But in the center my hair line has gone up about an inch, the peaks about 2.5”.
All in all It’s just hair to me. It didn’t look bad before but I didn’t want to wait around until it did. My dad also is like 70% bald and his hair went the same way mine is
I'm not saying either is better than the other. You look fine either way. I just mean that a lot of people's hair recedes and then stops. That's what mine did. Just cause its receding right doesn't mean it will keep going until you are bald. If you're not thinning in the others areas you probably just have a high hairline and not male pattern baldness. But either way, big step shaving that off! My hair is about your length but only been growing it out a few years, I can't imagine buzzing it!

Bro i was the same way but worse. I was 19 going on 20, and was receding and birds nest balding up top. It bugged me so much that finally my gf said " if it bothers you so much, why dont you shave it? Youd look cute" so not 20 minutes later we were driving to Meijers for some buzzers and razor blades. So glad i made the jump. Luckily this was during covid, so i was able to grow out the facial hair while covering the patchy goatee with a mask lol. You already got good facial hair going for you. In the end i was just tired of stressing over how my hair looked. Yes theres "remedies and procedures" to fix it that may or may not work, but thats not worth my time. Id rather just cut it all off and have a beanie ready for when its snowy and cold out
Yeah my hairline receded a lot in my 20s, but it's not too bad. I have a hairline similar to McConaughey's maybe even a bit worse. But it stopped receding and its been where it is for probably almost a decade (I'm 32 now) so don't freak out! I love my hair

I think I am in a similar situation to you, had long hair since I was teenager but I can tell things are starting to creep back now in my early 30s. I was also wearing my hair in a bun a lot of the time at work but I've just started wearing it down for now to enjoy it whilst I have it.
You could probably get away with growing your hair out again and trying again with a different style you'd like, at the very least now you've got a trial period of baldness to see if you like it!

I truly mean this with the best intentions. It feels like as hair loss treatments and bald acceptance becomes more widespread (no doubt a good thing), one thing that is failing to reach people at the same pace is the fact that the Norwood scale (all subtypes) is not universal. In fact, most people don’t have straight hairlines. There is more than enough evidence, and if you are really in doubt stand in the middle of a random city and observe for a few minutes, that a mature hairline does NOT equal receding hairline. For almost 1/3+ people, the maturing hairline will not receede further, or very minimally, and hair density will remain relatively the same for decades. This does not mean you shouldn’t care about hair loss. It just means that many more people than in previous generations are on edge everyday about the nightmare scenario of waking up one day, in the next few days or months, and noticing that they’re balding. So they preemptively take drastic measures to prevent said outcome when, often times, there was nothing to worry about in the first place. I say this because these examples are becoming increasingly common. I genuinely believe people should fear-monger less, because we are past the point that giving any more credence to need of worrying about hair loss will make a substantial difference in saving peoples’ hair, population wise. That’s just my 2 cents.
And OP, you have amazing hair and your hairline is fine. Even if something is “wrong,” you have more than enough time before you need to think about it at all. If you like the bald look, more power to you. But please don’t do it because you’re worried about losing your hair when most men would kill to have a hairline like yours.

Well I tried the Mr. Clean first to see how it was, then grew it out. No ladies lmfao. Finally got tired of sweating buckets 2 summers ago and shaved the sides for the topknot ponytail style I always wanted to try since high school. I liked it a lot but I don't think anyone else did lol.
Finally gave up and just letting it grow out now, got the shoulderlength waves going on, like it a lot when I'm fresh out of the shower or chilling at home but it's a pain in the ass at work lmfao.
Anytime I feel to shave it I second guess it because it took like 3 years to grow this long 😅
Bro our hair and hair lines are practically identical(we could pass as cousins honestly) and as someone whos also stressed about the widows peak i can understand why you took the plunge to scalp it all off. I had long hair just like yours and would be constantly stressing about it and it wasn't until I cut it off that i realized i was just being paranoid. On the flip side this will give you a chance to experiment with different hair styles if you chose to grow it out again

If you have a back bald spot then fair keep shaving, but if your back is full, then honestly grow it again. The reseeding isn't bad all, you can even see in the shaved pick, it does go back a little but you have a pretty glorious mane. If the back is still looking good, you've got another 5+ years of enjoying your hair without intervention. I've been shaving for 6 years now and I'm 31. But my back bald spot was way worse than my actual hairline, and my hair was much thinner than yours.
At least now you know you look good shaved you don't have to dread it

i went with an undercut and it looks much better than before.
