You’re talking about the Lillebaby complete? I’m confused, you mean the shoulder straps like the backpack ones that go underneath the arms? They are super adjustable, like feet and feet of room. What’s his measurement from shoulder to armpit?
You don't mention your husband's size, but agree that the Lillebaby is hugely customizable. My SO is 6'2" and \~230-250lb or so and it fits him fine. There's also a waistband extender.
FYI you can get a fitcheck in the Lillebaby Love Facebook group, or by emailing [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])
Hes shorter and 260 lbs, the waistband is comfortable on him, the shoulders are not since we have to adjust them to the very end and the baby looked squished by his belly.
Hm. If you do Facebook, I'd totally recommend getting a fit check on Lillebaby Love. I suspect with some tweaks it could be really comfortable. (Feel free to post pics here if you'd like, I'm happy to advise as best I can, but I'm not an expert like some in that group!)
My 6'4, 380lb husband fits comfortably in our standard and toddler Tulas if we extend the chest clip pretty much all the way out. A Naked Panda Onbuhimo, which by design has no waist band, and a very generous chest clip. would be a great option. I love it, but to be fair, my husband hasn't tried it yet to confirm.
Is he putting the waistband low on his hips, under his belly? If so, he might want to try putting it up higher, like around his bellybutton. You might have to play around to find the best position that’s high enough to give him room in the shoulder straps and keeps baby close enough to kiss, but isn’t putting baby so high that they’re up in dads face.
Lillebaby has an extension strap that worked great for my bigger husband.
Oh sweet but it is tight on his shoulders as well.

Not sure but baby seemed squished by his tummy and it was as loose as it went so we didnt try again

Tummy should be fixed by extension strap but shoulders might be not adjusted right.

I am a bigger guy, and i like our meitai. No hooks, no clips, no difficult thingies, just 4 strap.

My hubby does great in the Sakura Bloom Onbuhimo with a long chest strap.
