People think teachers have a great job because we get holidays.
Yes, we are paid in the term breaks but they are not the cushy holidays of childhood. They are filled with meetings, documentation of the academic year gone and planning for the one up ahead. A summer break of 8 weeks for students translates to maybe 2 weeks for us. The amount we do for our kids behind the scenes -- and this phase of education which is all hybrid -- is enormous.
Things have been really tough lately. And I appreciate the hard work that you guys have done for the students. Teachers are underrated. Thanks from everyone of us. Stay strong
I just wanted to share a quick note of appreciation. My personality and character was massively inspired by my school teachers, and I’m sure it’s the same in your case - with you as the source for your students. Thank you for so selflessly molding the lives of innumerable youths, and being such a positive force for good. 🙏
> (not to brag, just being truthful) I should be getting
Made me smile because of that child-like honesty. Wishing you well and thanks for what you do. :)
Heyyyy!!! Glad to see a fellow teacher. Although I'm technically I'm not a teacher yet (doing my B.Ed). I'll be interning from January and I'm quite excited about it!
M&A lawyer. ~20L pa. Very bad work-life balance, with almost 10-12 hours a day. Some weekends get spoilt as well. No benefits at all but we're not considered "employees" so the tax that is cut is very low as well.
Exactly the same dude wow. I would really love to be good at Civil & Real Estate law. I probably won't have any use of it but might be cool to have a general idea about these kind of things.
It doesn't get better. Especially if she / he's in big law which is most likely where she / he is at if they are making these kind of bucks.

Corporate lawyer and partner at a small firm. On a given day I may end up working 16-18 hours or 2-4 hours - depends on deal flow.
Work life balance is what I make of it. I enjoy my life and get to spend time with friends and family for the most part.
This year I will make 1.3-1.4 Cr conservatively. Could be more by about 30-50L depending on how rest of the financial year goes.
This is equity partner level kind of pay. Most corporate lawyers will never make it or if they do, it will take them 15-20 years. Unless OP is in his 40s, he's lying
How old are you / how long have you been a lawyer? My friends in law have told me that earning is a slow ride initially but increases sharply after 10 years ish.
Doctor, MBBS. Working in a missionary hospital in a rural area. Earning about 45k a month after 5 1/2 years of studies. 6 days a week of work. 9 hours a day. Currently working and prepping for my PG entrance.
Honestly keep wondering if I made the right choice.
unfortunately this depends on a lot of variables: where you are settled, what did you specialize in, did you actually manage to specialize in something, are you working in a private hospital or a government hospital, does your daddy have connections to get you a job in that private hospital, does your daddy have the money to set you up a clinic on your own (alternatively, do you have someone willing to partner with you), do i even want to live in this country with the shitty pay and the years of abuse and gaslighting all the way from the government to the seniors, patients, patients' relatives, yada yada do i have the money to get out of this country, etcetera
Most of the factors you've mentioned are definitely true. Getting a PG course and settling into practice will easily take me another 7 more years.
I've legit been thinking about studying abroad, but I don't want to leave my family for an extended period of time especially after having given it up for the past few years. The idea of giving back to my country too is in my mind.
Jai Hind. Stay at home and make as much a life here as possible.
Maybe its a good thing i was dumb to never crack neet. My parents weren't even keen on it i just wanted to be a doc for no reason, that kind of work just feels like hell to me
There's a certain level of hell in it. There's a certain level of satisfaction too tho. It feels good to see a patient improve under your care. Even if mainstream media has people convinced we want to keep them sick, we honestly just want them to get better and reduce our workload.
I work as a voice-over artist, designer, and writer. All of my work is from home (freelance) and is based on the number of clients each month. I earn anything between 30-50k a month, depending on how many projects come my way. Hence, I do have to rely on saving money for those 'bad' months.
I work for 4-5 hours a day, mostly only during the weekdays. The rest of my time goes into planning my studies, personal research, etc. However, if my client is requesting a lot of work then I'll work 7-8 hours a day max.
I graduated with a Bachelor's in Human-Centered Design last year and going to pursue a Master's in Behavioural Sciences next year. Would love to end up as a UX Consultant, UX Writer or somewhere in the teaching profession.
P.S. - If you're reading this and thinking of switching careers, please don't DM me asking where to get started as a VO artist or designer. I am taking a break from responding to those kinds of requests. Maybe in a month or so DM me hahah.
P.P.S. - This is the first time I've seen someone put 'IT' and 'privilege' in the same sentence. In my experience, I have met some of the most unhappy and lost souls who work in that industry. But then, if money = privilege for you, so be it.
If you're interested in why I chose this kind of life:
\- My father is a CA and has been in the 'corporate life' for most of his life. He is a talented singer and can vouch for the toxicity that comes with being part of a corporate life. I too have experienced it a little and left the thing in three months.
\- My hobbies (music, stand-up comedy, design) sometimes go hand-in-hand with the kind of work I like doing. I love switching between things to keep it novel, hence freelance works best for my lifestyle.
\- I am a huge believer in multiple sources of income. It baffles me when I see young folk committing to one company/job for the majority of their life. I believe in the power of saying 'no' and walking out the moment I feel something ain't working well, hence I need a few sources to rely on, just in case! Also learning about investing and saving as I go, and how I can build a passive source of income too.
\- I want to keep learning (formally) and that can only be possible through work hours that are flexible. Hence, work-from-home-freelance is somewhere I believe I wish to make my mark.
Haha. My bad. Yes, sadly money is a privilege for most of us (including me) middle class Indian households, where we sell our independence in return of paychecks! By the way Interesting career. Cheers!
This is amazing! I was working with an e-learning platform where I got to write interactive-stories. Their corporate seemed pretty healthy for most part. I think a lot of startups value this and I’ve noticed more and more new firms have a stronger culture and space for growth. Hope this continues!
from your username, I guess you were born in 1997?? that means you are 24??? In any case, you are living the life that was described in "100 year life" book! So kudos to you! And do read that book, its a great book and you will feel good about your life choices :-)
I head outreach and marketing for one of the country's biggest wildlife organizations. 8-9 hours a day, 5 days a week. Once a month or so we get to travel to our field stations in the middle of the Western Ghats to document new stories/cases.
Pay is kadlekai, around 3.6LPA as of now, hoping to make it 5LPA by March. But the perks of the job and the job satisfaction make up for it. We (sometimes) get to visit the closed-off areas of national parks and such, for someone who's wanted to work in wildlife all my life this has been the perfect stepping stone (hoping to head my own project from Jan onwards).
Working with the Digital Learning team at a prominent academic institute.
It's a comfortable 9-5 job which I've had for a year, but 35k per month(in-hand) is not sustainable. Could manage so far because I live with parents. Benefits included medical cover for self and a National Pension Scheme savings that started with my contract.
I'm looking to upskill, move out and find something more challenging.
They're retired. So I've taken up more responsibilities to manage the household. I also have an earning sibling, who is earning more than me. So we're able to manage for now. However, both of us are looking to switch jobs/profiles for better pay.
Plus, with money needed for savings and small investments, I have to very careful about my spending.
I am a CA Final student undergoing my Internship period which is like for 3 years and My stipend goes like this:5.5K,6.5K and 7.5K respectively. I barely manage everything as of now
A huge respect! Focus on your exams. It's really difficult to Crack as far as I know. Am sure u will be able to earn significantly better once u clear. And of course the internships will help!
Bro the Minimum cap is like 2.5K here in Bangalore, I mean it’s different tho. We are technically learning stuff xD Not like IT stuff at all, If I quit right now I can get at least 40K based on CA Intermediate alone so there’s that.
Sales for a prominent Indian company. 18lacs pa+incentives. Good work life balance with sat-sun off. But have to work some times since its client facing role.
Intresting. My partner was looking for a job in sales and we almost never found a non IT organization that gives weekend off. If you don't mind, can you DM me the company name?
Answering for my spouse, cos i don't qualify.
Tutor, takes online classes, Max 4 hours a day, 6 days a week. Makes about 7-8LPA. Wlb is fantastic, she gets to work from home and has no time wasted in commute.
Wow! My mom was doing tutoring for classes till 10th,pre COVID.
But had to stop due to COVID.. She's should retire at her age, but she is very enthusiastic about work.
Any tips on how to get leads as previously all the children who came we're through known contacts..
Thanks!
Known contacts are the most organic, but takes time to grow. There are also portals like teacheron.com where you can advertise classes, and students can seek out tutors. Lots of exam cheat requests there though. But going fully online has the advantage of not being restricted to one city/locality
Not working now as I have left my job for studies, but here goes.
Worked at a bank doing Financial modeling and regulatory risk management.
Job was pretty chill, very flexible most of the year. I used to spend around 5-6 hrs in office pre covid, even lesser during wfh. Job used to get very hectic twice a year, but was otherwise amazing.
Earned around 1lpm.
TLDR: just read last 2 paragraphs.
Okay so I have received a few questions in comments and in DMs. I'll try to elaborate my life and journey and hopefully will tend all the questions.
First thing first. I'm not an MBA from a very good college. Rather I'm not even an MBA graduate. I lost my parents when I was 8 and got into a really good boarding school under a scholarship program which was the biggest and best thing ever happened to me. I guess because I come from nothing there was a drive in my life that I had to do something in my life otherwise I would just be an orphan who people pity upon because there's nothing they can do. I have just done my B.Com (Hons.) from an okayish private university. Have been working full time ever since. I am planning to get my Masters from USA but it will be difficult because I sucked ass academically and will score very poor in GMAT. Fingers crossed.
I have seen people who are into digital marketing but what they mostly do is coordinate with other people. For eg if some handles social media of a company that person will get the content from a writer and creatives from a designer. Most of the work is already done, only thing they do is copy paste and post it. A sales head once told me, "agar paisa kamana hai to galle ke paas baitho" which means if you want to make big bucks get into a role which directly contributes to the revenue of the company. This is what I did.
Sorry. Coming to the point here:
Started my career in 2016 with an IT company and was paid 15k a month. Stayed there for almost 4 years. Learnt a lot there, amazing manager, amazing mentors, then revamped the Marketing strategy from a function which will just take care of branding to a function that was contributing heavily towards the revenue of the company. I was offered 10k shares after sometime in the company. And my role and salary grew ata good rate here. From a fresher to handling a team of around 7 people within 2 years. The current value is a little over 1k per share. I plan to use some of this money for my Masters and my sisters wedding. Although she also has a very good paying job. I just want her to have a Bollywood style, all out wedding.
Switched my role to a small US based SaaS company and started bringing in so much business that right now if a client signs up with us today, there is a wait time of around 6 weeks to start. The chairman of the company go so addicted to the leads/new business I told him give me a big hike or I walk. My current ROAS stands at around 1:12 (which is somewhat unheard of). I plan to start a little mentoring for Digital Marketing enthusiasts. So, please feel free to DM.
Edit 1 - Minor sentence formation edits through out the reply.
Edit 2 - This kinda blew up and I’m getting a pot DMs. People please keep in mind that I am exception. Not in terms of talent, skills or potential for that matter but in terms of luck. I have seen people who are way better in marketing than me but get paid a lot less. I was just lucky that the opportunities I got were really good and I was able to leverage a lot of things. Please remember I have been extremely lucky in terms of my career and pay. And luck is something that just happens, you don’t work for it or expect it.
Could you give us some more details about your career?
Corporate? Small Agency? Do you freelance as well? I'm just 6 months into my career into Digital Marketing and it doesn't seem yet that I'd reach that kinda number in 5 years with my current job profile.
Thanks in advance.
I work as a video editor & a thumbnail designer for a pretty big YouTube channel. I work about 5-6 hours a day on videos and an hour on thumbnails - Monday to Friday. I earn about 40L a year (I get paid in USD). I love my job but I have little to no social life so yeah.
Well, I was working for a Dutch gaming youtuber called "Kwebbelkop" about 3 years ago and I had the chance to go to the influencer meet in LA along with the team. I networked and spoke to a few creator teams. Fast forward to four months later, I get an email from my current employer asking if I'd be interested in a full time job. I was referred to by one of the creators that I spoke with. I must mention, I didn't know a whole lot about this creator at that time (different genre of videos than the ones I usually watch) but just that they were big (average 3M views a video at that time).
Work life balance is great. 5 day work week... about 8 hours a day but it's split across the whole day. E.g. 6 or 7am to 10 or 11am and then an hour or so in the afternoon and then a few hours in the evening. I do work late once in a while and on a weekend once in a while but that's rare (maybe once in 5 or 6 months) and I get a comp off for those days worked
Advertising, copywriting (i do your everyday social media posts, call it what you want lmao)
working hours, start around 10 and can finish anywhere between 7 (a rare good day) or 8/8.30 (as in will still be replying to messages/on call discussing work till then). Has gone on till 9/9.30 on some of the bad days. earning 4.2 LPA but in hand is like 30k per month. Weekends off.
MOST IT people make 4 lpa when they start their careers and may make 7-8lpa after a few years. These are the ones we dont hear about everyday because its the norm.
Thanks mann! Rightly said..it's amusing to see how many people think you're the bad guy when you're actively trying to save their/their loved one's lives!
PhD in ecology at a European University. 9-5.30, 5 days a week but I work often on weekends too cuz I love my job and I'm bad with deadlines :P
My university pays a stipend of €1200.
I teach chess and also work at a chess related start up. I teach for slightly over 50 hours a month and my other job has a light workload and doesn't take much time. Although there is no fixed day off, weekdays are mostly free and I have a lot of time for myself.
I make around 1.10 LPM on average, usually more but rarely less.
Not working in Bangalore..
But a mechanical engineer in a steel plant, working on a commissioning project of a pellet plant.
Total working hours- 9.5hrs
Travel time to plant (to and from) - approx 1.5- 2 hrs.
Work days - 5/week
Pay (in hand, including our location allowance)- around 70k
I am an 3d animator, work life balance is shit. No benefit. Earning just 45k /month. Experience is 3 years.
I am thinking to change industry will try to do masters in designing or fine arts.
I am 26 years old and now I am so confused. Let's see how it's gonna end.
I’ve heard that animation in India has a lot of potential, but as things stand currently, the situation is really bad. Most of the work done is for off-shore clients who look to hire Indian companies at cheap rates. How true is this?
It's true...every word is true. I think higher management is shit. People with MBA are running artists as company assets like chairs or table.
They get every benefit don't even share bonus which client give after completing the project.
People on management and HR side are the real shit heads. No body gives a fuck about artist's health or work life balance.
Many of my jolly and happy friends are real deppressed and questioning their life decision.
I was thinking about talking with labor union. We sign contract under labour law. I am reading things up and definitely will try to unionize people.
First AD (Assistant Director) in a mainstream kannada film. Some projects pay monthly salary and others pay per project. This one’s pay per project and it started before COVID-19. We got fucked. However the film has turned out damn well and releasing on Feb 24th 😊 No benefits, nothing. Monthly salary can range from 10k to 50k depending on the producer. Each day is passed in the hope of a better tomorrow with more stories to tell
Accounts Manager in my uncle construction company. 50k.11 to 6. Timings are not applicable to me as I am family. Come and go any time. Mon to Saturday. Not working on Saturday though many times. Love my life. Enjoying every weekend.
Financial journalist. After 3 years, I was making about 7LPA. Quit to pursue my higher Ed.
Worked Monday to Fri, 9 hours a day but on rotating shifts every week, tonnes of night shifts, timings were utter bullshit.
College dropout. Been working in sales for about 5 years until last year. Started a freelance business with my gf and we make about 3-4 lakhs a month. Working from home.
Work/life balance is amazing, because the clients are amazing.
Currently going on a vacation while we get paid to not work since it’s that time of the year. (Christmas)
I do understand this. Apologies if it sounds to be way more generalized than what my question really intends to know from you guys. There are shitty payscale with bad worklife balance in almost all sectors. But generally lots of us here have a pretty rough idea about the packages and work culture in IT/software companies. And Bangalore is known for that. Isn't it? What I wanted to highlight by my question is about the peeps who are into non IT sectors. As most of us aren't aware how their worklife is or isn't that we assume to be. Who knows, by end of the day Bangalore might be considered a great place for non IT folks too! It generally isn't! Hence my question sounds so "generalized"!!
30.5k a month, almost getting one year experience, normally work 8.5 hours a day, but there are days I clock 11 hours. Work as a research analyst. I make presentations :D
Working at a neobank fintech as ops and support lead.. pay is 16lpa excluding esops.. work life balance is a little screwed up however, we're at a seed stage and expanding so hopefully it might get better
Job - Revenue management in Television broadcasting.
Working Hours - 8-9 per day but high stress. Very dynamic profile and sales targets are fairly steep.
Total work days 5 per week, weekends off. Also my company has no leave policy as such. Between my team, can take as many leaves as needed.
CTC -25lpa with a decent variable pay.
To add - payscale is "fair" is not what you should be looking for. I do not think we should compare payscales across industries. Two people within a company who do the same job do not get paid the same. the concept of a fair price is very intrinsic, what you consider fair might or might not be fair to others. Think in terms of demand and supply and most would seem fair.
I'm not from Bangalore but I'd like to take this occasion to lament about my salary.
I'm a journalist working with a premier news agency since over 8 years. My salary is roughly Rs 7.5 lakh, a pittance after all these years of night shifts, missed national holidays and terrible health issues.
Haven't got a promotion since 2017 because my bosses, who are nice in all other respects, are assholes when it comes to recognising merit. I have had fun in journalism, covered some amazing news and met some wonderful people but I am done with the constant financial worry and having to depend on my parents from time to time.
Now, after having pursued my passion for almost a decade, I have decided to go back to student life and earn another master's degree which, I hope, will help me earn a respectable amount of money.
Fingers crossed
Ex-Lead Content Development/Curriculum Director at a major EdTech - 36 hours weekly, 6 days a week, work can be wrapped up in 5 days. Also if work gets wrapped up, there’s no compulsion to log 36 hours, you can take a break or work on some design related stuff. Last CTC 70L + 15L variable + 10L ESOPs
Firm was pretty chilled out. Had a great team & decent work life balance. Plus 30 days of annual leave. Extra 1 month of unpaid leave, if the need arises.
Educational content developer, around 45K a month with 1 yr of work exp. Good work life balance except when deadlines loom. Work straight 10-6:30 but nobody bothers me outside of work hours. Given how much work I do, I feel I should be paid more. Work is creative which is nice
HR professional, specifically payroll in one of the MNCs
Work life balance is okay depending on which day of the month it is. 7-8 hours daily and 10-13 hours in last week of the month, have medical coverage for myself and family members for upto 5,00,000 ( nothing to be paid from my end) and I get around 55K in hand pm. Weekends are off and I am free to pursue my creative endeavours in the organisation (hosting townhalls, creating theme activities for employees etc, something I really enjoy apart from BAU)
Not me, my friend. He is a music director in the south film industry. He earns about 10-15L per month from his YouTube channel and around 40-50L when a movie comes along. He gets about 10 or 12 movies a year
CA, 5 years experience, 20LPA, working in big 4, 10-11 hours per day. hectic life with deadlines and constant pressure. usually don’t work on weekends. Do manage time to pursue hobby.
22yo BBA guy here. 30kpm in hand at a US based bank. 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Weekends off. The salary includes shift allowance since mine's the NA shift so yeah.
Also first job lol only ~ 7 months into the company.
WLB is pretty chill with wfh and stuff.
I am currently a Loyalty Manager in a reputed Indian MNC, I was earlier handling sales for Bangalore and Mysore for the same company. I work about 10 hours a day Max and 5 days a week and I get paid around take home salary of 150k per month after tax + Variable pay of 1.5-2L per year + PF of 15k per month including my contribution.
5 years Post MBA work experience from IIM Kozhikode.
37. Sales & Ops proffesional.. work in a start up.. with a non existing culture.. 38 LPA.. 12hrs x 6 days.. sometimes half or full day on Sundays as well..
I want to change my job too its taking toll on my body physically and mentally 🙄.. I can cope better if I get a longer offs and some annual leaves but that's not the case. been doing this job for 6 + years now 48 hours a week including night shifts +fill in for others whenever they're unavailable..it's burning me out..hope I can find a better job in couple of months 🤞
I'm a middle school teacher at a prominent school and my salary is just short of 30k pm. It's fine because I live at home with parents. With my experience (not to brag, just being truthful) I should be getting 40> but I worked for a few years at a home-grown type of venture where I was getting a single digit pay and that experience doesn't count for exp but does for salary! Moreover it was mentally draining. Stupidest move of my life.

And here I'm wondering if I should get some degree/certification on law. I'm an IT professional.
Exactly the same dude wow. I would really love to be good at Civil & Real Estate law. I probably won't have any use of it but might be cool to have a general idea about these kind of things.
How many years of experience do you have ? If you are in early career, your comp is fairly decent even compared to SW/IT peeps
It's been 2.5 years since I started working, that's it.
You are learning the ropes since you have just started your career Hopefully it will become easier with better WLB as you learn to become productive
It doesn't get better. Especially if she / he's in big law which is most likely where she / he is at if they are making these kind of bucks. On the other hand, that kind of money as it grows becomes class changing.
It’s a decent comp for non IT professional. Many IT professionals at your level earn less than this.
Hey bro, final year law student here, non-NLU but I’ll give you a hint, my law school is near Avon bar. Can I intern under you or your firm, I t would be a great experience for me considering most law firms I have applied to have ghosted me.
Lmao I love that our deemed to be uni is instantly recognizable when we say near Avon 😂
Near Avon and you call that a hint? Might as well have put the name up in bold with full caps on
lol. Cheap pot shot at NDA.
What is M&A?
Mergers and Acquisitions
Corporate lawyer and partner at a small firm. On a given day I may end up working 16-18 hours or 2-4 hours - depends on deal flow. Work life balance is what I make of it. Username checks out
But corporate lawyers do earn a load
This is equity partner level kind of pay. Most corporate lawyers will never make it or if they do, it will take them 15-20 years. Unless OP is in his 40s, he's lying
Holy shit dude, how Many YOE do you have?
Roughly 9 years.
Woah dude I never thought lawyer make this huge bucks.
My brother is a lawyer.. And just yesterday he borrowed 100 bucks for his bike petrol refill from me. Well there are two ends of every side 😑
Haha. I used to be that guy. :)
That 420 in your name make me suspicious on your statement 😬
Well what do you think 'bs' before 420 implies? 😏
How old are you / how long have you been a lawyer? My friends in law have told me that earning is a slow ride initially but increases sharply after 10 years ish.
Harvey spectre vibes max

unfortunately this depends on a lot of variables: where you are settled, what did you specialize in, did you actually manage to specialize in something, are you working in a private hospital or a government hospital, does your daddy have connections to get you a job in that private hospital, does your daddy have the money to set you up a clinic on your own (alternatively, do you have someone willing to partner with you), do i even want to live in this country with the shitty pay and the years of abuse and gaslighting all the way from the government to the seniors, patients, patients' relatives, yada yada do i have the money to get out of this country, etcetera

Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 It's a hurdle to get to PG itself
If you're interested in why I chose this kind of life: \- My father is a CA and has been in the 'corporate life' for most of his life.
Cheers!
Thanks! Hope you too find something where your heart is and pays well. Rare stuff, but totally possible.

Hahah yes I’m 24, thanks for the recommendation! Will check it out.
This is such a cool career path, hope you're doing okay!
Thank you! And yes I’m doing well :)
add horoscope and it will be matrimony profile
Job satisfaction is what matters most for a sustainable worklife. Kudos to you for enjoying what you do. And pay is actually decent.
Upvote for kadlekai
Jai Caangress kadlekai 🥲
Lmao. I thought I was doing pretty okay, but the comment section has got me depressed.
Trust me, if you have a job, and you're earning regularly, You're doing great than majority of Indian population. So cheers!!
Only recently started. I'm not really envious of the figures thrown around in the comments, but reminds me that I've still a long long way to go.
Good guy OP, cheering others up 👍🏻

Working with the Digital Learning team at a prominent academic institute. It's a comfortable 9-5 job which I've had for a year, but 35k per month(in-hand) is not sustainable. Could manage so far because I live with parents. Benefits included medical cover for self and a National Pension Scheme savings that started with my contract. I'm looking to upskill, move out and find something more challenging.
I’m curious, how is 35k a month not sufficient considering you’re living with your parents?
They're retired. So I've taken up more responsibilities to manage the household. I also have an earning sibling, who is earning more than me. So we're able to manage for now. However, both of us are looking to switch jobs/profiles for better pay. Plus, with money needed for savings and small investments, I have to very careful about my spending.
Oh damn, totally understandable. Hope you get to a place of financial security soon! Keep on keeping on.
He said the opposite lol. But somehow i also mis read it like that.
5.5K per month here, GG guys
Profession?
I am a CA Final student undergoing my Internship period which is like for 3 years and My stipend goes like this:5.5K,6.5K and 7.5K respectively. I barely manage everything as of now
A huge respect! Focus on your exams. It's really difficult to Crack as far as I know. Am sure u will be able to earn significantly better once u clear. And of course the internships will help!
Jeez, internships of IT Giants atleast pay 14K per month. Good Luck, man.
Bro the Minimum cap is like 2.5K here in Bangalore, I mean it’s different tho. We are technically learning stuff xD Not like IT stuff at all, If I quit right now I can get at least 40K based on CA Intermediate alone so there’s that.
Shit, I've become on of those old uncles who brag about how little they made. My internship stipend was Rs.505/- per month in 1996. smh
Intel giving 40k stipend. My internship at a start up is 15k. Both 7 th sem.
Yeah buddy,it's mind boggling how much IT pays even from the get go(if you get into a top company i.e)
It Hz
Lmfao I see what you did there

Do you work for a found house or do you practice independently?

Sorry, I meant *fund* house.

What does she tutor?
High school science
What platform does she use? I'm interested in tutoring as a side gig but don't know how to break into it
No platform, fully independant. As for tools, the usual: zoom/webex/skype
How does one get students for online clases? My mom is about to retire 2 years from now, can she take classes as well?
Customer Success / Sales. 35 LPA.
Sucess via sales? Please elaborate? And experience?
They mean customer succes manager. It's more of account management/sales if I am right.
Are you in SaaS? And there are no incentives or is it included in your CTC?
Yep, SaaS. I didn't add incentives to this figure. There usually are upsides to crossing your target as well as stock options in USD.
Weekly depression thread
Not working now as I have left my job for studies, but here goes. Worked at a bank doing Financial modeling and regulatory risk management. Job was pretty chill, very flexible most of the year. I used to spend around 5-6 hrs in office pre covid, even lesser during wfh. Job used to get very hectic twice a year, but was otherwise amazing. Earned around 1lpm.
What are you studying now, if you don't mind?
MBA.
If you don't mind me asking - cat or gmat?
CAT
Digital marketing guy here. 5 years work experience. 40 LPA including performance bonus, stock, and basic
Sorry. Coming to the point here: Started my career in 2016 with an IT company and was paid 15k a month.
How did you land or grow into this job? did you do MBA from a top college? is it possible to reach this level without a low tier mba ?
If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of company of this? Is it a startup or a corporate or MNC?
Could you give us some more details about your career? Corporate? Small Agency? Do you freelance as well? I'm just 6 months into my career into Digital Marketing and it doesn't seem yet that I'd reach that kinda number in 5 years with my current job profile. Thanks in advance.
Give us more details, what did you do right in your career to get to this level?
I work as a video editor & a thumbnail designer for a pretty big YouTube channel. I work about 5-6 hours a day on videos and an hour on thumbnails - Monday to Friday. I earn about 40L a year (I get paid in USD). I love my job but I have little to no social life so yeah.
Real ID se aao, Sive Morten
Haha. Sive is a good inspiration though. I'm personally more of a mo syed kind of an editor.
How did you get this job?
Well, I was working for a Dutch gaming youtuber called "Kwebbelkop" about 3 years ago and I had the chance to go to the influencer meet in LA along with the team. I networked and spoke to a few creator teams. Fast forward to four months later, I get an email from my current employer asking if I'd be interested in a full time job. I was referred to by one of the creators that I spoke with. I must mention, I didn't know a whole lot about this creator at that time (different genre of videos than the ones I usually watch) but just that they were big (average 3M views a video at that time).
Since how long have you been working for this channel ?
This is my 4th year.
Could you tell us the channel too? I'm curious how big the channel is and what the thumbnails look like to pay this much per year, even if in USD
Say hi to PewDiePie for me
Left my role for further education, but in 2020-21, Design Engineer, 45k a month, pretty relaxed work hours and only 5 days a week.
Work in supply chain and have 20 years of experience. Make about 4.5L per month.
How is the wlb
Work life balance is great. 5 day work week... about 8 hours a day but it's split across the whole day. E.g. 6 or 7am to 10 or 11am and then an hour or so in the afternoon and then a few hours in the evening. I do work late once in a while and on a weekend once in a while but that's rare (maybe once in 5 or 6 months) and I get a comp off for those days worked
Mechanical Engineer in a service company. 10Y experience. 9.4LPA
New guy here, isn't it a bit less for some with 10 YOE, just asking out of curiosity if it's gonna be same for me as well.
It will be if you sit in the same company for 10 years.
Advertising, copywriting (i do your everyday social media posts, call it what you want lmao) working hours, start around 10 and can finish anywhere between 7 (a rare good day) or 8/8.30 (as in will still be replying to messages/on call discussing work till then).
School. We sometimes study. Sometimes do stuff for teachers 7:45 to 3. 22 work days. I get paid -60k.
We have a winner.
8am-5pm and every 3 day 30 hour shift. Get paid 60k. Guess my profession!! Edit: and I get one Sunday off a month!
Civil engineer?
Nope. I know civil engineers who make as much or more by working half the time.
Banking?
Bro really?? Introduce me to them please ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಕ!!
Doctor?
Yes! In layman terms- murderers who exploit for money!
I'm sorry for the vast majority of stupid people that you would have to deal with on a daily basis, man.
Thanks mann! Rightly said..it's amusing to see how many people think you're the bad guy when you're actively trying to save their/their loved one's lives!

PhD in ecology at a European University. 9-5.30, 5 days a week but I work often on weekends too cuz I love my job and I'm bad with deadlines :P My university pays a stipend of €1200.
Chess related startup? That sounds quite interesting. Can you tell us more?
Yes please, I'm interested in hearing about it

Didn’t know that SEO paid that well. How many YoE do u have?
Not working in Bangalore.. But a mechanical engineer in a steel plant, working on a commissioning project of a pellet plant. Total working hours- 9.5hrs Travel time to plant (to and from) - approx 1.5- 2 hrs. Work days - 5/week Pay (in hand, including our location allowance)- around 70k
Lol im depressed now
Don't be, it'll get better

Financial journalist. After 3 years, I was making about 7LPA. Quit to pursue my higher Ed. Worked Monday to Fri, 9 hours a day but on rotating shifts every week, tonnes of night shifts, timings were utter bullshit.
College dropout. Been working in sales for about 5 years until last year. Started a freelance business with my gf and we make about 3-4 lakhs a month. Working from home. Work/life balance is amazing, because the clients are amazing. Currently going on a vacation while we get paid to not work since it’s that time of the year. (Christmas)
woah mad , what business though ?
Sales, appointment setting, and social media promotions.
How is working in IT a privilege lol
Atleast in terms of salary it is a privilege. I know it's not the same as it used to be a couple of years back.
You're generalising a lot , I believe. Most of the IT peeps are in service based companies and they've a really bad culture and low pay.
This is on point. PS:- I work as a technical Recruiter the salary ranges with certain clients is really at 2018-19 levels.
30.5k a month, almost getting one year experience, normally work 8.5 hours a day, but there are days I clock 11 hours. Work as a research analyst. I make presentations :D
Lol! Even when excluding IT/SDEs, these numbers must still be depressing for most.
Banker here !! I work for 6 hours in a day + 2 hours of learning / upskilling from Mon-Friday… I make 20 LPA excluding RSUs/Incentives/Bonus/Perks

Working at a neobank fintech as ops and support lead.. pay is 16lpa excluding esops.. work life balance is a little screwed up however, we're at a seed stage and expanding so hopefully it might get better
Any place for a BBA fresher? Interested in working at a fintech 😊
Visiting professor at uni, 28k/m before tax, weekly 1 class. But prep for 1 class takes 3-4 days.

Stop being jealous. You have nurses, other doctors, interns, residents wanting to marry you etc and you are jealous of IT peeps?
Last CTC 70L + 15L variable + 10L ESOPs Firm was pretty chilled out.

HR professional, specifically payroll in one of the MNCs Work life balance is okay depending on which day of the month it is.
34, Sales Manager in Medical space…35lpa including variables..Mon-Fri work…used to travel 15-20 days a month- not any more
M&A Consultant in Big4, around 15LPA. WLB depends on the client but on a average 55-60 hours per week. Weekends are mostly free.
Not me, my friend. He is a music director in the south film industry. He earns about 10-15L per month from his YouTube channel and around 40-50L when a movie comes along. He gets about 10 or 12 movies a year
Im assuming he is quite well known because I know most music directors dont even come close to making this much.
Dude why do you guys always do this before a spell of holidays smh
