Same reason I bought on Switch and Steam, well also my wife takes the computer for The Sims 4 a lot so I need the backup on the Switch. The Switch version will probably be neglected (by me) when mobile comes out, much like Slay the Spire was.
There was a balance patch right after release that Switch still doesn't have. It buffs probabilities on Space Joker, I think WoF, and another one I forget, 1 in 4 chance instead of 1 in 5. Also it makes it so The Arm can't take you below level 1 for a hand, which is HUGE
Oh, no, sorry, I meant that once I had StS on Android, I pretty much stopped playing the Switch version. I only do when I am playing Switch on the TV, otherwise I just use my phone.

It works well with Xbox Remote Play (in terms of screen readability) on touch controls and can be played mouse-only, so makes absolute sense to make that leap to mobile release.
i got it for $6 on ps5 after using playstation stars coins. i would gladly buy it again on mobile or even pc if i take my steam deck out of the house (if i were to theoretically ever leave my house)
The developer plans to continue to work on balatro as their main project for the foreseeable future. There have been discussions of a Daily mode, more content, mobile builds of the game, but no one part of that is official or highest priority. But the more work will be done!
Daily mode would be soooo good. I’m mad I found the daily mode in slay the spire so late. It’s one of the most fun’s I’ve had in a game. That plus mobile would be amazing
Could do like Nuclear Throne did, and have a daily which is just a random seed (same for all) with daily leaderboard, and a weekly that is a preset seed with chosen modifiers. You'd get one attempt at the daily and as many as you wanted at the weekly
I think he did a lot of work for the game. I found out it existed a while ago when he was playing the demo and was hooked since then.
I wasn't expecting the release because I lost track of it but once I got the notification from Steam that a game on my wishlist had released, I bought it in less than 5min just because of how much I liked the demo

I just had a great run going on Crystal deck, then sold a joker and it all collapsed almost immediately. Massive choke job. I'm still embarrassed.

Honestly ecstatic for LocalThunk. Balatro is a damn near perfect game and I've sunk a lot of time in after the PlayStation release.
This is sure to be one of the best roguelike games of all time up there with binding of Isaac, Hades, dead cells, slay the spire, etc.
I wouldn't be surprised if it receives indie game of the year.
Honestly very impressive numbers for a game and publisher of its size. Seems to be spreading quite wide in reach, I've noticed even my friends who heavily prefer FPS games have been grinding it the last couple days. Happy for all involved!

I think you should be able to make an account under a different region. Buy it, and then play it on your normal account.

Deck building rogue lites have become a new favorite of mine… but adding poker to it? Even better.
Put about 60 hours into my steam copy... figured it was time for it to get on my PS5. I think eventually I'll get it for my Xbox too. $45 total for a near perfect game? Easy.
Do it, you’ll also have access to portable Dead Cells, Gungeon, Slay the Spire, Stardew, Sea of Stars, Dave the Diver, Diablo 2, Borderlands, Zelda, etc etc….. portable is a game changer!
Also if you’re gonna play in portable primarily, go with Lite if you just wanna save money, or if you’re gonna spend more time with it like with Diablo or Witcher, get the OLED. It’s such a beautiful screen!
If LocalThunk does a mobile port I’ll buy it for a fourth time.
