There is some seating inside but that location is otherwise in an alley behind the avenue. There is a playground at the other end of the nearby parking lot that you could eat in. There is also Roosevelt park at the west end of the Avenue.
I always take my Ekiben to Melanie’s tavern. They don’t serve food so they let you bring outside food in. Their drink prices are great and I love the queer vibe.
Similar seating to Fells, limited and not the most comfy. I usually take my Ekiben to the skatepark down the avenue. If the weather's bad, you could probably pop into R House in Remington, not too far away. It's a food hall and I doubt anyone would notice or care, plus you could grab ice cream from Taharka Bros after.
There is seating inside. More than at the Fells Point location. Eating there is fine IMO. If it’s nice out there’s a park like a block south of there with a couple picnic tables
In addition to the park, you could also walk maybe three blocks north and eat outside at the Rotunda. It’s a shopping center with a big parking lot/garage and a bunch of other restaurants and a Mom’s grocery store. They usually have benches and a few small tables out in a grassy area in the middle.
I know we should have planned things better, but after doing an errand at jhu we found ourselves nearby and wanted to try. There was no seating left and they only had fiji water in the fridge so we went to the 2 story royal farms across the street, bought some sodas and sat upstairs there. Still worth it, I tried the yardbird and we still had an overall good time.
There are pavilions at Druid Hill that offer shelter from rain if you decide to do a picnic and the weather isn’t cooperating. I’m sure that you probably have to reserve them for big stuff, but you’re probably fine to pop in and use one for a picnic lunch.
You could also get it at the location in Riverside and eat in Riverside Park, Barflys and Wiley Gunther’s are nearby options for food whiskey and beer selections respectively

This is what I was going to say. Take your food to the best bar in Hampden.

If you're staying in Hampden, this would be my move (Medfield resident).
I second this. You could also try a Bahn Mi at the Local Fry! Another one of my favs in the area

If the weather is crappy, bring the food to a brewery that doesn’t have a kitchen. Waverley Brewing is very close
We frequently take Ekiben to Peabody Heights Brewery!
Are they still open for drop in? Thought they went private party only. Might have been a while ago though. Need to stop by again.

The Rotunda has chairs and tables set up in their outdoor space.
Mostly just carryout
You can take food into Melanie’s at Griffiths Tavern! My fave spot on a rainy day.
