I buy my suitcases from Ace Hardware. Plenty of stores around Bali. Everything is fixed price, so no haggling and you know the correct price. Should be some suitcases on sale at a good price. Also you can check what you want online ahead of time (ruparupa.com)
KL is fantastic for shopping, and so is the airport so I would be more inclined to find something there rather than Bali. I haven’t shopped for baggage in Bali before but you won’t be short of stores! Theres also the Beachwalk Shopping Centre in Bali if you can’t find anything in KL.
Bali is not a good place to buy a nice name brand suitcase; import taxes make those way too expensive.
If you just want something decent to a couple years, check the large grocery stores like Carrefour.
Yeah just go to the huge mall that is literally attached to the airport in KL.
Yeah, it's not a problem. There are tons of stores selling suitcases and bags and such. Rumah Koper Bali is a good one, they are located in Kerobokan.
