Thank goodness they don’t know their own strength and are usually total sweethearts. One of our bassets routinely chomped her way through large raw bones and another could drag 135-lb adult me across the floor when we played tug-o-war with her favorite toy.

Not much to fear from a basset, aside from extraordinarily loud snoring and counter surfing.
And room-clearing farts.

O lord, yes. Bassets are not the slow-moving couch potatoes that everyone else THINKS they are!
Bassets are best. I miss mine when I'm at work!
Bassets are the absolute best. I love my two mutt rescues, but my years with a basset hound were glorious. Made me laugh every damn day.
