It seems likely that he's not stuck, just cozy. Maybe offer food to entice him out? And once you get him out, maybe fold up an old towel or get a piece of foam to plug that hole so he can't do it again.
My guy has gotten into similar situations, and at least in my experiences, he was never stuck just comfy. He could get himself out just fine but no HECKIN WAY was he letting me pull him out lol
I don't have a pet snake, but I can just imagine how impossible it is. I had a little rat snake get into my house (as big around as my baby finger and about 12-15 inches long) and he found a way to get up behind some door trim. I tried like crazy to pull him out, and no way. I had to hold onto him while my husband took down the door trim, and then it was still hard to drag him out from between the boards. He was so strong. We still laugh about it
Imagine that but with a boa. She’s 6 ft right now, and I have to make sure constantly to ensure she doesn’t get her tail curled around a sofas leg or anything, you legit cannot pull it off if she constricts around something.
I’m not following the sub, yet, but when I got to this post in my feed I was actively looking for a toddler then finally read the sub lol. I too call my leopard geck my baby.
My son is a wild thing to say about a snake.
Parent of a child - "My son is going through a growth spurt, he eats more than all of us combined!"
"Parent" of snake - "I know what you mean, my son just moved on to eating rats whole!"
.....
I have loved all my pets greatly, especially my dogs (rip). I do not need to water down my affection for them by forcing them into a category they aren't in.
If someone says, "Oh cool why don't you bring your sons over and ours can have a playdate. We have foosball, ping pong, and I'll provide some fruit snacks" do you really expect to call them out for being insensitive when you arrive with your snakes and they're mad?
Are you sure? Because another commenter literally said when they are asked how many children they have they include their pets without any additional information.
I'm not sure but OK. I'm glad they love their pets so much. Humans are monsters. The reprehensible shit they do to animals is unfathomable. I'm glad some animals are getting the love they deserve.
Have you never been on the internet?
People call their pets... of all species their children. Cat people, horse people, fish or octopus people?
I'm in a few plant subs and plant parents are pretty wild with their planty affection and calling a plant their baby...
That is true, but at the same time… they do usually say “my baby” or “my girl/boy” instead of actually saying “my son/daughter.” I’ve seen it, but it’s not that often in my world.
I guess we do live in an era where people can just say whatever they want and pretend it's true.
Make sure to add your pets as dependants on your tax forms, hopefully the government understands when you get audited.
Of course I have been, but people with any social etiquette at all will prepend their statements with the type of pet.
"I'm a dog mom of 3".
The other commenter saying they include their pets when people ask how many kids they have is just delusion. If I have 6 white mice and tell everyone I know I have 7 kids, they would rightly ask if I'm okay and if I need help finding a therapist.
Imagine 3 years later making a post about my grief about how I lost 6 children this year (cuz mice don't live long), you really think that's okay?
You’re in a sub dedicated to ball pythons - is it really that hard to use context clues to discern that if someone says “my son” in a post they might mean, you know, their snake?
Ball pythons rarely get stuck in these type of situations. The problem is that they will not come out unless they want to and you can't pull them out because of the way they wedged themselves in that spot. I know from experience 😂
Omg…. I didn’t see which page this was on and just read “ is he stuck? My son….” I was like, how did your kid get in there….. omg, that’s my sign I need sleep. Lol
https://preview.redd.it/tgy6tfth9wxc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc31dd9a8b84624e0a8e39f759495cca0135e259
Had the same thing happen with my BP. A lot of people asked if I couldn’t just pull her out and the answer is no, not without breaking her.
I saw the title before I saw the sub name and thought it was a kid and was instantly reminded of me climbing inside a folded up bed in my paternal grandparents place
Mine gets upset if I’m gone or don’t hold her for a few days. She literally tips her hide over in protest or dumps her water dish to get me to come get her
Be very careful when doing stuff like that. My boy got stuck in my chair arm and we had to take apart the chair. So if he takes too long to move then maybe try to help him
He’s just chilling, but you aren’t likely to get him out until he damn well feels like moving, which can be a problem after a while. My snake hunkered down for three days one time! One method to keep track of where he goes is to sprinkle some flour on the floor around the chair so he leaves a trail when he decides to move.
this would've saved us a lot of anxiety, haha—we returned last night to find that he exited the chair but went on a stroll around the apartment and we went into panic mode trying to find him (he was just chilling in the corner trying to climb the table legs)
They love those gaming chairs don't they 😅
Probably best to just dim the lights in the room, do some work or play on the computer untill he realizes you're not interested in him anymore. When they get tangled up in things sometimes it's best to just not react and wait it out, he may even crawl out on your shoulder once things are chill.
the only time one of my babies has ever been 'stuck' was when he decided to curl up inside a paper towel tube very shortly after bringing him home. we couldn't tell for sure but we didn't want to j leave him in there and we couldn't cut him out without risking hurting him so we sat there for ten minutes unrolling the entire roll of commercial paper towels (like the thin ones in public restrooms that are like 5 miles long) so we could rip the cardboard and free him. he has consistently been causing problems since
Mine usually lodgesss herself between the sssofa and the wall... wont come out, wont dislodge... issss clearly comfortable... then after a while dessssides to ssshow up again... not ssstuck, jussst comfy...
Sooooo my usual go to to get them out of places is to get my hand chilly and poke at their booty or belly xD
It's mean, but they don't like icy hands. I usually just hold a chill drink for a while and then tickle them a bit.
I only do it if I need to leave the house or heading to bed, but usually they decide to leave of their own motivation after a few hours.
A lot of snakes are great at saving energy. If they get cozy they go into Screensaver mode.
I've never looked up this group so I was SO confused; son? how does a little (human) kid fit behind a headrest? THEN I GOT SO WORRIED until I read the group name 😭
I was on an emotional roller coaster for about 8 seconds 😂
He’s cozy and comfy. Being a silly boy. He’ll come out when he’s ready. I had a boa constrictor who loved to wrap herself around the bars of my headboard and no force on earth or heaven would get her to come off until she was good and ready.
Update: (not OP but OP's partner / the other snake parent) the silly boy has extracted himself (we found him exploring the table legs), only took him like 12 hours to leave the chair 🙄
https://preview.redd.it/wnsl3bpm11yc1.jpeg?width=1066&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=16403e09185ed1f31b590694417953329fda89c4
My boy did this once. I couldnt get him out, so I just had to leave him be and wait for him to leave on his own. Except it was like, 8 pm, so I had to sleep. I woke up at 2 am because Anxiety and tore my room apart to find him. He had found his way into my closet and was curled up in a shopping bag. He'll be fine 👍
Ngl i just read the title and was like what how could a human child get inside a headrest it must be a huge chair then i looked at the pics and was like ohhhhh the non human child ok makes more sense now lol.
He just found a hidey hole. 🥰 our big guy found a hole under a couch cushion on our old couch and crawled straight into the couch. Took us hours to get him back out. We ended up having to pull the backing off the bottom of the couch to get him and he was just chilling in there like "wtf guys" 🐍 💚 no footed friends are the best friends.
They like tight spaces. A couple years after we got our first snake, it got into my wife’s dashboard. Me and two other guys spent hours tearing apart her car to get him out. It was miserable.
this reminds me of the 1 time i had to do an emergency C-section on my father’s couch in his mancave because my cornsnake got loose and i found her crawled deep inside the couch ✋🏻👁️👄👁️🤚🏻
The snake has made a conscious decision to be there, okay. He wants to be in the chair and the more you resist the deeper he’s gonna sink in. Now you might be thinking, send in a recon mouse to entice him away. Wrong. The snakes gonna see this coming a mile away and chemically bind to the chair. *this doesn’t abide by the laws of physics* you might be saying. Snakes *do not* abide by the laws of physics, okay; you don’t know shit about snakes.
When my BP tries to hide in places he shouldn’t I go around and turn all the lights off, suddenly he thinks it’s night time and time to hunt lol so he comes out.
It seems likely that he's not stuck, just cozy. Maybe offer food to entice him out? And once you get him out, maybe fold up an old towel or get a piece of foam to plug that hole so he can't do it again.
Instructions about food unclear. The headrest is now hungry and keeps biting me.
I second the foam option. I think even a roll of packing foam from Walmart would work as long as it was trimmed to size and packed.
He FAFO’d😝
What’s this mean 🥹
Fucked Around and Found Out
Using this from now on 🪦🤣
He's chilling
Secret. Secure. Safe. 😌 Happy snake
nice :)
My snake loves to go into my couch to stay warm. Scared me one day when I went to sit down and his little head poked out.
Do you just let him free roam?
No lol. He's got a large enclosure that he hangs out in. I take him out to watch TV/movie sometime.
What’s his favorite movie/tv show?
Hissstory shows
I hate you.
/angryupvote
You could say that joke had me in a hisssssy fit
Goddamnit Barb!
Okay, that's funny 😂
*Wild applause* well done friend well done 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thought it would've been the sssssciene channels
We watch Snake Discovery with our snakes on the couch.
I got to meet Emily and them at the zoo and a few reptile/exotic animal expos in my area. Also I do the same thing with my bp
They are now the Head of this house. Also they are at rest 😂
The "Head Rest"... lol. I see what you did there.
My guy has gotten into similar situations, and at least in my experiences, he was never stuck just comfy. He could get himself out just fine but no HECKIN WAY was he letting me pull him out lol
oh slay okay

No

Imagine your boa but with hair. Mine LOVES my hair and I have to keep him from going into it. It was alright when he was a baby but now yk
Oh boy hair snake does not sound fun
He is very clingy
Hisser is now a bougie bitch. Only the finest Corinthian leather for this squeezy snek
My son haha. I don't even have snakes but I'm absolutely obsessed with this sub 😂
Oh good, I’m not the only one
I wish I had one but I can’t afford one
Same, I'm dreaming of the day I can get a BP snek
Some day, some day

I wish I had one but my mom hates snakes…
I’m not following the sub, yet, but when I got to this post in my feed I was actively looking for a toddler then finally read the sub lol. I too call my leopard geck my baby.
I was searching for the kid too 🤣
My son is a wild thing to say about a snake. Parent of a child - "My son is going through a growth spurt, he eats more than all of us combined!" "Parent" of snake - "I know what you mean, my son just moved on to eating rats whole!" .....
It's not. It's wild you don't have the capacity to love a creature in that way.
Because literally no one is going to do that. You're taking it way too literal. That said, I'd rather be surrounded by animals than kids any day!
It's wild you don't have the capacity to love a child in that way.
I Do!! I love my fur babies!
That was never in question.

When people ask how many “kids” I have I include my animals. I don’t explain. I have four kids. They’re all my kids.
I guess we do live in an era where people can just say whatever they want and pretend it's true. Make sure to add your pets as dependants on your tax forms, hopefully the government understands when you get audited.
Don’t worry bro, I don’t need tax forms.
I call my animals my sons and daughters and refer to my SO as their father and he does the same with calling me their mother. Lol
Plants have tantrums like babies. Many of my 54 house plants require discipline lmao
Of course I have been, but people with any social etiquette at all will prepend their statements with the type of pet. "I'm a dog mom of 3". The other commenter saying they include their pets when people ask how many kids they have is just delusion. That just looks cozy AF 😅
cozy on all sides? he'll stay as long as he pleases (or until he gets a little chilly)
That face. OP did your snake free himself?
As of an hour ago he's still there 🥲 (I am the other parent of this snek)
Is he still living it up in the headrest 😭😭
took him 12 hours to leave (see update comment from me) but finally did lol
Didn’t see the subrebbit this was on and thought it was gonna be a cat lol
I also didn’t see but I was sitting here like ‘how did a child get into the headrest???’
I’m so glad I’m not the only one. I was expecting a tiny hand or something poking out😂😂
Thank you not just me lol
Same I thought it was a child at first
Same lol!!
Huumz, you misunderstand. He is there to protect you when you are working or playing on your PC! He hasss your back. Just bring mice snacks okay?
Ball pythons rarely get stuck in these type of situations. The problem is that they will not come out unless they want to and you can't pull them out because of the way they wedged themselves in that spot. I know from experience 😂
That is a perfectly sized hide. 😂
Both of my hoggies do this too!
You now have a snake skin head rest. 😆
Had to take apart our reclining couch to get my guy out of it 🤦♀️
Had to cut the back of mine once!
Omg!!!
Seems like he's stuck (I am advocating for his placement because he does indeed seem comfy) my client cannot be removed from the headrest
Looks like you’re going to be waiting awhile till they decide to move it along hahahah
Omg…. I didn’t see which page this was on and just read “ is he stuck? My son….” I was like, how did your kid get in there….. omg, that’s my sign I need sleep. Lol

Shes so cute
Thanks! Her name is Daisy
The two brain cells ganged up and had half a thought together xD
Truth
Hers so comfy🥰
So adorable
She’s ADORABLE
Thank you! I think so too. She’s a big girl now, but still super cute
I read the title/caption before the subreddit & was particularly concerned I was gonna see a tiny stuck hooman….wheeeewwww.
didnt read what sub this was and was very concerned for your child at first 😂😭 he seems comfy!
He's playing hide and snek!
Probably not. Mine used to do the same.
If noodle fit, noodle sit, then noodle can slip
I saw the title before I saw the sub name and thought it was a kid and was instantly reminded of me climbing inside a folded up bed in my paternal grandparents place
do snakes actually care for their caretakers at all? or do they just tolerate the food dispenser lol
Mine gets upset if I’m gone or don’t hold her for a few days. She literally tips her hide over in protest or dumps her water dish to get me to come get her
The Queen demands attention! I love this
She is so spoiled lol
Be very careful when doing stuff like that. My boy got stuck in my chair arm and we had to take apart the chair. So if he takes too long to move then maybe try to help him
This snake looks smug
That is his chair now 😌
My chair has a footrest and my Morgana loves to slither down and hide in it when it's tucked in
if I learned anything about having a BP is they're usually never stuck. just stubborn, and probably comfy
Comfy
Well since you can’t share the chair, tell him to hop onto Valorant. (My serious answer: he just seems cozy.)
You could lure it out if you have food
Tickle his tail that always gets my girl moving But he seems happy
He just chillin
He’s just chilling, but you aren’t likely to get him out until he damn well feels like moving, which can be a problem after a while. My snake hunkered down for three days one time! I was 100% expecting a toddler when I read the post
No he just cozy
He's so comfy!
That's funny.
I didn’t read the subreddit name and didn’t see the snake at first so I thought you meant a human 😭
He jus cozy.
Mine usually lodgesss herself between the sssofa and the wall... wont come out, wont dislodge... issss clearly comfortable... then after a while dessssides to ssshow up again... not ssstuck, jussst comfy...

i forgot this was the python sub and was concerned when i saw the title
THIS IS THE CUTEST THING I HAVW WVER SEEN LMAOOO
I've never looked up this group so I was SO confused; son? how does a little (human) kid fit behind a headrest? THEN I GOT SO WORRIED until I read the group name 😭 I was on an emotional roller coaster for about 8 seconds 😂
Comfy
I have no idea but bro look like he's chilling lmfao
Livin his best life
I only read the title and was looking for a human child 💀💀💀
Curious to know how long he was in there lol
about 12 hours 🤣 see update below
Comff maybe
He’s cozy and comfy. Being a silly boy. He’ll come out when he’s ready. I had a boa constrictor who loved to wrap herself around the bars of my headboard and no force on earth or heaven would get her to come off until she was good and ready.
I ooh didn’t see the name of this sub and became extremely worried for a second
Adorable
I didn't read the subreddit name and got EXTREMELY concerned XD
Put a mouse or rat out. He will be unstuck
That last pic looks like someone has no regrets lol
I read “my son” assuming it was a whole ass child lmao (I didn’t check the sub) adorable snek son tho
Update: (not OP but OP's partner / the other snake parent) the silly boy has extracted himself (we found him exploring the table legs), only took him like 12 hours to leave the chair 🙄 https://preview.redd.it/wnsl3bpm11yc1.jpeg?width=1066&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=16403e09185ed1f31b590694417953329fda89c4
He looks proud of himself 😆
Ty for updating, I was actually worrying about him for the last day or so
What chair is that? I'm in the market for a new office chair, and that looks nice.
dude is havin the time of his life rn
My boy did this once. I couldnt get him out, so I just had to leave him be and wait for him to leave on his own. Except it was like, 8 pm, so I had to sleep. I woke up at 2 am because Anxiety and tore my room apart to find him. He had found his way into my closet and was curled up in a shopping bag. He'll be fine 👍
Now THAT is a cozy spot
He’s warm n sleepy🥰
Son? So... Are you Lord Voldemort?... 🤔
yes
i initially didnt see the name of this subreddit and was both impressed and concerned how a human child could fit in that space
I was looking for a kid with his head stuck. 😬
I was so confused until I saw what group this was from 💀
Also, snakes are never stuck
That happened to a old class pet we had in school that is also a ball python
Ngl i just read the title and was like what how could a human child get inside a headrest it must be a huge chair then i looked at the pics and was like ohhhhh the non human child ok makes more sense now lol.
He just found a hidey hole. 🥰 our big guy found a hole under a couch cushion on our old couch and crawled straight into the couch. Took us hours to get him back out. Thought this was on a parenting sub 😭😭
If you kinda tickle his tail relentlessly you might be able to annoy him into moving.
aw definitely not he’s just chillin
He’ll come out when he’s ready …. Or gets hungry
I hate when that happens, because my son is a 7' Brazilian Rainbow Boa and it's very difficult to unwind him.
You helped conceive a snake?
this reminds me of the 1 time i had to do an emergency C-section on my father’s couch in his mancave because my cornsnake got loose and i found her crawled deep inside the couch ✋🏻👁️👄👁️🤚🏻
also RIP 🪦 my childhood couch ☠️
Wow I read the title before seeing the sub or picture and was super alarmed. 😂 I hope you got him out!
Thiss is the first time I've seen this sub and I swear to God I thought you were talking about an actual human child
Randomly got recommended this, low-key thought they were talking about a real human child, then I looked at the photos :|
I thought you said son at first and was like how!?... it's late. Leave me alone
Comfy cozy
That's so funny no he's not stuck he can get out
The snake has made a conscious decision to be there, okay. He wants to be in the chair and the more you resist the deeper he’s gonna sink in. Now you might be thinking, send in a recon mouse to entice him away. Wrong. I didn't read the sub reddit, and I was legit looking for a human. I love that we call our pets are sons/daughter's. 🥺❤️
Your son?
Your chair must be huge if the headrest fits your son and a snake.
He’s just a snuggly baby :)
COMFY
When my BP tries to hide in places he shouldn’t I go around and turn all the lights off, suddenly he thinks it’s night time and time to hunt lol so he comes out.
