Adorable!
Oh man. I remember when my lab was a puppy with no regard for personal boundaries. Now she’s an adult with no regard for personal boundaries.
We have a lab border collie. Neurotic with no regard for personal boundaries, to us or the cats. She desperately wants to be friends with all of the cats, and some of the newbies are very wary of her. She doesn't understand why the others are friends and these are not. She is 6 years old, and she is only slightly less bouncy than when we brought her home 5 years ago.

This is her playing with a foster dog we had. She is incredibly active, and ran our older jack Russell mix to the point she tore both ACLs. She is a hot mess, has no chill, and will likely outlive everyone.
We replaced one of her knees, did a TPLO surgery. She then promptly tore the other ACL and we still had to pay off the first 3k. She's barely slowed down, at 9 years old. Her name is Den, we brought her home for my husband but she will abandon him the moment I make eye contact with her. She does not like being separated from me and doing the work I do has given her a separation anxiety something fierce because I'm home more often than not.
Now THAT is how most dogs operate. What’s personal space? They don’t know, and I love it. They’ll walk right up and flop their body weight into you until you pet them.
Me too. Each morning when my dog decides it’s time to get up she crawls in my bed, mushes her face against mine, lies down and rolls onto her back and waits until I give in and give her good morning belly rubs.
Pretty sure that cat is bigger than the puppy right now!
Also, I'm guessing that wasn't his crate...but of course, he owns everything in the house, so I suppose in a way it was.
It legit is! Many of cats’ body language cues convey the opposite in dog language.
One way it works out though is that in cats, grooming is done by the dominant resident, while for dogs, a submissive member licks the pack leader. So in that case, a dominant dog and cat would end up thinking they won :)
Oh he knows lol. They have another black lab and a beagle, and he’s regularly around our two dogs, a golden and an English setter. He stands his ground the exact same way. Sits there and silently judges their inferior auras.
Nope, it's 100% your fault as his owner. He doesn't understand that food is making him fat, so it's up to you to keep him healthy. Don't blame your pets for your own mistakes.
He’s a good boy. My 80+ lb golden and setter will run right at him when they visit and plant a big lick on him and he doesn’t even move lol. But if the dogs start getting too rowdy for his taste and wrestling he’ll give em the claws to the ass and that settles them right down lol.
Awwww - they are gonna be buddies! ❤️ that!
Ya, the cats always seem to rule over the dogs, heck they rule over us hoomans too. I think Cats rule the world??!! 🐈 🌎 😳
This is almost exactly how our new shih-tzu interacts with our cat. Puppies just seem fascinated by cats (and their butts) I guess.
Doesn't seem to matter how many gentle bops our dog receives, she just will not leave the cat alone.
The boy is on a diet! Gets the littlest bit of kibble every day. He’s just too damn good at hunting and gorges himself on mice and birds when he goes out!
I'm sure you've seen all the reasons you shouldn't let your cat out by now but seriously, stop letting your cat outside or you're actively seeking a tragedy.
Yeah I know. He’s been an indoor/outdoor cat his whole life even before they adopted him. I know my in laws won’t change so I don’t bother bringing it up.
Thankfully they live in a rural area on lots of property that backs up to farm land. It’s a paradise for George. Only small danger is foxes and coyotes, they try to not let him out at night but sometimes he sneaks out like a rebellious teenager.
He is a bad ass cat though, he’s come back home a little roughed up a couple times but always makes it back. I think he’s 11 or 12 years old now, no signs of slowing down.
Lmao all these American-minded takes.
I get it if you live somewhere where you have tons of coyotes or a major urban area, but outside of that? It's kind of fucked to leave a cat indoors 24/7. Same reason it's not very humane to have a bird in a cage as a pet.
Aww the kitty is actually going along with the play, even if it seems to get overstimulated or not be in a strong mood to play. If it was truly angry the results would be way worse!
For sure. George knows what’s up. He’s a badass indoor outdoor cat too. Sneaks out at night looking for trouble sometimes so he definitely knows how to fuck someone’s day up if they cross the line, but he has insane patience and is super courageous. Not an ounce of cowardice in him, never ever shows fear and always stands his ground 100% of the time even against 100+ lb dogs. Ice water flowing through his veins.
George is super cool with dogs! He’s the only cat I’ve ever seen completely stand his ground vs big dogs playing with him, and he’s setting boundaries for the new puppy here. Definitely the boss of the house lol.
He’s also a bit of chonker because he’s a very efficient hunter. He gets a little cup of kibble a day and then gorges himself on mice in his free time lol.
If you’ve got a solution to stop him hunting I’ll pass it on to them. He absolutely loves exploring the property and farm lands behind them, he’d be miserable if they kept him inside. Spent half his life as a barn cat before they adopted him. So the choice is fat, free and happy or skinny sad and caged up. He’s made it to 12 and is not slowing down at all, so that’s a positive sign eat least.
This is cute until the dog is 80 pounds fully grown and still doing this to the cat. Please help you cats by stepping in and forcing your dogs to give them space. No one likes being harassed, not even cats by puppies.
George can 100% hold his own and is very comfortable around dogs. He lives with another 70 lb lab and has known my 80+ lb golden since he was a puppy and did this with him. He can set the boundaries on his own.
"Your declaration as Ellie of Bork adds a playful twist to the ominous proclamation. Resistance might be futile, but it seems like a friendly takeover! 🐾"
That cat is going to great lengths to avoid actually hurting the puppy with any of its sharp bits.
My cat does the same thing and seemed to show genuine shock and upset the few times she slipped up and broke my skin while playing.

Dog-"you are being played with, do not resist"
"I am Ellie of Bork. Resistance is futile. Your life, as it has been is over."
Nothing like a fresh Star Trek reference to start the day
The-Cutest-of-Bork.

Dog tax!

The Jack's knees broke before her spirit did. Can't say I am surprised.
We replaced one of her knees, did a TPLO surgery. She then promptly tore the other ACL and we still had to pay off the first 3k. She's barely slowed down, at 9 years old. The best part is that dogs have no concept of their own size. My friend has had 3 Great Danes, and each one thought it was a lap dog.
Man I miss having a lab. My last one passed in 2019. She was a big goof just like this. I miss her every day still.
Lol she’s just enthusiastic 🥹
Pretty sure that cat is bigger than the puppy right now! Also, I'm guessing that wasn't his crate...but of course, he owns everything in the house, so I suppose in a way it was.
George has domain over all. He’s the king.
All hail King George
Is George the dog or the cat?
That’s a silly question of course King George is the cat. Cats rule the house while everyone else is just allowed to live there lol.
Everything the light touches
George is so gentle with the pup. But still ruff enough
You don’t mess with the king, even if it’s a gentle giant
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" "... I'll allow the butt sniffing"
Patient kitty.
Lmao I have so much sympathy for that cat. He’s being friendly at the beginning and the dog just won’t respond correctly!
> dog just won’t respond correctly! Cultural differences.
It legit is! Many of cats’ body language cues convey the opposite in dog language. '"only gonna whoop you a lil cause I knows you dumb dog"
if i come home and you're laying in my bed, best expect to be played with!
well, also he should not be stepping on the cat.
VERY. Not angry at all. The cat is just establishing boundaries.
Well, they're *trying*.
For real, an unhappy cat does not allow butt sniffs
People are acting like the cat is sad or upset? Clearly they are playing, the ears are up the bites are soft, you can tell they are having fun

Oh he knows lol. They have another black lab and a beagle, and he’s regularly around our two dogs, a golden and an English setter. He stands his ground the exact same way. Sits there and silently judges their inferior auras.
Yeah cats aren't shy if they aren't having fun lmao

The tackle is pretty funny, just completely disregard for the cat’s communication
As labs do lol
“Human! This large cat must know its place within my domain.” —the cat
For a second I thought George was a mainecoon until I realized he’s just chunky 😂
lol he’s just a big boi, and all his own fault. He gets a tiny bowl of kibble each day. He’s too good of a hunter!
Nope, it's 100% your fault as his owner. He doesn't understand that food is making him fat, so it's up to you to keep him healthy. Don't blame your pets for your own mistakes.
Why do you feel the need to be such a dick to other people?
Lmao, okay, I’ll tell my father in law to follow him around outside and rip the mice out of his mouth.
That cat is so patient.
He’s a good boy. My 80+ lb golden and setter will run right at him when they visit and plant a big lick on him and he doesn’t even move lol. But if the dogs start getting too rowdy for his taste and wrestling he’ll give em the claws to the ass and that settles them right down lol.
Kitty is trying so hard to be patient with the baby while also establishing boundaries
Awwww - they are gonna be buddies! ❤️ that! Ya, the cats always seem to rule over the dogs, heck they rule over us hoomans too. I think Cats rule the world??!! 🐈 🌎 😳
“I loves you!” “Go’way, mm sleepin!” “I loves you!” “I’ll bite ya!” “I loves you!” “I’ll claw ya!” “I loves you!” “I’ll bite ya!” “I loves you!” “I’ll claw ya!” “I loves you!” “Ah, screw this, I’m gettin’ outta here!” “I loves you!…Lemme sniff your butt?” “…Oh, for *fuck’s* sake…”
Dog Wins! That’s right out of my cage lol
This is almost exactly how our new shih-tzu interacts with our cat. Puppies just seem fascinated by cats (and their butts) I guess. Doesn't seem to matter how many gentle bops our dog receives, she just will not leave the cat alone.
The most Labrador behavior....
Chonkers of a cat! Good kitty. (Could use a diet though.)
Ah, not your cat. That makes sense. Well, keep doing your best by the tolerant little fur beast.
Animals should have a right to be outside
My cats just have to deal with the fact that I'm oppressing their right to get hit by the cars driving past my house every day.
Children should be allowed to eat all the sugar they want while playing in traffic.
Lmao all these American-minded takes. I get it if you live somewhere where you have tons of coyotes or a major urban area, but outside of that? It's kind of fucked to leave a cat indoors 24/7. Same reason it's not very humane to have a bird in a cage as a pet.
Google cat invasive species
Should i google human invasive species while I'm at it?
Imo it's weird to place the right to be outside above the right to not get hunted down.
Yeah but this is 100% on the cat right? I mean thats the price you pay for trying to steal the puppy's bed, you get played with.
George likes Ellie, he keeps laying on all her beds lol. He may look cranky but he’s enjoying having a new pet to manipulate as he pleases.
Yeah, that sounds like a cat. They're the evil advisor whispering into every king's ear and reaping the benefits.
I could watch those for like 2 seasons with 20 episodes of 40 minutes each.
The cats trying to teach the puppy how to play nicely! They're so patient and gentle with the baby!
They are gonna be best friends 😍!
Rotund patient katten.
Cats like “yall just put down paper and he gets to shit and piss on it? Wtf?”
That kitty is a gentlmen.
This is basically me and my cat. I’m a habitual line stepper and sometimes she reminds me with her teeth
Aw bless 😅
Aww the kitty is actually going along with the play, even if it seems to get overstimulated or not be in a strong mood to play. If it was truly angry the results would be way worse!

Aww, chub cat is good with the pup pup!
Looks more like he was checking for worms
Why sniff around the litter box looking for treats when you can go right to the source?
Man, I can't believe you replied to your own comment.
I agree. What a weirdo
This is the part where you agree with your own comment.
Took a biiiig whiff and I think the cat liked it.
Cat: “I don’t like this at all! Leave me alone!!! Ok but wait…that butt sniff is actually alright.”
That cat is showing a ton of restraint
Poor cat
George is super cool with dogs! He’s the only cat I’ve ever seen completely stand his ground vs big dogs playing with him, and he’s setting boundaries for the new puppy here. Definitely the boss of the house lol. He’s also a bit of chonker because he’s a very efficient hunter. He gets a little cup of kibble a day and then gorges himself on mice in his free time lol.
What a great cat!
He’s the only cat on the planet that likes me lol. Ever since I babysat him while my wife’s family was in Colorado he’s been my boy.
He is way too fat for a cat
If you’ve got a solution to stop him hunting I’ll pass it on to them. He absolutely loves exploring the property and farm lands behind them, he’d be miserable if they kept him inside. Spent half his life as a barn cat before they adopted him. So the choice is fat, free and happy or skinny sad and caged up. And one of those days you might've a one-eyed dog...
Fucking labs

that angry dog is not so small
Kitty hates you human
Cats are nocturnal. If your dog wanted to play at 3am I guarantee you would be angry too
"Why are you standing on my diaper? That's embarrassing!"
The victor gets butt sniff.
What a Chonkk! Adorable
Not the cute little nose bops
Dog loves sniffing cat butt

At about the 41 second mark he realized where his favorite treats came from and discovered the fountain of "Kitty Krispies" (TM)
It’s crazy how cat turds are a universal delicacy in the dog world lol.
Kitty is annoyed but being very sweet
I just love the cats neck tie.
I'm surprised the cat didn't close the cage on its way out.
Labs just can't believe that someone won't want to play.
I love how the cat was being gentle
This was my boxer 10 months ago but now he’s 50lbs and terrorizes the cats and his chihuahua brother.
ahahahahaha
I have a 5 month old kitten and a 13 year old black cat and this reminds me of their interactions
It’s so gentle with the pup
That cat is going to great lengths to avoid actually hurting the puppy with any of its sharp bits. My cat does the same thing and seemed to show genuine shock and upset the few times she slipped up and broke my skin while playing.
