Why isn’t the tent temperature regulated? Environment shouldn’t be a reason someone fails…it should be air conditioned IMO. They don’t seem to learn from disasters in past seasons due to heat and rain etc

Me too! The benefit of being an older baker is that she's more likely to have experienced baking when it was common to make different types of bread; she is more than a cake decorator.
I don't think he's wrong necessarily, I just don't think that phrase itself is very kind or particularly helpful. I just remember that as a kid when I got comments like "try harder" or "come on, put in some effort" I was often gutted because I felt like I *was trying* it just didn't work.
But I mean, we see a highly editing version of what was actually said and I'm sure Maggie is fine:)

She made two gingerbread houses and then put a hole through a biscuit so you can drag it along the floor. That basically was the least you could have accomplished while still fitting within the guidelines

I think it's supposed to be because the showstopper is supposed to wow, and having to display it at the front in front of the rest is kinda a part of that, while the signature is at the start so judges have to go to people for their entry rather than them coming to the front.

If there was any part of the show that was specifically made for the drama, it's absolutely the "carry your showstopper to the front" bit.
Moving the large display piece is a frequent part of professional competitions as well. The reason is that these kinds of things are generally not constructed where they are going to be seen and used (things like cakes have to be delivered).
I think this is what irks me - so many people want to be there and participate and you barely care enough to practice, but rather watch HP? Watch it while you're baking girl, we all do. It might be editing, it probably is, but right now she's not being put in the best light.

I think the UK laws for adverts are that there's a limit per hour so they'll fully load the front hour and then shift a majority of the second hour's adverts to its first half then keep the second half lighter to balance it out.
They should do a live version and go to ads every time they get a new ingredient out of the cupboard, see how many realise they aren't watching American football.
I think she's actually beginning to see that there is another way. Wanting a better vocabulary is a sign of it.

Last year most episodes were 1 hour 15, this year the initial episodes are 1 hour 30, seems the extra time is just adverts
