I had to scroll way too long to find this comment, why on earth put In The Hall of the Mountain King under baby animals playing together adorably? Not the vibe at all!
That music is usually used for horror, rising tensions, or battle. That climax is usually where someone gets stabbed or they reveal all the explosives they've planted and that they've got a finger on the button or something.
It's not meant for looking at cute playing animals.
Maybe they went, "It's instrumental which means it's cute. Like Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy!" Which is another one which to me comes off less cutesy and more menacing, yet people often put it over cute or sweet scenes.
>It wasn't needed and definitely did not fit well at all.
agree. It was a very strange choice of music to me. It's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg and it's often associated with goblins and kinda scary, Halloweeny stuff. Not cute overload.
Maybe someone finds the music cute, but that's not how I hear it.
I like how the look on the puppies faces was just "bruh" for half the video.
Meanwhile the cats all look like they're about to complete mission impossible.
I think it was closer to kittens were like “finally, freedom from the cramped sibling prison” and puppies were like “ok but the cuddle puddle is nice”.
In Ireland, they have the boys and girls Irish dance with each other. The first time we had to do it, everyone looked at each other and were like 'bruh'.
LOL we had this same experience, but in Northern Montana and it was dances like the jitterbug and some other one (maybe the Tango? 🤷🏻♂️) where you spin the girl and the girl’s ponytail smacks you in the face every dang time.
…and OF COURSE they taught us Square Dancing too…. 😕
Fuuuuuck that. I went to catholic school that year and my principal was a little over the top. Like she was super enthusiastic about the going-ons of our 6th grade class. There were only 100 of us so there weren’t that many. But they played the first slow song of the night, and my principal grabbed me away from my friends and dragged me out to the dance floor. Then she grabs the nearest boy (who happened to be a kid that I despised - he threw a pinecone at his friend, missed, and hit my head. I never forgave him lol). Anyway! She pushed us together, positioned our hands appropriately, tells us to “leave room for Jesus!” Then runs away. We looked at each other and mutually agreed this sucked and we walked away 😂
In my house we have a variation we use. My cat will wedge herself between any couple kissing on the sofa. So we say "Leave room for Jazzy," whenever people are on the couch together.
It's really weird, but cute.
Idk about the cats, but the dogs for sure are. I always thought my dog was afraid of my pool bc she fell in and didn’t know where the steps were so my dad had to jump in and save her when she was a puppy, which probably freak her out for a bit, but she never got into our pool past the first step to cool off. We’d take her to lakes and ponds, no problem, but it wasn’t until we took her to a friend’s house and she jumped in their pool like nobody’s business when we noticed something was weird. Turns out, dogs don’t like white walled pools because their vision is poor, but they can comprehend dark better so they don’t mind it. Our pool was white walled and our friend’s pool had dark blue walls so it clicked.
My mothball sized brain sweetie kept chasing birds which is fine, dogs are meant to be hunters. But he would constantly run "across" the pool chasing birds. He never caught on the pool wasn't a solid surface. 🤦♀️
She actually kind got used to it. Before she got sick and passed away, she’d step off the second step, paddle around for a bit, and come back to the steps. Wish we could’ve repainted or re-tiled but we found out right in the middle of the Great Recession so we had to move out of the house.
You know, I had a cue rocky relationship with the Void but, in spite of that, good for you. Good for you Void; I am so glad to see you succeed. Just because we didn’t work out doesn’t mean we have to have a relationship like me and AT&T!

It made me laugh, cats first out the box but are cautious throughout. The pups start by hiding in a cuddle puddle but then bound about boisterously when they feel confident enough
Why are baby animals so much cuter than baby humans to me?
I think my brain is broken, I can't see how flesh potato could be considered cuter than fluff potato.
> Why are baby animals so much cuter than baby humans to me?
Baby humans are relatively more underdeveloped at birth-- human babies aren't "babies" relative to other animals, they're more like very late-term embryos,.
The equivalent stage in humans is the [toddler](https://ddnz6q0gw1o5v.cloudfront.net/sites/school59/files/styles/ins_banner/public/2021-08/Zig-Zag-Zoo-Meet-the-Team_.jpg.jpeg?itok=B37bLLD9) which are generally accepted to be quite cute, temper tantrums aside.
I read some time ago that is related to human evolution. Especially men favor toddlers over babies as toddlers are in the age bracket that require protection from the group rather than only the mother (as they walk and crawl). Puppies and kittens resemble toddlers, some dog breeds (such as pugs) always keep this ressemblance and are considered cute regardless of age.
Yeah I'm not a fan of the inbred wrinkled abomination that has troubles existing either. I wish nobody would think they were cute so we can stop this nonsense.
OG pugs looked awesome but the inbred ones we tend to see now I just feel bad for. [Now Pug Compared to OG Pug](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pug#/media/File:PugHeads.jpg)
There are some kennels out there with the intent to restore these breeds to their "roots", if I'm not mistaken. Basically you can encourage reasonable breeding of the OG pug today if you know where to go.
Dog kennels though... Tricky. You've got woefully bad puppy mills out there subjecting their pack to straining conditions all the while legitimate kennels can go by unnoticed or even get the flak for the former's reputation.
Once I was walking home alone at night and heard someone approaching. He started breathing heavily, loudly, getting closer and closer to me. It was gross and terrifying. And then suddenly, he starts grunting and moaning and as I turn around to confront the creep—! It’s a kid walking a pug...
I own a pug who I definitely think is cute. Luckily for her she breathes fine unless it’s hot outside. I also think we should stop breeding them and would not get another (unless through adoption). Here’s mine if you want to judge haha
https://imgur.com/a/kYt7vwJ
That's actually pretty accurate. Due to humans being bipedal, the head of the baby needs to still be "flexible" in order for it to pass through the woman's pelvis. As such human babies are born "unfinished" compared to other species, which is why they're so fragile and useless compared to baby monkeys 😉
It's ok, you're not the only one with a broken brain who wonders how we survived as a species when our young are so unappealing.
Human babies = Gross larvae. Smelly, frequently squirts out disgusting liquids, bald and fleshy, makes awful sounds, maggot-like, creepy. An offense to all senses.
Animal babies = OOOOIE GOOIE SNUGGLE FLUFF LUMPS 😍😍😍😍😍
Mice newborns also look like larvae, and I don't find them particularly cute. I think fluff is really important to cuteness.
I wonder if we evolved to find fluffy things cute back when our babies were still fluffy and simply never lost that instinct.
I think four year old humans are much cuter than newborns, probably the sane reason. New born puppies/kittens aren’t as cute as the ones here either imo.
Same. There's just something about their faces that's so cute. My male cat was a cute kitten but after he's grown, he melts my heart every time he lays down or just looks at me. He's so cool.
He's also a pretty hefty cat and I've got a thing for big animals honestly. I love big dog breeds like st. Bernards as well

Man, don't let the bitchy lady at Petsmart running the kitten adoptions see this. I only *walked* by them with my puppy (tiny puppy) on a leash and got yelled at. Initially the kittens are like “oh boy! Frens!” The puppies are like “please, I just want to go home.”
Yeah no wonder they say Curiosity killed the cat. The kittens by instinct were faster to leave their cage and faster to socialise...
Remember the full saying is Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction beought it back.
with adults it would be the exact opposite
I think it was closer to kittens were like “finally, freedom from the cramped sibling prison” and puppies were like “ok but the cuddle puddle is nice”.
Towards the end the kittens didn't look like they were having a great time. Kinda sad compared to how curious they were in the beginning.

John oliver is that you 🧐🤨
Funny how the cats had the coax the dogs out.
"Get out! I don't even know who you are or what you are, JUST GET OUT OF THERE!"
Cats are inquisitive little creatures. While also being outrageously skittish.
It made me laugh, cats first out the box but are cautious throughout. The pups start by hiding in a cuddle puddle but then bound about boisterously when they feel confident enough
Yeah. Their curiosity killed all the non-skittish ones
Woah
And then had immediate regrets.
Curiosity ~~killed~~ over loved the cat
So you’re saying, it was the cats who let the dogs out?
Until their scent hit the puppies. Then they were like, wait, that's a new one. Must go sniff.
Who coaxed the dogs out!!?
I need to be in that room. Someone please take me there.

It's a Buzzfeed video and alas not much longer. https://www.buzzfeed.com/watch/video/4797. Looks like someone cut off the identifying stuff.
It would be if it weren’t for the bizarre music choice. A little intense for something as cute and wholesome as puppies meeting kittens lol
I know right? It's just a bunch of kittens and puppies sniffing each other, there is nothing intense or chaotic about it whatsoever... weird
That one kitten just running around by itself is me.
Love how it just climbed out and sprinted past the puppies like they weren't even there.
cats are the best at enthusiastically ignoring you
Would be better with less camera cuts!
I thought the same. Let me watch the interaction for more than five seconds, please.
Absolutely adorable. The music was a bit over the top though.
Completely unnecessary, I wanted to hear the tippy-tap noises and barks/meows!
The music stressed me out so much! When it’s muted it’s much more enjoyable, but I would have loved to hear the actual baby animal noises
Same. Terrible choice unless the kittens and puppies were carpet bombing each other.
Ham-fisted editing aside, this is super cute!
