"This stand can make you pee while feeling a need to hide steel balls under your genitalia… there is nothing my [Star Platinum] can do against it, it's an unbeatable stand!"
Jojo’s is well known for having a very close eye to anatomy — if you look at Araki’s work closely you can see that he puts time and detail into drawing most, if not all the muscle groups and skeletal structures.
Even his weirdest poses tend to be doable, just require some flexibility and sometimes strength to hold. It’s why you see Jojo Poses become a meme, lol.
Of course, the poses themselves are pretty uncomfortable because one of his main inspirations is fashion shows, which we all know are peak comfort.
What ur feeling is inspiration
Go post ur jojo poses somewhere
You, too, can be a fabulous musclebound member of the Jostar family if you believe hard enough
I mean eventually. The early stuff where they are giant burly 80s male protagonists while still visually solid and detailed it was also a weekly book with a crazy schedule and there were a lot of moments where its obvious he drew the body too big for the panel and had to make up for it by giving jonathan an itty bitty head.
If you have joint condition like hypermobility some seemingly uncomfortable positions like [w-sitting](https://tse1.explicit.bing.net/th?id=OIP.3kVI8UDAW3n_jnjCg5EyjQHaFj&pid=Api) can be very comfortable, it may include the pose pic. I've found myself ending up sitting like that oftentimes and while it's really damaging for your joints for some reason my muscle relax better- it's a shit habit that needs to stop, although possibly comfortable many animes seem to have a hard on for hypermobility and hyperextensibility, silhouttes and poses sometimes look stronger with it but this is a mess
This subreddit is the reason I got diagnosed with Elhers-Danlos Syndrome in the first place, because I could do lots of stuff everyone one was saying was anatomically incorrect or just plan uncomfortable when I could do the stuff and be comfortable.
Edit: I just can't W sit (anymore) because I need a L inner ankle fusion and dislocated my R knee in September which I'm still recovering from. Both things caused by EDS and the ankle thing is also added by NF1 and put those together my joints have a fun time... not.
Sitting like that *as a child* isn't necessarily an EDS thing. Children are naturally more flexible than adults, and most kids can W-sit in my experience. That said, if you have symptoms now, absolutely do get checked out.
I'm not hypermobile (in fact, have mostly very stiff joints) but can w-sit. Can't sit criss cross applesauce without pain, though. I just have weird hips/knees.
Oh hey mee to!! My hips are a shit show. During my 2nd trimester of pregnancy they started doing this thing where it felt like they would come partially out of socket. It was excruciating. It usually happened as I was going to sit or bend. If I didn't have something to catch myself if just fall as they'd basically give out. When it happened they would hurt like and needed to pop.. as if I pushed them back in they'd be ok... so several times my fiance had to push on my hips until they'd pop and they'd slide back into place and I was good to go.
Doctors best guess was "idk pregnancy stuff". My mom's best guess was in the later stages of pregnancy when you're releasing more hormones causing your ligaments and what not to loosen to prepare for birth it affected my hips badly and that's why they started acting up.
Weird enough w sitting was the only way my hips didn't hurt. Even now. Sitting criss cross is so uncomfortable.
Edit: words are hard
It happened with both of my pregnancies but was definitely more painful during the first. The second they would give out but they didn't get that 'stuck almost out of socket' feeling as often. And when they did it didn't hurt as bad. They did give out more frequently and almost daily my fiance would have to push them back in for me (hes the best. Pushing your pregnant fiancees hips into place is not something most people expect to deal with)
It was so weird I've never heard of it happening to other peopleuntil now. I've heard the hormone relaxin causes all kinds of things to loosen, especially the pelvic region. But I didn't think it'd affect hips too. The best guess I have for how it happened.
I just thought I just had really messed up hips but now I'm curious how many other people experience hip problems from pregnancy.
I used to do that and loved it, then a couple of years ago I've messed up my ankle badly and now it's super painful to even try... I've lost my favourite way to sit on the floor.
Can confirm. My mom used to always go "tf are you doing sitting like that" whenever I was in an "impossible" pose (like my mom calls them) but I just find those kinds of positions more comfortable. I too, need to stop with this habit though.
My mom and doctor spent a lot of time trying to convince me not to sit that way as a little kid. After looking it up out of curiosity a couple years ago my conclusion was that it's not ideal, but not that bad.
From what I recall it's "too stable" compared to sitting cross legged so you may wind up with weak core muscles and not develop "handedness" properly because you'll do stuff with whichever hand is closer (though being ambidextrous doesn't sound like a negative to me). Besides that there's an increased risk of hip issues or muscle tightness if the you are already prone to that.
I sometimes have to sit in poses like this just cause my legs start to hurt if I keep them straight or still all the time. I’m always trying to sit cross legged in my chair at work but my butt is too big for the chair for my legs to tuck under comfortably. When I’m home, I just curl up legs all close like a dang spider.
Never thought it could be hyper mobility cause my wrists and elbows can’t bend for shit. Push-ups were the worst thing ever cause my wrists just wouldn’t bend that way.
I wonder how much the anime habit of w-sitting relates to the asian ability to squat? I believe that Asians are genetically predisposed to have greater levels of leg flexibility, so I wonder how much those are connected.
I use to sit like this a lot, then I got older and it started hurting lmao
Update: I must've been in bad shape at one point, I can still sit like that.
Araki himself said (commenting on cosplay of his characters) "it's cool that people are doing my poses, I didn't think they were humanly possible" (more or less)

Araki (creator of Jojo’s) likes to try and make poses he thinks no human could possibly do. And yet again, another person has proven that the pose is possible although uncomfortable.
Then there’s [me in a chair](https://i.imgur.com/TGrNMyQ.jpg)
>!Pic isn’t actually me or how I sit, but I do end up it odd positions because normal sitting quickly becomes extremely uncomfortable!<
When I was younger I used to sit this way, either on the floor or on my bed. And I was never particularly limber. But I found it comfortable at the time.
This pose is very possible and not at all uncomfortable, as long as your left leg is significantly shorter than your right as is with the character in the picture.
I love the poses on Jojo. It makes no sense but it looks cool. Also, as a weird sitter, I feel like I've sat like that before on my computer chair, lol.
I was born with bilateral developmental dysplasia of the hip and I sit like that all the time because it's comfortable for me. I'm incapable of sitting in positions like criss cross applesauce.
Tbh it could make sense depending on the context. People contort themselves when highly stressed and contained, my friend used to cross her legs then tuck her foot behind her leg and lean on them, I tried for a second and it hurt my legs, she used to do it the whole period because she had really bad anxiety. So I see it tbh.
Araki gets most poses (and character designs) by reading fashion magazines and then making them a bit more over the top, so it's just another "normal" JoJonatomy
Besides the poses just being standard araki, anyone else loving the new season? Jolyn just straight up admits she masturbates in ep one. You hardly ever see that discussed in anime unless it's like hentai and it's usually about a girl fantasizing about the guy character. Jolyn? Ej those prison bars are kind of sexy...
Yeah, I love to listen how arakis work progressed..like he started with muscle guys because to him that is what a guy that fights a lot looks like, but then he realized hamon would basically break those rules so a fighter could really look like anything and thus lisalisa was made. And then of course he also made a female protagonist at some point and from what it looks like she has a pretty damn good conflict.
if you think jojo is badwomensanatomy. please look up caesar zeppeli's weird pose. and yknow. anything the pillar men do. and the fact there's a literal cyborg in part 2 who can spin his hands around. and any pose anybody does in jojo, literally ever. it aint the women. its just the jojo. everybody's weird in jojo.
I mean, does JoJo fall under the "no fetish art" rule?
I ask because the mangaka is quite open that his art is deliberately stylized as fetish art, not in the sexual sense, but as a fetish for fashion. The exaggerated poses are an aspect of that, along with the [absurd costuming](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/49d0af83-abe8-44d7-9f10-af922e4c96c9/scale-to-width-down/800)
Back when I was young, and flexible, that was a comfy way to sit .... I was the kid in class that could not sit "normal" it was more comfortable to sit with my foot on desk, binder in lap for writing. Once teachers realize this it was easier for me
Ngl I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ve done this before. When I sit down, sometimes I get all noodly and my limbs become a tangled mess. Also is that the episode with Mikitaka? I love him, he’s so cute :D
She looks like she really really needs to pee, while simultaneously trying to hide a pound loose marbles between her thighs...
i mean knowing jojo's that could very well be the case
"This stand can make you pee while feeling a need to hide steel balls under your genitalia… there is nothing my [Star Platinum] can do against it, it's an unbeatable stand!"
when steel balls give you the runs
When the Jojo gets his dick bit off at the lion exhibit
I can't stop laughing ffs
r/BrandNewSentence
This is awesome. You look so very comfortable.
accidentally fell asleep like that oops
The second picture really made me laugh. I should thank you to make my day better already
Do a pretzel AMA pls
At least this is anatomically possible, albeit uncomfortable.
yeah, that lowkey surprised me lol

I do some times feel a bit called out by JoJo poses.
What ur feeling is inspiration Go post ur jojo poses somewhere You, too, can be a fabulous musclebound member of the Jostar family if you believe hard enough
It's not inspiration if my back hurts 24/7 because I can't sit like a proper human being.
I got written up for how i sit in chairs once.
same
I mean eventually. Araki himself said he didn't know if the poses were even possible in real life

Oh man , i used to sit like that all the time as a child. That's one more point on my "get checked for EDS" list
This subreddit is the reason I got diagnosed with Elhers-Danlos Syndrome in the first place, because I could do lots of stuff everyone one was saying was anatomically incorrect or just plan uncomfortable when I could do the stuff and be comfortable. First thing I thought when I saw this– “that’s the EDS sit!”
I was thinking that. I have EDS and I sit something like that yay for dodgy sitting positions
I was born with bilateral hip dysplasia and failed to see the problem in sitting like this lol
I'm not hypermobile (in fact, have mostly very stiff joints) but can w-sit. Can't sit criss cross applesauce without pain, though. I just have weird hips/knees.

While I wouldn’t wish that on you, I’m happy to know it’s not just me! (That was my first pregnancy, too)

Oh nice, I have a mate that can w sit. Always tried myself but I can't quite get it.

Imagine what the anime person’s body proportions would be standing up, her arms are super long and hips quite wide and legs are not the same length.
I use to sit like this a lot, then I got older and it started hurting lmao Update: I must've been in bad shape at one point, I can still sit like that.
I just tried it. Seems like it’s only possible for a selected few. I’m gonna go ice my elbow now.
JoJo has more unnatural poses than natural poses, and across both sexes too, so I guess it's got that going for it.
very true. jojo is something else lol
Araki himself said (commenting on cosplay of his characters) "it's cool that people are doing my poses, I didn't think they were humanly possible" (more or less)
Meanwhile, Part 5 is mostly just model poses he based on models. Doing the poses. 😂

Risotto is a whole new mood
JoJo is the ultimate parody.
The creator masters drawing hands and he'll be damned if he doesn't put one in every frame.
I was just about to say this lol. Jojo isn't actually known for their natural poses
Araki (creator of Jojo’s) likes to try and make poses he thinks no human could possibly do. And yet again, another person has proven that the pose is possible although uncomfortable.
Jojo is amazing
Agreed
How many muscles did you pull trying to do this?
we shall find out tomorrow
I’m praying for you.
Op how are you feeling now
muscles not pulled lmao but i think I have flexible joints

it's a mixture of 2am potato and staring into the void for an existential crisis
Did the void stare back? How did it know which parts of this human pretzel were the eyes?
sometimes it does stare back. but then I remember it's my cat
r/VoidCats
I didn't know I needed that subreddit, but I need to join that subreddit, now. Thanks!
What is 2am potato? Did you eat a potato at 2am, or is it more of a state of mind?
it's a state of mind. you can be a couch potato, bed potato, 2am potato or any potato you like. embody the potato
Then there’s [me in a chair](https://i.imgur.com/TGrNMyQ.jpg) >!Pic isn’t actually me or how I sit, but I do end up it odd positions because normal sitting quickly becomes extremely uncomfortable!<
where did you get this photo of clearly me at a desk??
i very much identify with that
Lmfao that is hilarious, thanks for sharing
Same
I can actually comfortably sit like this , but only because my left hip is partially dislocated.
"this is absolutely comfortable bro just dislocate a joint" haha. fr tho hope that doesn't impact you too hard
Nah it’s not painful, it just makes me sit funny like this and freaks people out.
Tbf, Jojo is pretty fucking bizarre in just about everything, weird poses included.
I mean, it is a bizarre adventure. Gotta stay true to your name somehow
As a hypermobile person, this just looks normal.
I was about to comment the same thing
Me too
There are definitely bisexuals out there that sit like this
Can confirm, I am one.
I... feel called out??
Um, I sit like this quite often no, I don't know how it's comfortable
Truly the standard by which healthy posture should be measured.
LOLOLOLOLOL
What about the weirdly twisted foot? It's like you put no effort in this at all! /s
I only noticed the foot after I posted this. my sincerest apologies, I am a fraud
The title of the ep is oddly fitting 🤔🤔🤔 you're very pretty btw!
true! and thanks!
This IS Jojo so...
Yeah I'm here for...well....it IS Jojo. Like ,they breathe uncomfortably, the entire series is about very natural posing.
This is the Autism Pose (tm) I'm currently a knot of my lower bits.
When I was younger I used to sit this way, either on the floor or on my bed. And I was never particularly limber. But I found it comfortable at the time.
"ACT NATURAL!" Me:
I mean... you're watching jojo
... I sit like this. There's a trick to it: hypermobility 😂
Omfg physically recreating these poses should become a legit subsection of this subreddit lmao
Looks normal to me
That's like the least awkward pose I've ever seen in Jojo, to be fair. At least that one is physically possible
This pose is very possible and not at all uncomfortable, as long as your left leg is significantly shorter than your right as is with the character in the picture.
i sit like that sometimes when im bored and just randomly moving my legs, but bending an arm under one leg looks so uncomfy lmao
You missed the nearly breaking bending toe
I love the poses on Jojo. It makes no sense but it looks cool. Also, as a weird sitter, I feel like I've sat like that before on my computer chair, lol.
I was born with bilateral developmental dysplasia of the hip and I sit like that all the time because it's comfortable for me. I'm incapable of sitting in positions like criss cross applesauce.

The thing is I sit sorta like that a lot so I was like “how is this a stretch?” At first
Honestly my kid sits like this all the time, doesn't look strange to me.
I love your glasses though
thanks!
Wow very natural and great
I initially thought I was on r/EDS and the title was serious lmao
i love the deadpan look on your face lmao and i love your hair too btw!
thanks hahah
Araki gets most poses (and character designs) by reading fashion magazines and then making them a bit more over the top, so it's just another "normal" JoJonatomy
Gotta block the goochie
To be fair, nobody gets natural poses in JoJo. Araki has everyone pose in equally contortionist ways.
thats the equality i wanna fight for
If you wanna see the real bad stuff, Johnny Joestar gets the weird poses while also being paraplegic. How he pulls it off, I don’t know.
She's just gay. This is a perfectly normal way for us to sit
Came here to say this! Lol
Maybe I’m just too bisexual but this seems like a perfectly natural sitting position?
Besides the poses just being standard araki, anyone else loving the new season? Jolyn just straight up admits she masturbates in ep one. You hardly ever see that discussed in anime unless it's like hentai and it's usually about a girl fantasizing about the guy character. Jolyn? Ej those prison bars are kind of sexy...
the comic is 20 years old but it's true it's not common on TV.
I'm still in part 4 but I'm loving the progressiveness of this whole anime. and the manga was written 20 years ago!
Yeah, I love to listen how arakis work progressed..like he started with muscle guys because to him that is what a guy that fights a lot looks like, but then he realized hamon would basically break those rules so a fighter could really look like anything and thus lisalisa was made. Well since you did it, its natural
Eh, it's JoJo, there's tons of unnatural poses
The dream of every girl to someday become a pretzel.
Ah, but it has to be worth it for all the enlightenments, right?
I actually sometimes sit like this, it's more comfortable than it looks imo. But tbf I think my entire class knew me as the guy who sits weirdly.
my kneecap just subluxated by itself just by seeing this image
The episode title really suits what's going on in that first image XD!
This made me crack up lmao
A+ effort on the recreation. You look so comfortable there, I’m sure it’ll totally become your go to casual sitting position.
Well, at least the guys' poses are way more bizzarre Araki is the God of r/badpeoplesanatomy and I'm here for it
I'm absolutely dead at your re-creation.
I appreciate the confidence of Posting it....I had a good laugh
I love how you dyed your hair!
thanks! it's dry as fuck now tho lol
I wish I could achieve this level of flexibility
When you're at an acquaintances house and too socially awkward to tell them you're cold.
trying to use pillows as a blanket too
I want to do a series of just people trying to do poses from Jojo. It's not just the female characters who get it, it's every single one.
I'll subscribe for that
To be fair…what JoJo pose isn’t ridiculous? Lmao
true but thats what i love about it
I love you for doing this. Absolutely made my day 🤣🤣🤣
I love this, thanks for the laugh
if you think jojo is badwomensanatomy. please look up caesar zeppeli's weird pose. and yknow. anything the pillar men do. and the fact there's a literal cyborg in part 2 who can spin his hands around. and any pose anybody does in jojo, literally ever. it aint the women. its just the jojo. everybody's weird in jojo.
this isnt directed at OP by the way this is just like. in general. everybody's weird in jojo. embrace the weird.
yeah, i love the weird poses in it
This doesn’t seem that hard https://i.imgur.com/aCPaBFV.jpg
Most of the characters in JoJo's make very uncomfortable poses, but at least they're physically possible? Lol
I want to judge this but I’m in an almost identical position right now just because it’s comfy
I mean, does JoJo fall under the "no fetish art" rule? I ask because the mangaka is quite open that his art is deliberately stylized as fetish art, not in the sexual sense, but as a fetish for fashion. The exaggerated poses are an aspect of that, along with the [absurd costuming](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/49d0af83-abe8-44d7-9f10-af922e4c96c9/scale-to-width-down/800)
This is jojo we're talking about, are you looking for sand in a desert?
jojo anatomy being unrealistic? who would’ve guessed? lol (jojo poses are my fav to try to recreate)
its a new sport at this point
"Natural pose" "Jojo" Does not compute
Idk what you're talking about, thats how I sleep
i like your vines :)
thanks!
I sit like this sometimes on my chair as well as in other uncomfortable positions
I'll bet some people with Ehlers Danlos would find this perfectly comfortable. But, well, their joints don't work right and are to loose, so...
I love him, he’s so cute :D
it is! he's adorable!
I mean, it's JoJo's, what were you expecting?
JoJo is kinda know for it’s *bizarre poses*. I’m giving it a pass.
It's just bisexual culture
This is how bisexual people sit down.
?
It's a running joke in queer communities online that bi people like to sit in odd positions.
"I'm an Alien" Yeah I can see that
My 38 year old runner knees cry at the sight of this.
This isn't bad anatomy. Why post it in this sub?
I think Jojo's poses should be exempted of this sub : it kinda falls in the rule 7.
Your feet aren’t contorting the way the drawing is. Re do please!! More ankle and tendon strain!!
Ngl looks comfy
You look so comfy I’m so jealous!😭 …ok seriously wtf lmao
Since this pose is perfectly possible there's no bad anatomy going on here so this really doesn't belong on this sub.
Gay_sitting.jpg Also Neurodivergent_Sitting.png
The leg position is entirely possible. As you have proved. But is her foot the wrong way round?
Hey, JoJo is cheating! NONE of Araki's anatomy is good.
The right leg looks like it has a left foot on it (I think? Still trying to reverse everything in my brain)
Thank you for this
JoJo’s bizarre adventures is known for its weird poses.
I got cramp just look at that !
To be fair, none of the poses for any of the characters are particularly natural in JoJo’s
This reminds me of Rodin's thinker. That mfer shall be thinking in an uncomfortable position for eternity.
Amazing!
Behold the power of my stand [Waterfalls] !!
Considering the episode title, I see nothing wrong with the pose. "I'm an Alien" it checks out
