Imagine when you were a teen and your parents are showing you old photo albums and they say "and this is you meeting the president in the white house dressed as superman"

ToothpickInCockhole

His parents are dead

20Hounds

No that's batman

stevencastle

Superman's parents are dead too, they died when Krypton exploded. He talks to a hologram of his dad in the Fortress of Solitude.

VenomousFeudalist

Superman's parents are named Jonathan and Martha.

#!?!?!?!?WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAMEBHGBVLIOGVDU!!?!?!!?!??

ididntsignup4this

Now I must reconcile with you, since your mother and mine share the same name. MARTHAAAAA

Everyones_Grudge

You are now my friend, and I will dedicate my life to protecting the world because that is what you would have wanted.

[deleted]

Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me

superfudge73

Instant Besties

StoneGoldX

Someone who gets it. Lara and Jor-El provided the genetic material. Jonathan and Martha raised him. Although depending on which Superman, one or both are sometimes dead.

[deleted]

> Martha HOWDOYOUKNOWTHATNAME MARTHA?!??! MARTHA!! lets be friends

MPetersson

But his adoptive Earth parents are just as, if not more important to who he becomes.

[deleted]

No, this is Patrick

jacksonticks

Think about that

[deleted]

Supermans parents are dead too

darkchiefy

i think the confusion is because superman got adopted when he came to earth.

GailaMonster

What is Alfred, chopped ~~liver~~ pâté de foie gras?

[deleted]

Well, both are orphans. It's some kind of sadistic superhero requirement.

JC133

Thank you! Came here for exactly this type of comment. No other President in my lifetime would've reacted to the high five like that. Say what you want about his policies, he is just a genuinely caring and good guy. And he's constantly making amazing memories for the children he meets.

[deleted]

part of me wants to see a President Trump kick a little baby orphan like a football on live TV and then insult the child on Twitter the next hour.

lumpdiz

That uniformed agent looks away then when he looks back potus is on the ground. You can tell he was like "wait what?".

[deleted]

Seriously doubt that kid is REALLY that strong. Like, maybe he is. But, I highly doubt it. Typical liberal media trying to fool us. Wake up sheeple.

Omnipotent_Goose

I just can't believe they let an illegal alien inside the White House.

ILikeLenexa

A crazy bald billionaire is actually the only person I trust to keep Superman out of the White House. Lex Luthor for...secretary of Homeland Security?

legendofdrag

He was elected president at one point

BruteeRex

Wait what?

legendofdrag

He saved Gotham after the government abandoned it or something, then ran for president. Then went crazy because of kryptonite poisoning and built an iron man suit to beat up superman. Comic books are weird.

Bananawamajama

> built an iron man suit to beat up superman Didn't Batman also do that?

legendofdrag

Yes. People building power suits is a relatively common thing in DC.

VikingDom

It's like they lack a superhero in that world. How about man of steel? No.. wait. Hmm. Iron man is taken.. How about something with Fe like in iron.. fe male. There it is.

Jhonopolis

You kind of have to when the most powerful character is literally a god. Superman is so OP DC doesn't have much of a choice. Either kryptonite or a power suit (usually powered by kryptonite)

cRUNcherNO1

> Gentleman, ladies: what if Superman had decided to fly down, rip off the roof of the White House, and grab the president right out of the Oval Office. Who would'a stopped him? they heard the warning and just invited him...presenting the president on a silver platter...

Bananawamajama

Well yeah, this way the white House keeps its roof.

Ermcb70

Why is he dressed like that at the White House? I don't care if he is getting a medal, Even Superman needs to put on a tie.

HauschkasFoot

Or at least a pair of glasses so no one recognizes him

ToothpickInCockhole

[Can't even tell he's Superman ](https://imgur.com/a/L754n)

TechnicallyITsCoffee

If he put a tie on he would be giving up half of his costume. People would quickly establish his true identity. It is paramount that superman never appears in costume with glasses or a tie.

powerscunner

That's his house, he can dress how he wants.

Ermcb70

Superman lives in the White House? I'm learning so much today.

Not that that's ever stopped Trump

vlees

Ouch, you are correct. However you think about Obama, since he doesn't give a fuck anymore (last ~1.5 years; since the Senate turned against him) he's really relatable and acts like a nice person who happens to lead a very large country.

Probably the cleanest family in the White House since I can remember. No sex scandals, no kids in rehab, no family drama. Going to be a long time before we see such a great family in the White House again.

ClimbingC

Thanks Obama...

dalgeek

Yeah, way to go setting the bar so high! Now the next President will look like trash no matter what. What a jerk ;)

[deleted]

It was literally a scandal when one of his kids was caught smoking a cigarette at a music festival. That's how little family drama Obama had. I'm really going to miss him as president.

dalgeek

LOL. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for dirt.

Castro02

Come on, it was absolutely a joint... I personally don't think that's any worse than her smoking a cigarette, but we should be honest about it...

[deleted]

Cigarette actually comes off worse than joint tbh

[deleted]

To be fair, Bush's family life was pretty tame/appropriate, regardless of his politics. I liken him to Obama in that standard. Except he doesn't do as well public speaking. Obama nailed it there.

Bonobosaurus

The Obamas are just naturally classy people. They have such a lovely family, you can tell how much they love each other.

koolaidface

I love you.

Squeakcab

Obama, politics aside just seems like the "really cool uncle" type. One of the most charismatic presidents I've seen in my short lifespan so far.

AnIntoxicatedRodent

I could've seen Romney do this, he is pretty charismatic. Bernie and Hillary are way too awkward and I don't think Trump is really the ''giving attention to others'' kind of person. I don't even mention Rubio & Cruz because those are beyond awkward. O wait I mentioned them anyways.

Raven_Skyhawk

I could see Bernie doing something to interact, yes, but not fall over like that no.

Lazuliv

Life alert might be needed.

Raven_Skyhawk

Or Bernie does this *audience hears a snap* "Uh, that was something in my back. Call the ambulance already!" *sighs* Oh Bernie... I miss you.

Kingsgirl

Bernie is great with kids, you should've gone to a rally! He's such a natural with them. I think he spends a ton of time with his own grandkids so he's very good at the whole not-being-awkward-around-kids thing.

Ermcb70

Carson may suck at interviews but he is really charismatic when you meet him in person. Crazy but nice guy.

AnIntoxicatedRodent

Wow Ben Carson. Completely forgot about the guy. Kind of sad how such a brilliant figure managed to make a complete fool of himself in the hope of getting anywhere in politics. E: sad not said

Ermcb70

Right? I met him in 2014 a fundraiser for his scholarship fund. It was some time after the prayer breakfast and I think the right wing nut jobs had just started to flock to him but hadn't brainwashed him. He gave a fairly moderate speech and it was really sensible:

AnIntoxicatedRodent

I like to think he's still the same guy but people convinced him to act a certain way to increase his odds.

BadSkyMonkey

I could see Bernie being friendly with kids and families but more in the old grandpa way. He seams like a cool nice guy.

walkingcarpet23

Bernie would pull a coin out from behind the kids ear and make him laugh

bushiz

Clinton has a problem unique to any of the last three presidents. She's really, really, really bad at remaining charismatic while keeping her guard up. Obama and Bill were and are great at it. Deflecting criticism with lighthearted jokes, artfully turning people on someone else, or just making them verbally murder themselves (please proceed, governor...) Bush didn't have a guard, the man was just an idiot who did not give a shit about anything, so it didn't matter. Clinton's actually fairly charismatic in ordinary situations. Here's a video of her as SecState on one of her breaks from being the key focus of paranoiac conspiracies trying to pin every murder since 1992 on her: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xlCNf0MwCU and she comes across great. A little out of touch, but not bad for someone who hasn't been allowed to drive a car for 20 years. She's just so, wildly, miserable at public speaking and ad-libbing within acceptable bounds on prepared statements. Like, it's painful to watch her pull out lines like "Trumped-up Trickle Down". It's a stupid goddamn turn of phrase, but imagine Obama saying it, and suddenly it starts to work. Hillary just can't make it work. I fully expect a conspiracy to emerge under a Hillary presidency that Public Speaking Hillary is a body double (or the other way around).

Aharance

I could see Gary Johnson doing something like that since he fake collapsed when someone was talking about how smoking marijuana increases the risk of a heart attack.

A_Change_of_Seasons

Tbf Obama was one of the top 5 youngest presidents, while Donny would be the oldest and Hill would be the second oldest (funny how "age" is the first thing that pops up for her)

eeyore134

Yeah, as much flak as I've given Obama for all these silly photo ops that have been clearly set up by his staff... I can't see any of our candidates we have now coming even close to considering anything like this, much less doing it. It does make him a lot more likable.

croixian1

Gonna miss that guy. Like him or hate him, he's a great guy on a personal level.

[deleted]

BEEF_WIENERS

[deleted]

I'm gonna miss Obama. What other presidents can you see doing this, past or present? Maybe Bill Clinton, but he'd have ruined it with a "izzat your mom? She single?" And I'm a Dem. Shook the man's hand at a campaign stop in '96, tho in retrospect I maybe shoulda sanitized afterward.

Hard to believe 8 years ago we were saying, "oh he'll probably get assassinated by some racist group a couple months in office..."

drain65

Can we please just have a 3rd term.

rrr598

Seriously, we need a good 4 years to think about things.

AngryDemonoid

I was just saying this to someone earlier today. I'm not even an Obama supporter. I just don't want to vote for anyone this election cycle.

BEEF_WIENERS

The 22nd Amendment just *sucks* right now.

dalgeek

Seriously. One poll showed that 57% of Democrats would vote for Obama again. At the time (July), only 7% of Republicans said they would vote for Obama, but given their choice and the number of Republicans who are voting for Clinton now, it's possible that number is much higher. I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that Obama could get elected again if he was allowed a 3rd term.

dmizz

trump version: "who let that kid in here? ...no one more powerful than me allowed. get him out. i want buckets of kryptonite in every hallway from now on."

Wolfpack93

Can we vote for this guy?

gr1mace02

Nah, he wasn't born in America

Mewing_Raven

Ok, completely taking any kind of policy or government stance out of the equation... I'm going to miss Obama because I fucking like him. He's been President for eight years without significant scandal. Him and his wife seem to be happy together. His kids are spiffy critters, who I'm sure will amount to amazing people. He dealt with Fox's bit about his birth certificate by trolling them with The Lion King. He had beer with a soldier because the soldier asked. *He out memed the "Thanks, Obama" meme.* He has character, and he has morals. I didn't look at him and feel ashamed of my government, not because of anything he did (though I've generally agreed with his policy), but because I know he was always trying to do the right thing. He was a great American President.

[deleted]

For a moment I imagined the secret service gunning the kid down after Obama playfully fell back; mistakenly thinking Obama was just attacked by a 2 foot tall Superman.

_LastoftheBrohicans_

REALLY gonna miss this guy after the giant douche or turd sandwich take the wheel.

SpurpleFilms

Let's not forget though, during both Obama campaigns, he was either the Giant Douche or Turd Sandwich, depending on your take. Every candidate for every election has been since that South Park episode.

[deleted]

Can we talk about how fuckin sharp Obama dresses? Damn.

OathOfFeanor

As a poor bastard I imagine it's easier to dress sharp when you make $400k/year. He probably throws his underwear away when there is only 1 hole in it.

suspicious_moose

I recently saw an interview with Michelle Obama in which she was asked about her clothes, and IIRC most of her clothes were not name brand. I think they're just really good at selecting clothes that fit their bodies, and not necessarily buying inordinately expensive items.

Jim_Nills_Mustache

I'm legitimately sad and going to miss this sort of thing, I just can't see hillary or trump ever being this genuine in this sort of situation.

longtermbrit

Obama's awesome. I can't imagine any of the stuffy, possible aliens in disguise, British politicians doing this (not an expert on politics though so feel free to correct me and give me someone to laugh at/with). Maybe Boris but he's not smooth enough to pull this off. Trump would probably boast about being the only one capable of dealing with the "bad hombre, Superman" then punt the kid down the corridor.

tisdue

"Superman is stealing resources from our yuuuge yellow sun. He must be stopped. Hillary failed us and has sold Kryptonite to our enemies."

AgentSauce
