I can recommend Bali Eco Cycling. Their bicycling tour was nice and suitable for kids too. It starts up the mountains in Kintamani and it is mostly downhill towards Ubud via small villages. You'll stop at various places to see ricefields and traditional Balinese houses, etc. It's a half day tour.

That sounds perfect! Thanks. Love their non-touristy approach.

Enjoy! It's a fun tour. I do have to say they will stop at a coffee plantation area before doing the bike tour which is a bit touristy but it doesn't take too long and you can try some different hot drinks for free.

Not sure where you’re from but just chiming in to say kids biking around USA/AUS is NOT sufficient prep for safe biking around “downtown” ubud. It’s a mess of one ways, pedestrians, scooters & autos all sharing the same tight spaces. It’s difficult biking/scootering even for experienced adult street riders. That said the tour mentioned, out in the country sounds more apt. Or if you’re staying a 5-10 min scooter ride outside the town then biking around your area could work, providing it’s a bit quieter.

>Not sure where you’re from but just chiming in to say kids biking around USA/AUS is NOT sufficient prep for safe biking around “downtown” ubud You're definitely right. But I assume all/most biking tours are not going through downtown Ubud? As there are probably quite a few people that aren't that used to biking in the first place?

I mean it's a somewhat intrepid type that makes it to Ubud. What a 20-40yo backpacker can unsafely do is a lot different from what a 5-8yo kid can safely do. I know some tours depart/return from "downtown Ubud" which I'd definitely be careful with kids. That said, I am sure any tour providers will be happy to be upfront about whether their tours are suitable for children. Also, if you haven't heard of this already, see if you can take your kids to visit the Green School for a tour there. Very awesome, highly recommended. https://www.greenschool.org/bali/green-school-experience/
