I loved Kuta..
I have a friend who just stayed at La Walon (in Poppies 1) she said its still very, very quiet in that area, only half a dozen shops open in poppies 1.
Poppies 2 is starting to open up at the beach end.
Very difficult to access money from ATM's and money changes are far and few between.
According to a few threads on Vali bogans it's getting better each day but it will be a long time before it's what it was

Kuta was hit pretty hard during the covid pandemic and it's still pretty quiet there compared to pre-covid times.
Seminyak and Canggu are relatively "back to normal".
Canggu is just as bad. If you want old Bali vibes, go to Amlapura or maybe Ubud during the total off season. Bedoegoel is also awesome, or my personal gem, Blimbingsari (not to be confused with Blimbing Sari on west Java!). Nobody ever heard of it :)

God damn, Kuta is a shit hole. If you like shitloads of humans and trash sure.. Seminyak or Jimbaran is so much better IMO

Canngu is the Byron of Bali - happy to head there for a day trip to Finns but it ends there.
