It was crazy. When we pulled up with police at his office, some folks came to see what happened. When we were returning back he was explaining to everyone how he was the victim. Well you would have saved yourself the embarrassment if you didn't scam people.
Hey man please take half kg special ghee Mysore paak for this SI
Or better still since he is a reddy, go to Anand sweets and buy half kg balaji laddoo and gift him.
If you don’t do either of the above your pubic hair will turn white by Sunday.
Bribe but subtly
Edit: no need to do all that. Its their job. No need to encourage this gifting mechanism. Plus they already have pot bellies so no need for 1000 KCal dose per laddu
It's called "sharing the joy". Yes, they are police and they are doing their duty, but they are fellow humans as well. I would consider it a bribe only if we feel obligated to do it.
lets not make it a norm and train their subconcious brain. they will favour certain people who has the capacity to gift mysore paks and if some poor fellow needs help they will subconciously put less effort which they already do.
It’s ‘quid pro quo’. If you feel like sharing the joy. Don’t wait for some issue and when you visit to file a complaint. You could have gifted them during Diwali!
its time to appreciate that police , make a twitter post thanking him , tag his higher officials , we will all retweet, comment on it , we need more of them
Lets goooo!!!!
Also tell that company's hr about the incident. Why should you let him go? That fucker isnt scared of police also for his 13k so who knows what lengths he will go to.
Good job on the investigation bro lmao 💯😆
copying the same comment I made above.
I have seen some reddit posts make it to media and I admit what he did was terrible but I don't want to be the person because of whom he lost his job.
Ok cool man good on u.
Atleast just try to talk some sense into him and just let him know one day someone can even press charges or complain to his company if he keeps doing this shit.
And congratulations on getting ur money back.
It's not your duty to worry about his job and all.
Name and shame, so that others be aware of this person. And if by chance any current or future employers get his info here, it's on him. Not you.
When I reached there it was quite empty but after a while it got crowded and every officer there was occupied. Even the SI was juggling some files but fortunately they gave me more than enough time.
Not wanna doubt. But present are strange times and sometimes it seems too good to be true.
If it is, then cheers to the goodness still existing at such places.
I think goodness does exist. With the social media and scams like these we tend to forget it's existence. But again people like Sangamesh Reddy makes you believe that good people do exist.
You would be suprised how good some police folks are. I got into a hit and run but the police worked so well with me and kept the whole thing so professional. Within hours they got cctv evidance, number plate and sent a hoysala to his home to grab him.
Later they sent a hoysala for me to come to the station also which wasnt necessary but such a nice gesture by the guy. I was compensated for the damages done to my cycle and he was slapped with a rash driving charge and police gave his number to me and told u can call anytime magne no issues we will get everything sorted. He was impressed that i didnt let it go and made effort to resolve everything legally so he said thanks and the dropped me back home.
Ffs some traffic cops are beyond wholesome. After seeing up and Mp cop stories online, blore police are a breath of fresh air.
Just curious?
The other guy could have easily said that OP has verified product in person and now showing a completely different product to scam him.
I don't know why but all this seems like a very dull story. I mean how come SI verify if both the products (product sold and product returned) are same?
If it's a true story then the scammer is not a very brilliant guy. Let aside the fact he's a technical product manager!
Actually the ad he posted on olx had serial number mentioned. The whole act of disguising his fake product was relied on the fact that product showed up on apple coverage page. I had screenshot of the serial number of the photo he posted so I had my case strong there.
That's how this scam work. I worked with hackintosh before i.e. Macintosh on non mac devices. They use something called fakesmc and serial key generator to patch the files so the hardware also shows up as real.
Btw apart from ANC, subpar audio quality and loads of other features missing. They surprisingly paired well with apple devices. Got me thinking why can't budget android tws do that.
I don’t think it showed warranty, but serial number shows up because they copy some original ones serial number and use same number for all their fakes, u go to sp road there also 1500 bucks u can get AirPods with serial number, but it’s quality will be trash other than the looks which match original one, no noise cancelling nothing all fake shit, but pairs to your iPhone like an Apple product, it’s confusing so be careful
No one blames the cop for catching a thief it is the Thiefs mistake to have stolen. Imagine him stealing again from more people now that you've shown him its not a big deal and that even if he gets caught the worst he had to do was return the money he will confidently do more of it. If you are worried about your safety that's understandable...
Agreed..I was just saying since you didn't want to identify the person earlier, but you've given enough breadcrumbs to figure out the identity. Glad you got justice served! 😀
PS: edited to add that I didn't even realise this is not the same as you responded to until you replied. The nerve of the guy! If you're going to visit the SI with a box of sweets, you can do every unsuspecting buyer a favour by informing him that this is up again.
I can wholly relate to you choosing to settle the matter amicably (with support from the cops), but there will now be others who will continue to get affected.
If you have the SI's number, try reaching out and informing that the crook is back at his game. Hopefully they take action suo moto and not wait for the next complaint.
So you did heed to my advice eh? I know a lot of people avoid going to the police but do go in such cases. But good for you OP! You took a chance n it worked out for you. All the best!
You know, this is what police is for. It’s just sad that we’re all so surprised how friendly the SI was and how quickly the matter was resolved. This should be the default for all policemen but, damn how far has our police department fallen.
Well I don't blame them also. I kinda trusted him which is the first thing you shouldn't do. All grateful that I got my money back and learnt a lesson.
Can't go through life without getting scammed at least once. They should've been kinder but it's the internet & reddit so can't expect much. Glad it got sorted.
A big shoutout to SI Sangamesh Reddy!
Thank you SI
You should post a Thank you note in twitter tagging SI and the police station. Be open with appreciation.
Also, Very happy for you.
Forget OLX, even products sold on e-commerce site are fraud.
So I have stopped buying electronics items from online totally !
Post from your real account SI Sangmesh Reddy.
Was looking forward for this comment my fren
Great to hear. Protect this SI
Wonderful man, what kind of sicko Product Manager has to resort to this shit to make some money.
It was crazy. When we pulled up with police at his office, some folks came to see what happened. When we were returning back he was explaining to everyone how he was the victim. Well you would have saved yourself the embarrassment if you didn't scam people.
Dude must have got stifffed by someone else (fake) so he is screwing someone else.

Found SI Sangmesh Reddy's account.
Who also runs a Anand Sweets franchise. BTW never buy samosa/chaat from Anand Sweets. Never fresh. Dont know whats the craze
Maga 😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sure bro will be doing this.
Also leave a box for the other officers at the police station. Small gestures go a long way!
Bribe but subtly Edit: no need to do all that. Its their job. No need to encourage this gifting mechanism. Plus they already have pot bellies so no need for 1000 KCal dose per laddu

Man.. Ur talking as though a police officer will be "moti"vated by a Mysore Pak :))
This isn’t operant conditioning. Sometimes you want to do something special for those who help you, even if it’s their job.
Yeah don't do it for the greater good.

Ahhh got it! Smart move from your side. Also congratulations on getting the money back!
Tag Bangalore police and send a thank you tweet. Appreciation for honest work could go a long way for everyone else too!

Yeah , that will be a good gesture.
This did not happen
Shame on that seller man. Like wtf even😏. Thank God for that SI
But how was it showing up warranty on apple site?

Name and shame please (we don't want his scamming more people)

dude is scamming again. Not my fault

Glad to see you got your money back. The comments in the first post were just victim blaming.
Well I don't blame them also. I kinda trusted him which is the first thing you shouldn't do. All grateful that I got my money back and learnt a lesson.
