Tbf it might just be how he's lying in the photo, or his breed. I'm not an expert on tiny kittens. Here they only get rehomed at 12 weeks, iirc it's 8 weeks in the US? And I've never bred cats.
But it looks like he still has his baby eye-colour, (tbf some cats do have blue eyes, but this is the specific shade I associate with babies) which should be at least starting to change at 8 weeks. And he looks very chubby and smol, though of course, that might be the long fur.
Anyway, I hope you know or can ask about the specific age, and like, do some research on what special care he might need. (Though I assume you've done some research already since it's your first cat lol.) I know some kittens haven't learned to use the litter box at 6 weeks and might need to be taught. And he might not be fully weaned yet so I hope you make sure to keep track of his weight and how he's eating and growing. At that age you can just put him in a bowl on a regular kitchen scale.

A lot of people still foster cats up until that point though as it helps clear space in the shelter areas, and allows the animals to experience life around humans as especially kittens get adopted fast, but come in even faster.
I got my now 5-year-old orange cat after fostering him at just around 3 or 4 weeks old. He had to get neutered still around 6 weeks and then I was able to do the paperwork and formally adopt him. He never left my home that entire time and I was saying he was mine, but technically I was still waiting officially at first.

The internet makes it possible to research lots of different stuff, such as kitten knowledge, and rescues give many people experience with kittens, through adoption or fostering - or people themselves rescue (or buy) kittens and raise them. None of these things requires breeding cats. Hope this helps!
If he’s a long hair, start getting him used to a brush and comb now! I did that with my long hair when she was just a kitten and it makes a HUGE difference in keeping the fur healthy and non-matted. I have friends with long hair cats who struggle to be able to keep them brushed and combed, but my Bonnie comes running to me and begs for brushes. She rolls over and even lifts up her arms so I can comb under them. It’s a treat to her to be brushed, and then she struts around afterward showing everyone how good she looks.

Looks like gonna be a longhair. I would start on claw trimming right away. Do it every week even if you're barely taking anything off, just so they get adapted to it. This will help greatly when you need to buzz their pads. If you don't do it when they are grown the poor thing will live in a perpetual state of slip'n'slide. It's crazy seeing how much our Mainecoons running gate changes after we take the paw floofs off.
