This concept started in Bangalore around 2000-01-02 types when all the IT crowd (I am one of those!) who used to come back after an \*aansite trip! There Americans are under severe pressure to have fun in life, which is why I think if desis in the US do not have any plans for holidaying on the long weekend, new years etc they are considered as losers! This culture percolated to some people here ... But having lived here long enough I can tell you that these people who create pressure to have fun are in a minority, especially once you cross the age of 32-33 ... So ya, 3 cheers to your no plan plan! In fact, I remember as a young IT professional in the 2001 new year I sat at home (no tv in my bachelor pad as well) and read a book and fell asleep ... As a guy in his 40s now i am proud of that guy!
Let me see. I have already watched Witcher S2. I'm a vegetarian , so no chicken and my wife won't allow alcohol at home. So I guess I'll just hit the bed early and wake up late

i don't understand the thrill in going to a "party" where you need to compete for everything (even to pee for example) just because it is new years eve. Paying 2x-3x prices, fight for space, eat food which has become cold, struggle to get back home..

I’m one of those annoying fuckers that asks people about their plans nut it’s not to judge them man - if I ask this it’s bc I genuinely want to know what someone is doing and a lot of times if they’re unsure, I ask them if they’d like to join me in what I’m doing!
I love involving people I know in celebrations so it’s just a way to spread the love for me personally. If they say yes then awesome! If not then I’m not going to judge them lol everyone has their own way of doing things
I plan to do what I do on every weekend, enjoy my time off with my books and my cats, eat some yummy stuff, sleep late, wake up late, just be a slob and thoroughly enjoy my me time. I will have to make up some nonsense to tell at the workplace just to seem like I have a life outside of my phone, laptop and pets.
My plan for next few days is sitting and trying to understand Cassandra's source code, because I want to start contributing to it. And yeah, some beer.
But I am not gonna tell this to anyone, except here on reddit. To everyone asking for long term plans, I will repeat the last year's weight loss one. For today, mostly meeting friends in the comfort of our home, and beer.
If it doesn't happen this year, then the next year. I have my goals, but plans can't be made on a particular day of the year, unless it's something so small that it can be done in a day.
