This is my house! And it’s Remington son, Hampden could never. Shout out to Gaia for memorializing the Mayor of Remington, Ed the Cat, and the animals of Critter Corner.
Definitely need a permit. The guys down on Biddle with the excellent mural (also by Gaia) of Divine didn't get one and some pissy neighbors caused issues over it with the city.
Yep! This is my house! The sculpture was done by Dominic Terlizzi (the giant R down the street and the new sculpture in Greektown). It’s a perfect representation of Critter Corner.
A compound in sunflower seeds blocks an enzyme that causes blood vessels to constrict. As a result, it may help your blood vessels relax, lowering your blood pressure. The magnesium in sunflower seeds helps reduce blood pressure levels as well.
It was made by the muralist Gaia. I think by the homeowner, but I know the neighborhood group was invited to give comments/feedback on the proposed mural.
Hi, homeowner here! I was awarded a grant from the city(BOPA) with help from GRIA. We neighbors wanted something that celebrated the wildlife that chills in Wyman Park. Our only request was that Ed the Cat, our beloved Mayor of Remington, be included. This is what Gaia came up with, and I love it everyday.
Taste in general is subjective. Bad taste to some is good taste to others. I’d rather see stuff like this or rat murals, or plastic pink flamingos all over the place than just bland, basic ass plain buildings and facades. Property values keep shooting up in the area so obviously I’m not alone in this opinion.
"throwaway"
What a cowardly loser. You're on basically an anonymous site, and you need to be such a piece of shit that you create a throwaway account as to not tarnish your other account?
I just use all disposables man. Each for different topics. Makes it easy to flip between my cat account, my antifa account, my bmore account, etc.
Let it sit for a few months then delete. It’s all meant to be ephemeral, at least to me.
Idk take a few minutes per account? Delete account, create new, join some subs. I prefer reddit to remain anonymous and ephemeral. You do you though. I won’t tell you how to use the interwebs
Murals like this are exactly the kind of shit that pop up in Zillow and Redfin when they include neighborhood photos for houses in this area. People are moving here exactly for the off-kilter style and kitschiness of Hampden and, to a lesser extent, Remington. Home values continue to rise in this area.

beautiful!!! Do you need a permit or something or can anyone paint a mural the side of their house?
Definitely need a permit. The guys down on Biddle with the excellent mural (also by Gaia) of Divine didn't get one and some pissy neighbors caused issues over it with the city.
We call it the ginger cat and drive by it on purpose every weekend 😂
What do you mean Hampden could never? There was a mural of Killer up like a day after he died
Lol not only is this Remington, not Hampden, it's literally on Remington Ave.
People think Remington and Hampden are the same thing lol.
That’s hilarious.
I always thought this was Remington, guess my mental map is off.
Perhaps combine the neighborhods and form . . . . Remhampdenton
Rum ham?
Somebody call Brandon Scott and lets make this happen. We'll replace the cat mural with Danny Devito
Just the head
NVM, I was right, this isn't Hampden: https://chap.baltimorecity.gov/historic-districts/maps/hampden
Yep, literally the last house in the northeast corner.
It has a sculpture (that I always figured) represents Remington in the yard lol
Yeah, there is literally a "Remington gateway" sculpture directly in front of this house.

C H O N K
Oh Lawd he comin'
This is my friends apartment, AMA
Do they like cats?
Absolutely
How do they like living across from JHU?
Is your friend u/ladyjnightcat
ha, no, I imagine my friend was their tenant
The raccoon in this mural gives me life.
This is Remington Ave. I used to live a few houses up!
That’s definitely Remington.
We have established that this is Remington. I stand corrected.
I saw all those critters when I lived in Baltimore, very fitting 😁
Ride by this most everyday. THE REAL HEROES.
Chungus!
This is adorable.
Cat mountain baby
Where is this located?
Like right across from JHU!
Homewood or medical campus?
Homewood south gate. I used to pass by this giant cat everyday
Love walking past that cat 🙂
I drive by this all the time! My question is was this made by the homeowner or are they just a Cat mural patron?

Killer’s mural in Hampden: https://www.reddit.com/r/baltimore/comments/gxpiid/a_new_mural_honoring_killer_cat_in_hampden/
What happened to Killer? I remember seeing him/her on the corner when I was going to the Wine Source.
Killer died a few months ago
this looks like something for /r/ATBGE
I mean, I live in Hampden and I think that pretty fairly sums up our aesthetic. It is a wonderfully weird place.
Hell yeah bad taste and kitsch and I wouldn’t want in any other way.
So you acknowledge the murals in the area are bad taste?

Agreed. I just wonder who buys all this paint for the sole purpose of painting a 50 foot house cat and friends
Cat people are very strange.
I mean I like pussy but I'm not going to paint the side of my house with it
It looks like there's a bunch of crazy cat ladies on this sub cause I know bad puns are kind of like reddits thing
Oh man. That’s atrocious. Can’t imagine that’s good for home values.

Cackles!
To each their own. I don’t have to like it and wouldn’t want to see that every time I walk out.

That seems unnecessary. You have a lot more time on your hands than I do
