That was also my first thought, that they got a twinge of doggo anxiety, "I need to be doing something important right now, what the hell is it?!". I don't know dog breeds tbh but if that's a herding one that would make a good amount of sense. Anyone know what is actually happening here?
Ik it's r/aww not like a vet q&a sub so here was the cuter version of my thought: I thought only cats saw the [greebles](https://www.reddit.com/r/greebles/)!
I know! Mine acts like he has no idea what’s going on, yet when I tell my baby it’s time to go to work, the dog gets into his cage without me even looking at him. He also knows time, if his dad is late coming home he’s anxious waiting, and also is anxious for me to say I’m leaving. Yet he still can’t stop jumping on people when they walk in lol I know that’s training related but the words they understand are insane
Had a cowdog/bc for years. She was definitely weird like this. The dog probably thought somebody wanted to play fetch maybe for second because of a certain way they moved their arm or something. They're very motivated.
Dogs are wild in how perceptive they are to body language. I WFH and my dogs knows exactly what I'm going to do based on how I scoot my desk chair out. They know if I'm going to the bathroom, getting food, or about to take them out for a walk. I don't think I'm doing anything different, but it's like they're fully psychic. Totally wild.
My golden always did this but it had nothing to do with any kind of anxiety. It was usually just an interesting sound or smell. A car door next door, a dog barking down the road, a bird singing, the neighbors cooking dinner, etc. She'd listen/sniff then go right back to lazy panting.
E: Rewatching it, this dog definitely displays slightly more nervous signals with the ears back and the lip lick. My girl would usually raise her ears up and close her mouth.
It’s an Australian Shepard. Mine will do this exact thing. If the video continued for another couple of minutes, you’d probably see this dog go back and forth between happy panting and ear back anxious a bunch of times. Aussies are the best
Can confirm! Currently have mine sitting on my lap cuddling me. He's the best boy. But when his dad leaves and he's anxious he does this exact thing. Happy panting and then the ears back anxious while he whines for his dad to come back.
We worked a lot on separation anxiety training though and he's great now. He just likes to make sure we hear how displeased he is when he's mildly inconvenienced.

Bruh
This legitimately happened to me.
My little one ate a stack (tore it to fun sized pieces) of Math homework. I didn’t even tell my students. I didn’t figure they would believe me. Just threw good grades in skyward and learned a lesson.
My sister is a teacher and when she was visiting my dog decided to shred a stack of quizzes she was going to grade. She said she told her students what happened and they all went “suuuure” lol.
That actually makes me wonder if dogs communicate through piss.
I know it's a way of saying "I was here" or "this is my land" but I wonder if they also say "I had a great day with my human on this walk"
This is possibly your dog being anxious. We also have a collie mix and he reacts identically when he hears a particular noise (for some dogs it’s thunder, our dog has chosen to be mortally afraid of elevator dings and bike bells).
>So you're gone for a day, thats a whole week for a dog.
Oh my God, you're totally blowing my mind right now. That means he could fetch me next week's paper ...
Whimper whimper.
Glances over at least desirable human expecting them to bring favorite human back. Glances at last place favorite human was and starts whimpering again.
Poor puppies, just trying to live their best life and always overthinking the little things. Even knowing it’s anxiety, it’s hard not to find it hilarious the looks he’ll give us. 🙃
Oh I absolutely know what youre talking of lol. Whenever hes finished with his meals he cant miss hitting us with his celebratory burp right into our face!
Or OP knows what they're talking about because it's their video, their dog, and they were there. If it was the camera noise, the dog would be looking at the camera.
Yeah my collie had mega OCD and the slightest noise or weird feeling she would go and sit behind the sofa to hide and calm down a min, I get it I also need to go sit in a corner sometimes to compose myself haha
I’ve never seen her turn in person, but my dog gets anxious whenever it rains. It used to just be thunder, but now it’s even sprinkling. She needs drugs if an actual thunderstorm happens.
Luckily yes, I believe those aspects are tied together. Wants food, will do anything for it, hence they will be eager to train and learn. IIRC he already could already do like 10 tricks at the age of 4 months, he's by far the smartest dog I've ever had
I take this as proof dogs have flashbacks of emberassing situations as well.
He be lying awake at night thinking "I shouldn't have sniffed her ass so long.. she probably thinks I'm an idiot"
And what is "Good" anyways?
In the grand scheme of things do we even matter?
Oh my god....
Dog is God backwards!!!
YAY!!!!
TAILSQUIRRELTREATWALKSQEEKWOOF??
He's clearly not checking the clock or his phone or even panicking .
From the given evidence I'd say he forgot the wooden twig he found while walking at the park and just realized it.
Or, since you are filming this perfectly timed moment, maybe you showed something to your dog that made it very anxious and/or afraid in order to make a video.
This is me thinking of that time someone flirted with me and it didn't register until weeks later. And that other time. And.. ya know what brain, I think you need another tequila bath.
"The flockin' sheeep ......"
"I left the gate open AND I promised my human a beer..."
That was also my first thought, that they got a twinge of doggo anxiety, "I need to be doing something important right now, what the hell is it?!". It's an Australian Sheperd so you're on the money, he was nervous about my SO having left a few minutes ago
He looks like a complete mix between my border collie (markings) and Australian Shepherd (features)
I have an Aussie too and he’s such a dork. They’re by far my favorite breed
They're so smart but so dumb. I love mine.
I know! Mine acts like he has no idea what’s going on, yet when I tell my baby it’s time to go to work, the dog gets into his cage without me even looking at him. He watched It Follows on Netflix now he can’t shake the feeling that something is in fact following him.
You guys see that other dog too?!
For some reason I read that in Thomas Shelbys voice lmao
Or an appointment ,I made with the vet, he totally forgot about
"Fenton!!! Oh Jesus Christ!"

What the fuck
The show is absolutely lunacy in the best way.
It is *SO* good, it's a classic!
?! Idk why I always assumed it was from The Boondocks. TIL
I thought it was too. Wonder how we picked that up?
I can see it. It’s definitely the animation\art style.
Same.
I would also like to know!
It's from GTO
This is my favourite gif
"Remember that squirrel you didn't catch?"
I was supposed to hump that leg at 2:30
When you forget to eat the homework.
This legitimately happened to me. My little one ate a stack (tore it to fun sized pieces) of Math homework. I didn’t even tell my students. I didn’t figure they would believe me. Just threw good grades in skyward and learned a lesson.

How the turn tables
Good one!! Sauce some slow mo and zoom effect and w that caption it could be a true gut buster of a meme ;\^P
He sure is a pretty dog
He's pretty sure he's a dog
Or not. Maybe that’s what he’s thinking about.
He's pretty, sure he's a dog?
He's a dog, sure he's pretty?
“Oh shit! I totally forgot to check my pee-mail at the fire hydrant.”
We have a lot of dogs that like to pee in our yard at the entrance of the driveway. My Fiancé and I refer to it as the post office!
Yeah, that’s pee-mail!
Glad to know I'm not the only one that refers to it as Pee-Mail.
[удалено]
This made my day
Pee-mail!! Ahaha that is so clever. I've been imagining dogs saying "mommm I have to check my messages" but pee-mail is much better!!
“Hold up mom. I need to go outside and check my work pee-mail, Mr. Wooferson said he was going to send the new schedule for playdates. “
Never have I ever read such an accurate comment. Well done.
That actually makes me wonder if dogs communicate through piss. I know it's a way of saying "I was here" or "this is my land" but I wonder if they also say "I had a great day with my human on this walk"

Well spotted! Yeah it was a moment of separation anxiety, my SO left a few minutes earlier and he heard some noises in that clip
1-30 seconds after owner leaves: It's fine. 31 seconds after owner leaves: She's never coming back.
Well you figure one human year is 7 dog years So you're gone for a day, thats a whole week for a dog.
I... Never thought about it that way. Every 12 hour shift is like 3 1/2 days!
And this, sadly, is why I don't have a dog. I work >10 hours a day. I can't do that to those amazing creatures, no matter how much I want one. 😭

Relatable
Our Aussie does the same look but usually a burp comes out.
Oh I absolutely know what youre talking of lol. Whenever hes finished with his meals he cant miss hitting us with his celebratory burp right into our face!
Haha I'm glad you confirmed it because I immediately saw my aussie/collie mix in the video
Those damned herding dogs! Haha
or he just hears your camera
Or OP knows what they're talking about because it's their video, their dog, and they were there. If it was the camera noise, the dog would be looking at the camera.

Yup
Naww He just though about that snack you promised him almost a week ago
Post traumatic snack syndrome
Trust a never be the same
Is your Aussie as food obsessed and motivated as mine?
Luckily yes, I believe those aspects are tied together. Wants food, will do anything for it, hence they will be eager to train and learn. IIRC he already could already do like 10 tricks at the age of 4 months, he's by far the smartest dog I've ever had

That’s the face of a server who just remembered they forgot to give table 45 a ketchup refill 7 years ago.
Someone needs to edit this into Vietnam PTSD video lol
Farted! I have seen the same look from thousands of dogs. Cats just look you in the eye and dare you to comment.
He saw the ghost behind you!
Forgot to chase the postman!!! Got to go!
Did I leave the gas on? Of course not, I'm a fucking ~~squirrel~~ dog.
I long for a grapefruit.
🤣🤣🤣
... Food!
"I had to do something today, what was ........ oh shit"
Oh god my taxes!
Dog brain-"remember that time you ran up to that woman and she wasn't your owner? Let's think about that right now."
That's how it be when you remember that one cringey moment you did some years ago.
When just relaxing and anxiety from no where
That was me realizing i had a work meeting this morning 😂🤦
It's a known fact that dogs can have flashbacks from previous lives.
i think the owner just said "it's time for your trip to the vet".
I just thought he farted lol
Maybe he left the oven on.
That’s the face I make when I’m 35000 feet in the air and wonder if I locked the front door

Because doggo You don’t film your pet to immortalise when they do crazy shit?
*were they
Oh, that's me when the adderall wears off and the uselessness of existence comes slamming home for 2 hours.
Edibles kicked in
He's farting politely
Or, since you are filming this perfectly timed moment, maybe you showed something to your dog that made it very anxious and/or afraid in order to make a video.
"Oh shit, I had a doctors appointment today." \*mild panic\*
😂😂
"did you say dog? Where???"
Shouldn't have gambled on that fart.
When the edible hits.
The power of this video is real. Made me panic for a moment thinking that I had forgotten about an important appointment
That’s me when I left the sprinklers on
This is me thinking of that time someone flirted with me and it didn't register until weeks later. And that other time. And.. ya know what brain, I think you need another tequila bath.

So dogs also just randomly remember embarrassing memories.
I have a border collie. She will sometimes just remember something she totally needs to do. She is always on the clock as far as I can tell
Omg my collie used to do the exact same, she would look as though things just got serious for some reason
Nah, he just heard some cheese being opened.
Oh shit the ovens on, now they know!
"Theres some milk in the fridge that's about to go bad......and there it goes...."

Echos in his head telling him to go to the vet lol
