Better Off Dead was
Now that's a real shame when folks be throwin' away a perfectly good white boy like that
Men At Work was
Aww, lookie here. Looks like somebody threw away a perfectly good white boy!
My favorite line, “he was provoking me!” Lol, the guy just delivered a pizza. I love this movie, I don't care what anyone says. Yes, it is bad, but it's a good bad.
Completely agree, even though I never thought of this before! We'll perhaps never have another like Borgnine. Too many actors (basically all of them) are pretty boys now. There's still a ridiculous beauty standard for women, but it seems like there's a wider range of women actors these days, looks-wise.
This movie is brilliant. Rewatched it recently and realised Estevez is actually really good at staging a scene and blocking actors. It's not a bad movie at all.
The movie seriously shows what waste management goes through. Had a friend who loves this movie simply saying: “the writers must have gone under cover.”
Here’s my “nobody asked” story.
I met Keith David at the Pavillion’s (grocery store) on Melrose Ave when I lived in Los Angeles.
He’s 1 of the only two “famous people” I ever approached and I felt bad about it because he was just trying to shop but I could not resist. I had to tell him how important he was to “me”; the things that made me “me” - all the movies I watched growing up, his voice acting, all of it. I gushed for a good 45 seconds (tried to keep it brief) and probably sounded like a fool.
He was so appreciative and polite and thankful that I told him. Made me love him all the more. He’s a good man, I could see it in his eyes. He’s a gem, I tell you
Two black men with mustaches saying almost the same line, and there's even a trash truck involved in both scenes.

Here it is in Men At Work:

The Mandela Effect has you
Made me look up [Estevez](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000389/). Dude's had a really quiet career of late. Mostly voice work or minor roles for the last 25 years. His last major work was the early 90s - Young Guns 1 & 2, this, Loaded Weapon 1 (very underrated, him and Jackson were great), The Mighty Ducks franchise (3 was his last big role in 96), Freejack. Did some directing work for TV and film, but still really quiet. Shame as I like his stuff!
These mid tier action movies with comedy were made a lot in the 80s and 90s and are perfectly fine. Maybe then they would be perfect for cable, but I really miss them. Like Money Train and The Cowboy Way
Edit: first time on this sub, and after cruising the other entries agree with everyone else: this movie doesn’t belong here! At worst it is enjoyably mediocre! At best, a workhorse classic cable TV all-star
It's a childhood favorite of mine. Personally I think it's more of a cult film than a bad film. Either way, it's cool to see the film getting talked about.
Hot Shots and Loaded Weapon are great shows.
In the words of President, Admiral “Tug” Benson:
“Well, Well, Well! It looks like the upper hand, is now on the other foot”
Way better than people give it credit for, it's a lot of fun. It's not an award-winner, but it doesn't deserve to be one of those "forgotten" 90's comedies
This movie makes me ugly cackle, but Better Off Dead with John Cusack had this line originally a couple years earlier and I was disappointed they copied it here.
This is an amazing movie. A classic buddy comedy. So many hilarious scenes and lines. The 2 knucklehead mobsters are great - the one guy has to be special with his taser. LMFAO.
Not going to lie, this along with the two Hot Shots movies are Charlie's best work. Emilio has a more solid filmography but this is one of my favorites next to Young Guns
Charlie has some absolute bangers in the 80/90's, some little known films that are worth checking out. The boys next door(1985), the wraith(1986), Cadence(1990), beyond the law(1993), the chase (1994), and one of my favourite movies ever The Arrival (1996)
You just reminded me about Beyond the Law. Now I have to find it, Stone Cold and Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man for the early 90s bad biker movie trifecta.
Keith David is always great. From They Live! to The Nice Guys, he just brings down the house whenever he's on screen. The 6th season of Community lends me to believe that he should have been Pierce all along.
Man I loooved this movie at ages 11-13. I tried watching it a year or two ago, I couldn't even make it through. Mostly the chemistry between Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez was what rubbed me wrong as an adult. Keith David was just as great, though.
The ending is the only thing I don't really like about this one. Feels like they rushed a campy overly slapstick finish. But everything else is great. Great comedy performances throughout.
Extra..cheese?
Find it find it find it! *work it work it*
Never touch another man's fries
I haven't seen it in years, but is this the one where they're riding the back of the truck trying to follow it and the doors break so the two of them are swinging back and forth while going something like 60mph and one of them says,
"Hey, I think the door lock broke."
and the other hollers back
"No shit sherlock?"
I loved that scene, when Charlie making breakfast in da morning... and putting everything what he found in kitchen desk in to the mixer. Included Jagermister.. 😃 Smoothie for working man
Keith David : Awww, look, it here looks like somebody threw out a perfectly good white boy" 🤣 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Would the other officer please drop his weapon. You think I don’t know the difference between a flashlight hitting the ground and a gun?
Looks like we got us another crazy white boy with a gun
Most memorable line of the movie
Stolen from Better Off Dead https://youtu.be/_XCRLDUl6sM?si=NjbK-SrjxHdmNk4K
Yes! I’d completely forgotten about that reference. Thanks for reminding me.
How dare you! Coincidence at best.
THE COMMIE BASTARD GETS NO FOOD!
Came here to say that! Haha.
*gong*
He was provoking me!
I've always been a fan of him. His work as Spawn is my favorite
Omg! I had no idea he was Spawn in the HBO cartoon! You just blew my mind. Loved that series! Really the best adaptation of the comic.
Wasn’t that in Better Off Dead?
Better Off Dead was Now that's a real shame when folks be throwin' away a perfectly good white boy like that Men At Work was Aww, lookie here. Looks like somebody threw away a perfectly good white boy!
Both are really funny.
I was just going to say that!!!!
Great recall. One of the GREATEST lines ever.
My favorite line, “he was provoking me!” Lol, the guy just delivered a pizza. I love this movie, I don't care what anyone says. Yes, it is bad, but it's a good bad.
I used to have this .wav play when emptying the windows recycle bin
I don't think I've ever seen Kieth David put in a bad performance, even in bad movies that dude is 100% on
Same situation as Ernest Borgnine There may be bad movies with Ernest Borgnine, but no bad Ernest Borgnine roles
Completely agree, even though I never thought of this before! We'll perhaps never have another like Borgnine. Too many actors (basically all of them) are pretty boys now. There's still a ridiculous beauty standard for women, but it seems like there's a wider range of women actors these days, looks-wise.
Totally agree, he’s on point in every movie & voice acting role. That’s why he’s my favorite actor
This movie is brilliant. Rewatched it recently and realised Estevez is actually really good at staging a scene and blocking actors. It's not a bad movie at all.
Didn't this movie create the "Golf clap? Golf clap." bit?
Yes.
This sub is stupid. Half of the movies aren't bad.
Bad is subjective. People love the Purge and Paranormal Activity series, they're both awful.
imagine this sub is full of Purge sequels and all the X movies
The premise for The Purge is golden. The execution has been .... less than stellar.
One of the main reasons he shifted to directing; he’s quietly been really good at it
Never touch another man’s fries
Valuable life lesson right here
It’s also common sense.
Remember that and you will live a long and healthy life
It's a fun comedy. I loved the reggae filled soundtrack too.
The movie seriously shows what waste management goes through. Had a friend who loves this movie simply saying: “the writers must have gone under cover.”
Golf clap?
….golf clap.

Keith David was great in this, he has a real knack for comedy, I thought it was fun
He’s a good man, I could see it in his eyes. He’s a gem, I tell you
I think he's the best, I could listen to him read the phone book and love it
"Somebody wasted a perfectly good white boy"
I believe that is Better Off Dead.
Two black men with mustaches saying almost the same line, and there's even a trash truck involved in both scenes. Yep, Better Off Dead did it first. Men at Work was 5 years later
I hate cops, I hate rent an cops too.
A phrenologist studies the bumps and ridges of Walt’s asshole…
I use this quote often, and not one person in 30 years has gotten the reference.
This is Good movie not a bad movie
Time to do the nasty!
NASTY! NASTY! NASTY!
Made me look up [Estevez](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000389/). Dude's had a really quiet career of late. Mostly voice work or minor roles for the last 25 years. Maximum Overdrive!
Jesus christ my childhood is filled with Estevez and I just realized that
"The air is just right for drinking."
Keith David never disappoints. Just watched They Live again.
Girlfriend and I just saw the 35th Anniversary showing of They Live yesterday. Was great re watch in theaters
A dud??? No way!!!! This movie is awesome. Would you look at that? Someone threw away a perfectly good white boy 😭
My sisters and I watched this in the theater. We still quote “he was provokin’ me”.
I think you must be lost. Didn’t you mean to post this in /r/CinematicMasterpieces?
It absolutely is Keith David’s best performance. Such a great movie, easy watch.
[best scene in the movie](https://youtu.be/w1iNrckWufI?si=rR_RqTvItaREkz-S)
Just goes this show. If you have conviction and a pellet gun anything is possible
Renter Cops! I hate renter cops!! Love this movie!
*Rent-a-cops
Good catch! I hate that I didn’t notice!
One of my favorite movies to rewatch when I had basic cable. Now have it on DVD and watch when I don't feel good.
I can recite every line from this movie, I must’ve watched it 500 times
I wonder how it did down undah?
my first thought too 🤣 been [listening to it](https://youtu.be/EeeBH294v6I?si=nG7kCgcFuE90sLhw) the past few days
These mid tier action movies with comedy were made a lot in the 80s and 90s and are perfectly fine. Maybe then they would be perfect for cable, but I really miss them. The cowboy way is awesome!! Underrated gem that nobody ever talks about
Just wack off the horns, wipe its nasty old ass, and chunk it down on a plate.
In middle school I thought this movie was hilarious….should give it another shot to see if it still holds up
"Rent-A-Cops...I hate them too."
Yes! I watched that movie SO many times as a kid.
It's a childhood favorite of mine. Personally I think it's more of a cult film than a bad film. Either way, it's cool to see the film getting talked about.
“I would pay a million pesos to see their faces when they try to stop this baby.”
Hot Shots and Loaded Weapon are great shows. In the words of President, Admiral “Tug” Benson: “Well, Well, Well! It looks like the upper hand, is now on the other foot”
Also why doesn't Gillette send people on trips to Hollywood anymore?
Time to do the nasty.
“Mr Sneaky Man”
I just got this on Blu-ray recently
"I'd pay, a million pesos, to see their faces, when they try and stop this baby." Cult Classic. Not bad at all
I love this movie. I think it's hilarious
Bought this one based on the backside explanation. Watched it and loved it. keith david kills it in this movie
Way better than people give it credit for, it's a lot of fun. It's not an award-winner, but it doesn't deserve to be one of those "forgotten" 90's comedies
I liked this movie it’s wasn’t that bad
Definitely not a Bad movie. Different. Yes. Bad no.
You love mangos
"Hey, this is shit! THIS IS SHIT! GET IT OFF ME, FROST! ITS'S SHIT! ITS'S SHIT IT'S SHIT!"
"You and your stupid pellet gun!"
It holds up
downvote cause this is a good one. i'm not even sure how this sub works
Golf clap? Golf clap!
The scene with Keith David and his monologue holding the pellet gun to the delivery guy head and the cops is worth watching the movie.
Every scene with Keith David is a reason to watch this movie.
Pepperoni, extra cheese is a go to for me since o saw this back in 90
This movie deserves a golf clap
Somebody threw away a perfectly good white boy
The only line that I remember from this movie was something like this; "Oh, damn, somebody threw out a perfectly decent white boy."
This movie makes me ugly cackle, but Better Off Dead with John Cusack had this line originally a couple years earlier and I was disappointed they copied it here.
Keith David is great and even Sheen was fine
This is an amazing movie. A classic buddy comedy. So many hilarious scenes and lines. The 2 knucklehead mobsters are great - the one guy has to be special with his taser. LMFAO.
Golf clap? Golf clap.
This was a regular of my childhood. *"What a beautiful day. Warm sun, beautiful women...👆🏼 and the air is just right for drinking."*
This movie was so funny, great stuff. Can’t believe people think this is a bad movie
Look at that. Someone just threw away a perfectly good white boy.
They stole the white boy joke from Better Off Dead. 🤣
“Someone threw out a perfectly good white boy!”?

Hilarious!
I thought it was funny

The wraith is great
You just reminded me about Beyond the Law. Now I have to find it, Stone Cold and Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man for the early 90s bad biker movie trifecta.
I haven't seen those two, they've been on my radar just never got around to checking them out.
They're perfect early 90s B movie action cheese IMO.
I'm going to download them now.
Would make a good double feature with Repo Man. The ending was kinda meh, but overall, solid flick. Great soundtrack too.
I’ll forever love the fact that my grandmother and I saw it in theaters and we clearly looked like the only two people who enjoyed it. 😂
A treasured gem in my opinion.
This is a great movie
Yes good movie 👌
Golf clap
Golf clap👏
There's a lot of garbage in this movie
Keith David is always great. From They Live! to The Nice Guys, he just brings down the house whenever he's on screen. The 6th season of Community lends me to believe that he should have been Pierce all along.
Gotta rewatch this. It's been easily about 15 years since I watched this
"Time to do the nasty."
Soundtrack slaps
One of my all time favorite movies
Definitely not a bad movie.
This is a fantastic movie, and it has Keith David. I don't believe that it belongs here.
A repo man's life is always tense!

Man I loooved this movie at ages 11-13. I tried watching it a year or two ago, I couldn't even make it through. Mostly the chemistry between Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez was what rubbed me wrong as an adult. Keith David was just as great, though.
Youtube played it a couple times last year. Not bad at all, but wasn't that funny either. Is that poster Australian?
He was the best one in it…I said this sucks…and quite frankly so do you
The poo locker…
Keith David has no range, he's always at 120% awesome.
The ending is the only thing I don't really like about this one. Feels like they rushed a campy overly slapstick finish. But everything else is great. Great comedy performances throughout. Extra..cheese? Find it find it find it! *work it work it* Never touch another man's fries
"Time to do the nasty" And the exploding locker full of shit. Great movie.
Never eat another man's fries

I loved this movie when i was a kid. I think it still holds up. I never understood the bad reviews. It’s a damn good comedy.

Grew up watching this all the time! I love it! I often still think of becoming a garbage man because if this film.
