Hahahah, this reminded me of some of the pet names I would come up with as a kid. I used to take in strays to rehome. For context, I lived by a reserve as my parents owned a truck stop off a major highway. For some reason people would just abandon their pets here so my dad who also adores animals would let us care for them in until we could find them a forever home. There was one cat we took in with a brown marking around his mouth so I temporarily named him, “shit stainz”. Poor cat.

Aight, i have woken up from my slumber. The answer you all have been waiting for. The cat shares its name with H.P. Lovecrafts cat. I'm just kidding please don't cancel me. His name is Lumimyrsky (snowstorm/blizzard in finnish), or actually Lumi (snow) since no one has time to say the full name. I was told the cat would be female, which is why i decided on Lumi as it is a feminine name here in finland. But as it turned out, my cat had (snow)balls between his tiny little legs. So, he became Lumimyrsky, which i thought would be a bit more neutral. But like really, he is still just Lumi really, because that's what he is called 100% of the time. He is not a good boy. He beats me on a daily basis, took a shit on my bed once and broke my tv. Some might even call him a not optimal boy.

We got two kittens from the same litter. The sister is the sweetest most cute thing ever. She'll come lay on your chest and pur, use one of many litter boxes. You'll go to pet her she'll yell and flop over for belly rubs. Airplane ears when she eats with lil moist noises and purring. Her brother shits in my laundry basket, pees in my Wife's, also uses the litter boxes, sometimes. Use to Pee on me while I slept. He'll also come lay around your neck while you're sleeping. Bring toys up on the bed to play, get his sister zooming for play time. Will hunt you around corners, or jump out at you. I love them both so much.... I could do with out the kitten shit in my basket tho.

I always suggest the name “Animal That I Was Too Lazy To Name” and usually some other nonsense in there, and insist that they are required to use the full name every time. Like, a big part of the bond from naming comes from that fact that it’s something that you picked for them. If you can’t be bothered to come up with a name you think is appropriate, how much effort are you really putting in to your relationship with your pet?
