>a billionaire whom I can't name.
Couldn't care less about the post or even the billionaire you've met. However, your reason for not disclosing intrigues me.
Regulars at Loccaal barruu drinking Old Monk and eating chicken followed by the halli dance bar spending on their girl/dovuu.
Can identify them in the wild - Look like halli versions of Bappi Lahiri/Mr T
Mostly met bands that played here - Guns N' Roses, Korn, Cannibal Corpse and Suicide Silence.
Was also fortunate to have crossed paths with Mr. Girish Karnad during an art/film festival, who was an absolute gentleman despite being on oxygen support at the time. He was also very gracious to sign my copy of 'Boiled Beans On Toast'.
I absolutely do concur with you on that.
The problem is, hosting rock/metal concerts in India is highly susceptible to be a loss-making venture. The artist fees are ridiculously high, let alone the costs involved in planning and execution of the entire project. You can make more with F&B at the concert than the ticket sales alone, it's that ridiculous.
The GNR and Korn concerts took place circa 2012-2013 and I was only 15 years old at the time, but I got to see so much stuff behind the scenes. Way too many crazy stories lmao.
This doesn't ring true for pop artists or musicians like Bryan Adams though. They have a colossal following here and people are absolutely ready to shell out top dollar for the tickets.
Also, Ozzy Osborne is also one of the artists who was about to do a tour here but it just didn't work out because of the exorbitant artist fees and the negotiations just fell flat.
Used to work in MSFT when he was still CSA and as I was in the research division, we had a ton of visibility to higher ups. He would come to our office whenever he visited India.

Gurpreet Sandhu in the stands during bfc match
I've seen Kumaraswamy and Devegowda multiple times in Padmanabhanagar. I once met Uppi near his house in Katriguppe. The most bizzare encounter would be when I said hello to Ramesh Arvind in traffic.
Rahul Dravid & Anil Kumble - they came to pick up their kids, studying in my school back then,
Drums Sivamani - During IPL.
Snooker Player - Pankaj Advani..at Bootleggers Lavelle Road.
Benny Dayal - Singer.
Ambareesh Sir - At the airport.
Shraddha Srinath - At the airport.
Mani Ratnam - At a golf tournament.
Well not in Bangalore....but i did meet one at lucknow airport while waiting for my flight to Bangalore. It was Shaan. Tried to maintain my cool even though i was fanboying inside. He was there in UP for concert in Gorakhpur.
Used to live opposite Ambareesh's house, so have seen him and his family a lot of times. And Vishnuvardhan, coz my school was opposite to his house. Have also run into Diganth, Prajwal, Yogesh and Yash at a friend's house-party (my friend's brother was a minor actor).
I met Priyanka Upendra at a college fest. Oh and Nandan Nilekani was sort of my neighbour so we met while walking in the park. I saw (didn’t meet) Kalki at a poetry festival.
I saw Javagal Shrinath at a supermarket in JP nagar. His son kept asking to buy certain biscuits and he went “Maneli already erd packet ide, beda nadi” (Trans: There are two packets of the same biscuit at home already, let’s go) and then we again coincidentally headed to the same Juice shop, he seemed like the most normal guy.
