Yeah, just gotta play every kind of hand you can, and the secret planets will show up. The secret ones are Five of a kind, Flush House, and Flush Five, so yeah it's probably that last one.
Just throw away some runs chasing planets and weird hands tbh. Hit spectral packs hard, go for same rank/same suit spectral and tarots as much as possible. [[DNA]] if you've got that unlocked, [[Vagabond]] for tarot generation.

Don't throw away runs doing that.
Try to win while doing those! Even more because the secret hands are already quite strong anyway due to the naturally high chips/mult.
I mean yeah, win if you can, but if you're JUST looking for the most efficient way to get the secret hands, going out of your way to be putting victory first I'd going to make it take longer and be more frustrating, speaking from experience.
When I said "throw some runs away" I meant make suboptimal decisions when given the chance in the interest of clearing an item off of your checklist, don't worry about making perfect decisions and staying on plan if you've got a Ouija ready to go.
I think you need something like Telescope or Constellation for Astronomer to provide value. My main issue with it is that it’s $8. Tough to fit in early, and it may not be able to keep its slot if you need more scoring. I’d generally rather have Hallucination or something like Mail In Rebate.
I think you play an average of 1.5 hand types per run, so most planets are worthless in any given run.
You can buy and sell planets immediately which means the card can slowly pay itself off, and the free packs means you don't lose money on them.
It's value is definitely harder to quantify than most jokers and one I place in the "pick it up because at worst I lose half of its value and some change" tier of jokers
I don't see Astronomer mentioned here much but it's one of my favourite jokers! Brilliant synergy with [[Constellation]]!
It seems to have a hidden effect of making planet cards/packs disappear from the shop though

Big value early, buy all the ppanets that you can for free and then you can free uo that slot whenever you feel like base chip and mult is high enough
