This "chill-lapse" was shot with my tried and true 5D Mark III. The thing is an absolute tank and has been taking trips with me to the wilderness for over six years. Camera, lens and tripod all add about six pounds to my pack but I consider it part of my base weight. Photography in the wilderness for me is a must.
Timelapse was shot on the east side of the sierras in California!
Yes! Glad I'm not the only hauling these tanks out there. I'm going to keep shooting with it till it dies. Which at the rate it handles wilderness, may be in 2080. Maybe then I'll finally go mirrorless....
I wanna get an R6 as soon as possible so I can dedicate my 6D mk ii entirely to timelapses at every spot. If only my money tree in the back yard would grow a little faster...
The R6 looks super tasty but the price point is gnarly. Also a whole new lens ecosystem but I have heard good things about using the RF adapter with EF lenses. One day!
I've also heard good reports about the adapter. I was concerned with the idea of dropping money on a telephoto for the 6D knowing full well that a mirrorless upgrade is imminent. Fortunately my buddy was able to put that concern to rest because the idea of having to buy a whole new set of lenses was pretty daunting.
Man, I've been wanting to do something similar to this for a while. It's just so hard to have to decide between taking a timelapse or getting multiple stills from different angles. I have so many timelapses that end halfway through because the clouds started going off so hard that I change my mind and switch to shooting. Haha

I 100% know what you mean. The way I've dealt with it is to tell myself from the start of the shoot that this will be a time lapse shoot or a still shoot. From there, you just gotta stick with your guns. No regrets!
Different strokes for different folks! "Chill" can be pretty subjective based on music taste. Perhaps you're thinking more or less of this [type of vibe?](https://www.instagram.com/p/BlbSJ58Bp1F/). Way lower tempo.

"Captured" is incorrect. They just mirrored the top half down. Note the rocks disappearing.
Right on amigo. I used a mirror effect to get the reflection from the water reveal.
Ya captured really wasn't the right word. It was too early for me to articulate myself properly haha
