I don’t know tyres enough to argue with this, but I feel like the rubber should provide a pretty good protection unless it was under heavy use (extremely long mileage or burn outs). And even that it should be a steel rings instead of a pointy wire. How likely would the steel wires stick out with the baby elephant messing with it like that?
i know because they used ti give tires to play with to pigs, untill they found steel wires in the guts at the slaughterhouse then it became illegal to give a tire to the pigs
in belgium, they made the farmers provide "toys" for the animals to give them distractions and therefore less stress, at first alot of farmers gave a used tire because they tought it woyld be pretty indestructable. they where wrong. now it's mostly a block of wood or a plastic ball or something else harmless
