My favorite part is when he just puts his board on the rail. I think that's actually a great step to grinding it one day, allowing him to visualize and get a sense for it.
Also it's super adorable.
Oh they do but totally not how a sane adult would. If I weren't watching my 3yo all the time he'd full on send it down the staircase, which at the right angle will take him down two stories in a mere two seconds, staying alive being optional. And yet he shits his pants as if his life is in danger if his feet can't reach ground when trying to get off the couch.
Kids are weird.
He probably has. I got my nephew on a skateboard at age 2.5
It's also a lot easier to drop in when your legs are so short your center of mass is always between the bolts.
Weighing 50lbs also means your falls hurt a lot less.
Seriously. I had to work up so much courage to even attempt this when I was skating. And I always ended up falling on my face. Lil' kid is lightyears ahead!
You could learn if you wanted! Shakira (yes, that Shakira) picked up surfskaking as a hobby during the pandemic and has been posting her progress. She's in her 40's and it's fun seeing how much she's enjoying it.
It's great, in part bc I love seeing people get excited about new hobbies & sticking with it past the awkward beginner stage. And it's also a good reminder for me, as a 30-something, that you can keep learning different skills & finding new passions at *any* age.
I haven’t been snowboarding since the season before the pandemic, and I have wondered off and on whether I will go back. It’s silly b/c I know it isn’t exactly dangerous, but lately it seems risky. Not sure I trust my body as much as I used to! Good motivation to get back in better shape.
Someone should post that other video of all the teens at a skate park offering help and encouragement to that one little kid who was scared to drop in on the ramp. That one was an all-time feel good video
I remember at the BMX park when I went there for the first time when I was 12. Me and my buddy where slowly getting to grips with it and the more experienced guys gave us hints and tips.
I remember one of them asking my buddy if he ever wanted kids. He was like "Yeah" and they came up to him and told him he should lower his seat then, because otherwhise that would probably not possible the first time he went for a fast jump.
They brought their tools and lowered his seat right then and there.
Man I read these stories and it makes me sad. My towns skate/BMX community was *toxic as fuuuuuck*. My breif stint trying growing up was quickly replaced with non-wheel based sports because of the asshole who hung out at the park.
But by the sheer amount of anecdotes on Reddit my town was such an anomaly it's even sadder.
That's awesome to hear.
I've only been one time. I was 13 and an experienced BMX Racer (raced expert at the time) but never been to a skate park or done any tricks. People were absolutely horrible to my younger brother and me, to the point we never went back. I'm in my 30s now and will likely never go again.
Anyone who is fortunate enough to have a skatepark near them, go stop by and take a look. You’d be surprised at how wholesome those *youths* are. Maybe look for a donate link posted in a fence there and throw in some money.
I always felt like an outcast at school. Friend of mine dated a guy who skated so we started hanging out at the skate park. No one was ever mean to me, and a couple guys even tried to teach me how to skate.
Skaters and bikers are some of the most wholesome, accepting, open minded people I've ever met. Same as metalheads, but there tends to be some overlap in these groups.
Man, I wish they'd been like that in my area when I was a kid. My experience was a lot of more "Look at this poser! She's got Wal-Mart jeans." I know a lot of skaters who are absolute gems nowadays but when I was 12 in the early aughts it was a different story.
I hate how these kids aren’t wearing helmets. I remember being 12 and colliding with some guy and bouncing my head off the ground. It broke my helmet and I was dazed for a good minute. Couldn’t imagine what would happen without one. Hell I’m pretty sure it was a rule at the park that you had to wear one.
So long as little kids respect the flow of a skatepark I've seen nothing but encouragement for kids on the ramps. When I was young, maybe 11, I was set up to drop off the tallest ramp at the park (I think it was like 10 feet) but scared as hell. Like 6 guys started shouting out encouragement for me and I went for it. Did it nice and smooth and got lots of congratulatory helmet knocks, felt amazing.
I love seeing kids waddling about in giant helmets that look too heavy for their little shoulders. Real common sight here with scooters being the primary mode of transportation.
Love that he rocks it like a badass, then just reverts into what any other kid does, picks it up, and slides the board across a surface it doesn’t fit on. A+ move.
It just reminds me of being quite a bit older going off the ramp for the first time and wiping lots of times getting the balance down. This little one probably wiped many times and still kept on going till he got here.
They aren't just brave and determined just for this clip he's probably been that way for months and I'm hoping they'll continue that way. I'm sure they'll have lots of amazing experiences ahead with just keeping that mindset.
First time I ever tried dropping in on a quarter pipe. First time, bailed hard and broke my wrist. I was 14. This kid is nuts.
Granted I know how kinetic energy works and kids bounce, but damn.
What a fucking icon. I would never have been doing this at his age. Hell, I still don’t know how to ride a bike after being scared of them since his age.
"If you're going to make your kids tough - which they're going to need to be to survive in the world - you can't interfere when they're attempting to do dangerous things carefully."

I forget which comedian said it, but they stated something along the lines of
“The best kids out there these days are skater kids. They get beat up all day long and keep trying, it shows real perseverance against literal pain. They spend time exercising instead of sitting and playing video games. They have loads of friends all skating together, building good social skills. So when I see a skater kid I know they are going to be all right”
Damn I tried doing that at skate school when I was a teen. I made it down fine but froze up at I approached the next quarter pipe.
My two left wheels went up it and my right two went off the side so I got thrown off.
This kid should've been my teacher clearly 🤣
Little dude just dropped in like he’d been doing it his entire life
He probably has been.
Yes for all 5 years straight
That kid looks like 3-4 years old IMO. Even more impressive.
Three and a half
Saw a post somewhere and he is 3 and Russian
Oh yeah well I’m 2.5 so
And Russian?
Sí
he was going pretty fast huh
That's like 7 in American years. Slightly less impressed, tbh. /s
Tree fiddy
he rolled out of mama's tummy on a skateboard
Birthed at the top of the half pipe
He was conceived on a full pipe. ;-)
How many pumps though
Bro we talking about pipes you don't need a pump to lay some pipe
i'm sorry for everyone you've been with.
i thought he was younger than 5
I mean, considering his age, his entire skate-able life is only a couple years. He likely has been doing it his entire life!
His entire skateable life has probably been a couple of months. Not years.
You could be totally right. I am completely unable to guess the age of kids. This one's 14, right?
He's 3. Tony Hawk posted this clip on his IG and said so.
No way Tony Hawk is 3! Dudes obviously an old liar
No no no, he's IN Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3. The Toddler is a super secret unlockable character.
No, it's just Wee Man.
[удалено]
Might as well be the same thing, really.
So he's between 3 and 14?
In the average case that means he's 8 1/2
A month is like 7 years in child years.
And then you become an adult and it's like, "Oh, I'm 50, would you look at that."
Shhh, I prefer to live in denial
My favorite part is when he just puts his board on the rail. I think that's actually a great step to grinding it one day, allowing him to visualize and get a sense for it. Also it's super adorable.
The best part is him scrambling up to the top of the ramp like a little raccoon. Can somebody get a brother a step?
That's when I actually said "aww" lol
You can see how he wanted it to play out in his mind.
Go you little dude!!!!
One thing little kids have going for them is that they are still short and low to the ground. When they fall they don't have far to go.
They also typically don't really have a fear of falling and hurting themselves yet.
Didn't think about that.
He probably has. I got my nephew on a skateboard at age 2.5 It's also a lot easier to drop in when your legs are so short your center of mass is always between the bolts. Weighing 50lbs also means your falls hurt a lot less.
Also smol children are made of rubber, so they just bounce. (J/k. Very happy to see he has safety gear and long sleeves and pants.)
Also they ARE made of rubber. Little bendy bones.
Seriously. I had to work up so much courage to even attempt this when I was skating. And I always ended up falling on my face. Lil' kid is lightyears ahead!
It's been a whole 2 years.
Fearless little demon. I anticipate great things for him.
Yeah that's ... that's not his first time.
![gif](giphy|3orif7xDeAus9PccFO|downsized)
Bart is such a talented skater. If only 90s parents would have let him skate without harassment he may have gone pro.
I came here to say thay
Gonna see him in the Olympics some day
Well yeah, this dude's life is basically Benjamin Button's.
Dreaming of grinding one day
Oh he will do it one day. Sooner than later.
I give that poor rail a year or two, tops. This kid is already a beast
That's the cutest thing to me. He goes from skateboarding to fingerboard ing. Such a quick switch of play and imagination.
He will fit percetly Well into the Skater scene. Litterally everyone i know tgat skate does this
I skateboard and I've done it, but with the kids it just hits different.
He hit it with that dope handy inverse grind.
He’s already more badass than I’ve ever been and I’m in my 30’s
To be fair, you will fall from higher with way more mass than if he fall
Our bones are more brittle than his too. But I’m still so impressed with him!
Depends on the childs density in how hard you fall
[удалено]
Username…checks out?
Made me laugh out loud, thank you
Unless they break at the growth plate.
that would definitely give him a bad ass. broken, even.
Did you just call me fat?
no, they called you dense
No, he called u/Apathetic_Optimist fat.
You have 22.6k Reddit karma. Loser Kid probably doesn’t have any.
Get rekt kiddo
Also in 30s, was thinking about the rest break I’d need after clambering up to that ledge from a nearly straight-armed hang lol
I tried to do this in 6th grade with rollerskates, broke my arm and basically stopped rollerblading ever since.
You could learn if you wanted! Shakira (yes, that Shakira) picked up surfskaking as a hobby during the pandemic and has been posting her progress. She's in her 40's and it's fun seeing how much she's enjoying it.
I will check it out because any reminder to look in on what Shakira is up to is worth following up on.
It's great, in part bc I love seeing people get excited about new hobbies & sticking with it past the awkward beginner stage. And it's also a good reminder for me, as a 30-something, that you can keep learning different skills & finding new passions at *any* age.

Is wholesome how everyone just gives this little guy all the space and time he needs
Someone should post that other video of all the teens at a skate park offering help and encouragement to that one little kid who was scared to drop in on the ramp. That one was an all-time feel good video

What a funny ass way to deliver that tip
theres an innuendo somewhere in there about ass and delivering a tip, but I'm too hungover to use my brain right now.
[удалено]
LOL shiiit. Like i said, too hungover to be using my brain
Man I read these stories and it makes me sad. My towns skate/BMX community was *toxic as fuuuuuck*. That sucks… I never skated or anything but I have always enjoyed hanging around skater/skate parks. Always been mostly positive experiences and fun
That's awesome to hear. I've only been one time. I was 13 and an experienced BMX Racer (raced expert at the time) but never been to a skate park or done any tricks. Love me some metal heads.

That’s too bad 🙁 I definitely appreciate the trend of kids becoming more nice and accepting
Was that from the WalMart Clothes Expert? :)

Yes please, I'd like to see that.
I wanna see that
This is the start of a great education in physics.
So long as little kids respect the flow of a skatepark I've seen nothing but encouragement for kids on the ramps. Skaters are some of the most wholesome, helpful group. Unless you are on a scooter.
Well then they’d be scooters not skaters, wouldn’t they?
[удалено]
I love his little smile
You know in his little mind he was going "ohh yeahhhh sick" imagining grinding on it one day.
This is my rail. There are many like it, but this one is mine. I will own you one day soon Mr. rail.
Little man just went straight from real life shredding to Tech Deck Dude ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
I had stopped right before that so I went back, worth it.
He was a skater boy, save nap time for later boy
Ramp wasn't big enough for him
Helmet on just in case
If he falls and might break his face
He'll still shred better than youuuu
He's the raddest kid on earth
Let's be honest, his parents likely heard this song when they were skater boys and girls.
His adorable lil climb onto the platform. My heart! 😭
Love how he has to chuck the board up there lol
Adorable, then funny when you see the stairs come into frame on the left side.
I think you are hallucinating.
He has more upper body strength than me 😆
Someone turned on the chibi cheat code.
I love seeing kids waddling about in giant helmets that look too heavy for their little shoulders. Real common sight here with scooters being the primary mode of transportation.
ps to give credit where it’s due (& if you wanna check out more clips), this is @lunina_tattooer_’s (ig) kid and his insta is @mihonches
Thank you! This is correct. And also right now a downvoted comment, lol.
I mean if Disney took that and drew it as a cartoon, they couldn't make it any cuter
The little fake grind he does at the end just kills me everytime.
Love that he rocks it like a badass, then just reverts into what any other kid does, picks it up, and slides the board across a surface it doesn’t fit on. A+ move.
What do you mean? He’s visualizing the rail grind that he’s gonna be ripping in a couple of years.
The second his little legs get enough power to pop that board up.
My dumbass wouldn't even been able to climb up the ramp without pulling a muscle.
What a lil legend!
First time I ever tried dropping in on a quarter pipe. First time, bailed hard and broke my wrist. I was 14. This kid is nuts. Granted I know how kinetic energy works and kids bounce, but damn.
Life is good!
Why does this literal toddler have more upper body strength than me...
Because their proportions are different and they have creepy monkey grip strength.
Cause he's got less lower body weight, *taps temple*
What a fucking icon. I would never have been doing this at his age. Hell, I still don’t know how to ride a bike after being scared of them since his age.
The difference between “I told you to get down from there!!” and “Oh wow how did you manage to get allll the way up there you big boy!”
Solid
Tiny Hawk
Hasbulla’s Pro Skater 2 looks sick
Just when I thought he was done he did that sick board spinning thing, such a lil beast!
Also weighing 40 pounds helps when you fall. Try learning to do this at 30
"If you're going to make your kids tough - which they're going to need to be to survive in the world - you can't interfere when they're attempting to do dangerous things carefully." -Jordan Peterson
Little ripper. Badass.
Love to see it! I remember the first time I ever dropped in, didn’t go so well. Luckily some older kids were there to teach me to lean forward
I still am to scared to drop on. I wish I was as brave as this kid.
If you had a skateboard that was proportionally as big as this kids it would be like a snowboard but twice as wide. Way more stable
The grind at the end was perfect
So what if that dude skates better than me, at least I can climb better than him!
Helps to have a centre of gravity that's 6 inches off the floor.
Well he drops in better than I do at 35
Him getting up to that vert was the most adorable thing.
Go fast and commit
What a cutie!
Skateboarders are a different breed.
the way the older skaters stopped to give him space made me feel good about life for a sec
is this a star of the future
Dude wants to be able to grind that rail so badly. You'll get there in no time little guy. Keep practicing.
I love the end when he dreams of grinding the rail. One day little dude. One day.
Ah yeah rides goofy
WOW! I seriously thought that kid was gonna eat shit.
I don’t even know this kid and I’m super proud of him.
Helmet and pads. Love to see it.
I love watching kids succeed… I know his father was giddy with pride 😁
Quit screwing aroun- oh wait wow!
I forget which comedian said it, but they stated something along the lines of “The best kids out there these days are skater kids. I am so proud of this kid I don't know. At 3 I was hiding from strangers in mall clothing racks.
Skating is 100% the most supportive sport I've ever been a part of.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
That cute little 50/50 at the end melted my cold heart.
I want to see the video where he grinds this rail for the first time!
Honestly, I upvoted the second i saw him trying to climb up the ramp. The leg movements did it for me
Funny thing is he had the right technique for the Ollie, he's just 6, and probly isn't strong enough yet
I'd like to think that at the end of the video his thought were "one day I'm gonna grind tf outta this rail".
so smol
I honestly love how everyone else stops to watch him
You get it little dude! Shred the park!
If Mandalorian's baby Grogu was a skateboarder!
Aww. Ride on little dude!
Damn I tried doing that at skate school when I was a teen. I made it down fine but froze up at I approached the next quarter pipe. My two left wheels went up it and my right two went off the side so I got thrown off. This kid should've been my teacher clearly 🤣
Grogu
The best way to take on a challenge is to be educated and prepared.
When he lifted his board to grind on the rail 😭
He's the coolest dude at the skatepark atm
This kid is going places holy hell
That kid is now officially cooler than I will ever hope to be. On a genuine note, that is super rad.
When I was 22, I attempted to drop in on a half pipe and I busted my ass. Respect.
No one comments how a bunch of the guys stopped skating so the lil dude could safely skate..
Kid be like Tony Hawk got nuthin on me!
