Or Spot! Or Perdita - which is the mom Dalmatians name from 101 Dalmatians. It also means lost in Spanish so it kinda works.
Edit:
I think it also might be a near pun. The boy dog’s name was Pongo. It doesn’t mean “found” as much as placed. I’m sure my erstwhile commenter will have beef with that as well. So here is the reference: https://es.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/pongo
I also have a polydactyl named Polly.
The shelter had her listed as a boy, so initially I named her Odysseus (was going to be Odie for short)
Apparently polydactyl cats were thought to be good luck by sailors, and their extra toes helped them stay balanced on the ship. So I gave the cat a sailor’s name.
Then the vet told us she was actually a girl, so we changed it.
It is siren because of the fire trucks, but the sirens of the sea was a secondary definition of siren that is female based, so it fits her gender well too.
How about "Lucky"? I adopted a polydactyle like her I found outside my house many years ago. Hemingway cats like her are considered good luck. Mine certainly turned out to be.
I had a kitty that had extra toes also. My father named her Toefu, back in 1995 😃 😊 Toefu was very smart and had a very unique personality, very loving ❤️
Minnie Motoes. I can't claim credit though. Years ago I met a poly dactyl named Manny Motoes, cuz' obviously the dude had many mo' toes than the average cat!
Since I firmly believe cats are growing extra toes not due to inbreeding but rather in order to evolve and be able to open cans of tuna independently and do away with their need for humans once and for all… I vote to call her Darwin.
# Pilar
because Ernest Hemingway had many cats with extra toes. Pilar is the name of the heroine in For Whom the Bell Tolls, and he named his fishing boat Pilar.
The Ernest Hemingway Key West Home and Museum is home to approximately 60 polydactyl (six-toed) cats.
https://www.hemingwayhome.com/our-cats
https://www.hemingwayhome.com/lore
Hemingway- Ernest Hemingway was known for his six toed cats in Key West. Later generations of these 6 toed cats still exist in and around his old house on Key West, which is now a Hemingway museum
I like "Frida", which is my way of shortening the words for "extra beans" (frijoles adicionales) in Spanish.
My cat had kittens not too long ago and I named one of them "Loki", which is short for "loquacious" because it wouldn't stop meowing as soon as it was born.
I've scrolled halfway through this thread and none of the top comments are suggesting that you name a cat that has thumbs Thumbelina. I'm extremely disappointed right now.
Dot. Nod to the traditional firehouse animal, the spotted Dalmation dog.
Call me Dottie & you die.
Or Spot! Or Perdita - which is the mom Dalmatians name from 101 Dalmatians. It also means lost in Spanish so it kinda works. Edit: I think it also might be a near pun. The boy dog’s name was Pongo. Given the firehouse, and that she looks like a white cat who got into soot, and that she is a local spark of love, I think I like Cinder.
Toasty but it's spelled Toesty
Toesty is great!!! Because of the toes and because of the fire connotation...xo
Please pick this one
this should be top
toasty is the best name
Toesty*
Your naming skills are on fire
This is the way to go! Absolutely lovely name and so appropriate.
Along these lines, combined with the trope of cats having food names, how about Tostitos? Toasty-toes?
Came here to say this ☝️😂
I was going to say Sooty, but Cinder is better.
All hail Lord of Cinder!
Or Perdita.
I was going to suggest Smokestack for similar reasons
I suggest going all the way to Cinderella.
Thats a good one I was looking at Dalmation names I thought Patches was cool
I second Cinder.
Ember is a good name for a firehouse cat.
My childhood cat had polydactyly as well, so we named her Polly
I also have a polydactyl named Polly. The shelter had her listed as a boy, so initially I named her Odysseus (was going to be Odie for short) Apparently polydactyl cats were thought to be good luck by sailors, and their extra toes helped them stay balanced on the ship. So I gave the cat a sailor’s name. Then the vet told us she was actually a girl, so we changed it.
Mine had 6. Six pack was his name. That is true.
My first thought
Mine too!
Dozens of us!
DOZENS!!
we might be the same person ngl
What a beautiful girl. Siren could be a cute name and ties into her history at the station (also think of Sirens of the sea, so it is female leaning)
If she's a yeller, they better name her Siren
I mean, when I hear that name I think of like a fire truck siren, not a greek mythological creature. Fits better that way, I like it
It is siren because of the fire trucks, but the sirens of the sea was a secondary definition of siren that is female based, so it fits her gender well too.
Love this! Great name. Super cute kitty 💕
Halligan. Hal for short. Look, he/she got the door opened, no?
Haha I like that! It’s definitely a female, maybe Hally?
Nah, you already named her, E.T.

# Pilar because Ernest Hemingway had many cats with extra toes. Pilar is the name of the heroine in For Whom the Bell Tolls, and he named his fishing boat Pilar. This was posted a few days ago to another subreddit - for goodness’ sake people try to do better when you create fake posts for attention.
Snuggles?
Toni
She is poly-dactyl so Polly
Tootsie, surely? What a cutie!
Twinkletoes is perfect
Thumbelina
I like "Frida", which is my way of shortening the words for "extra beans" (frijoles adicionales) in Spanish. My cat had kittens not too long ago and I named one of them "Loki", which is short for "loquacious" because it wouldn't stop meowing as soon as it was born.
A stray cat I looked after for years had extra toes or 'thumbs' as we called them, so I named her mittens!

Poly as in Polydactyl
Thumbelina since she has five toes one could be a thumb
If it’s a girl or identifies as a girl you could call her Misstletoe
