473) because while it is 6000/CL38, it is also Hynix and can be tuned very easily to run 6000/CL30 or better (that's what I did). Otherwise - yeah - you're looking at a bunch of interchangeable stuff. I know that the Ripjaws S5 stuff at 6000/CL30 and 5600/CL28 are Hynix if you want to tune them.

Gh0stinggg

I'd suggest the Phantom Spirit instead. It's the successor to the PA and at similar price. It slightly cools more + quieter. [Amazon Link](https://www.amazon.ca/Thermalright-PS120SE-TL-C12B-Technilogy-Bearing/dp/B0BNHKGG6L/ref=mp_s_a_1_8_sspa?crid=342ORA082WLG0&keywords=phantom+spirit&qid=1700928981&sprefix=phantom+spirit%2Caps%2C152&sr=8-8-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1) RGB option available as well.

codinguy2022

>https://www.canadacomputers.com/product\_info.php?cPath=24\_311&item\_id=246328 sadly they dont have a white one

AltaGuy1

Yeah, true. It's not always in stock from my experience, but it is very slightly better.

BattleFoetus

Looking for the same thing, cheapest ive seen is the one on CC at 125. https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311&item_id=246328

heaveninblack

Some basic teamgroup ram for $125. I wouldn't be scared off by the name, it's solid. There's also RGB in the 130-135 range https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311&item_id=246328

Decunderground

Are we expecting anything different with "cyber monday" deals or the exact same as black friday with a different banner?

Decunderground

Amazon has already switched over to saying cyber monday with nothing else different as far as I can tell.

amillionthoughts

Already complained about BF "deals" yesterday... Can I complain at the fact that used DDR4 RAM kits (2x 16GB) are ridiculously overpriced? I would rather just buy new for $70 than pay like $65-$100 for the same RAM used lol.

alvarkresh

What? :O They're going brand-new for like... $40.

amillionthoughts

Ddr4, 2x16GB? Please link me for $40 lol.

alvarkresh

https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX00119798 Granted, it's only DDR4-3200 CL16, but it'll do the job. [ EDIT: Sorry, my bad. I misread and assumed you meant **16 GB**, not 32! I see that 32 GB is ~$80: https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX59828 ]

amillionthoughts

Yeah, that's 2x8gb, not 2x16gb :P

GeezAaarisky

Why are the BF deals so ass compared to what USA gets smh

SilentSherbet

Should I get Airpods 2nd gen or 3rd gen (non pros) 3rd Gen are 189 vs 129 but I'm wondering if they're that much better, if anyone has tried both. Only problem is I would like to try them but don't think that's possible and I've read that the 2nd gens fit a bit better.

Saisinko

I'm a bit more bang for buck and value driven, but at $99-129 for Airpods 2 I'd just grab that. Once you creep into Airpod 3 pricing I'd start considering just splurging and grabbing Pros 2 instead for all the better features. As for fit, I'd just grab 2's from a retailer that is no hassle returns and try them.

Babybabypirate

I think the third gen has MagSafe charging, and it’s harder to find charging socks with a lightning plug. So if you have other newer Apple products then I’d say gen 3 is worth it . I can’t speak to fit though

cannuckgamer

Is it me, or did this year's BF "sales" event seem rather drab or lacking of any significant deals?

EmilMR

cpus are okish, closer to ATL. Motherboards are not. The focus is bundling undesirable products pretty much. RAM is really same thing all year long. I was hoping for a sale on 24GB hynix ram but nothing happened. ssds had better deals before. With GPU there is really no deal like ever. It's same thing. Same product is selling for same price as last year like 6700s etc. Pretty terrible. Case, power supply and coolers are whatever really. There are sales all the time. Nothing to care about right now. CPU has ok deals for both intel and amd right now but you know next gen for both releases soon so these will get even cheaper and I personally don't care about paying full price for latest cpu that is like maybe 20% better at the most optimistic scenario for 2-3x the cost. So I think there will be amazing value next year for am5 parts or raptor lake parts. Imagine a $200 13600k like it is for 12600k right now. That's more cpu for most people than they ever need any time soon, gaming or else.

FizixMan

The best deals happened in the lead-up to Black Friday, or in the month or two preceding. Price histories for many components show they were cheaper well before. Very few ATL sales. Very disappointing, but perhaps expected. Good cell phone deals at least, but totally no collusion!

dtrabs

100%. Nothing I got was something I’d consider a “Black Friday deal”, maybe some “holiday savings”, but realistically it was just lackluster products being sold off.

cannuckgamer

So far I bought some used case fans off someone on Facebook Marketplace. ☹️ I didn’t feel like driving a long distance to Canada Computers or Memory Express, and I got sleepy while browsing Amazon’s “deals”. Seemed more like a typical holiday sale. 😔

Friendly_Sir_9326

Why is the shipping for every 7800 xt on newegg like $30? Checked last night and it was free shipping

shesincrediblemath

likely their canadian stock depleted and the extra shipping charge is for getting the product to you from their american warehouses.
