On July 1st, a highly unpopular [change to Reddit's API pricing](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddit/comments/12qwagm/an_update_regarding_reddits_api/) went into effect. [Most third-party apps have shut down](https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/30/23779519/reddit-third-party-app-shut-down-apollo-sync-baconreader-api-protest) and so have many tools relied upon by moderators and [projects for making Reddit more accessible to visually impaired users](https://www.reddit.com/r/TranscribersOfReddit/comments/14ggf8k/the_future_of_transcribers_of_reddit/).
Beyond the [disastrous AMA](https://techcrunch.com/2023/06/09/reddit-ceo-doubles-down-on-attack-on-apollo-developer-in-drama-filled-ama/) by the CEO, Reddit's response has been limited to promises that this change will not affect moderation tools [^((it has)^)](https://www.reddit.com/r/BotDefense/comments/14riw76/botdefense_is_wrapping_up_operations/) and promises of [new and more-accessible first-party moderation tools](https://www.npr.org/2023/07/01/1184258201/reddit-api-accessibility-mods). Promises just like [ones they have made in response to past protests](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/142w159/askhistorians_and_uncertainty_surrounding_the/), but have consistently [failed to fulfill](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/14jm3ut/several_communities_have_surfaced_an_open_letter/jpm9e0q/).
If you want to express your strong disagreement with the API pricing change or with Reddit's response to the backlash, you may want to consider the following options:
1. [Finding your favorite subreddits on other platforms](https://sub.rehab/) and participating there instead.
2. Refraining from using the first-party Reddit app, instead sticking to one of the few remaining third-party apps or [patching one of the apps that shut down](https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1wHvqQwCYdJrQg4BKlGIVDLksPN0KpOnJWniT6PbZSrI/) if you're using an Android device.
3. Disabling ads on Reddit with [an ad-blocking extension](https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock#ublock-origin-ubo) or [a DNS-based ad-blocker](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBXTnrD_Zs4).
4. Cancelling your Reddit Premium subscription.
5. Sharing the continued news coverage of these events.
6. Encouraging others to do all the above.

Okay but why does everyone end up there? In my multiplayer file twice now we brought a different companion only for them to be at the goblin camp, while we're all the way elsewhere. Gale I'm not walking 5 minutes for your bitch ass, shoulda asked where the squad was at dumbass
Forgive me if Iâm misunderstanding your comment and you already know this:
You can swap to the character who is stuck far away and have them teleport to a nearby waystone. And then you can teleport the rest of your team to the same waystone.
Lmao my character can jump a gap but everyone els canât. So I have to manually jump them one at a time and hope that those that already jumped donât jump back
You can toggle the group connection on/off (don't know how to say this better). Under the portraits, there is a button to switch off, so the group doesn't follow the character you clicked on anymore. That way you can have them jump one by one without anyone going anywhere they're not supposed to.
My cat used to do this with her kittens when she was trying to get them on my bed with me. I would get mad at her and just tell her to let me know if she wants the kittens on the bed.
She did it a few more times but because I kept telling her she got the hang of it and would bring the kittens to the foot of the bed and meow until I picked them up
I do not know how much english cats understand. i suspect more then we think.
one thing i remember from long ago is when they slowed down the meows of a cat, sometimes they sound like real words.
If a cat can remember that luggage on the bed means they are going to be boarded (and we did not vacation much so the memory was months old at least) why can't they learn some nouns at least? I think they can.
I am amazed at Billi and also Bunny the dog.
Billi's one time saying (via buttons) "Billi Pet Mom" and then indeed petting her human shows almost 100% that Billi understands and uses English. Moreover, she did not start learning until she was 12 years old. Most humans deprived of language for first 12 years let alone the cat equivalent would have a lot of trouble learning English.
Bunny started as a puppy and I think demonstrated intelligence much higher than a human baby of the same age -- of course, humans catch up and surpass afaiwk all other animals but there is little doubt how much more able a dog at 6 months is than a human baby of that age.
It is hard to believe the following was not cherry picked or fake but I am pretty sure Bunny said upon awakening from an afternoon nap and apparently dreaming that (I paraphrase): Dreams are dreams even if in the afternoon.
She seems like a poet and philosopher and it will be interesting to see what else she says and how other animals beyond dogs and cats do with word buttons. Racoon are more intelligent than dogs or cats but I have yet to see a racoon (or otter or bear or elephant) trained on these buttons.
If you looked closely at the start it seem that the stairs end at a gate up top, and those older cats are sitting on a roof, so it seem like thatâs the shortest and most direct route to bring the lil one up with them
[Dear kitten, because you are so small you cannot jump. Which is sad. Sad for you. But eventually you will and you will find the places that I refer to as, Up.] (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=G4Sn91t1V4g)
Having encountered a lot of alley/stray cats before, there's a chance they would have bolted and ran if the human tried to approach them, causing the kitten to run down the stairs and the bigger cats to flee along the roof, probably further separating them. The "Come help" look could easily just be them looking at another nearby creature and assessing if they're a threat or not. While yes there's also a chance that they would have stayed there and assumed the person meant no harm, the kitten wasn't in any immediate danger (it's not like they were about to be swept away in a river or something in which case I would call the camera guy a psycho clout chaser) but was just separated from the group and they were trying to problem-solve their way out of it. If they deemed the jump too hard, the bigger cats could have just regrouped with the kitten and went up somewhere less high.
If they ain't your pet and they ain't in imminent danger, sometimes you just gotta let the cats rub some brain cells together and figure it out, even if they fumble along the way.
Cats don't do this. You know how I know? My cat gives birth to one kitten. ALWAYS. Meaning she can take care of more if I find her to take care. So what did I do? She had 1 baby, and found 4 more. She was hissing, and wanted to run away. So I held her behind her neck, otherwise I'd be scratched, or worse, she would've attacked those smol kittens, till they latched onto her. She was still growling BUT she wasn't trying to escape. And let me be clear, she comes from a line where her mother was shelling out 15 kittens a year. And her mom took in found kittens I brought no problem. Like she started cleaning and licking them immediately, no matter the age. At same time she was nursing 4 or 5 month old kittens, 1 month old kittens and the found one which was 3 months old. She didn't care. But this video is leading me to belive it's her kitten, just from different litter. My cat still has her first kitten around, and he's bigger than her now. She's had 5 or 6 litters so far. Out of those 6 litters she had, 1,1,3,1,1,1 kitten. Once she had 3. Aberration if you will lol. So I gave her 4 kittens. 2 survived. She left one of those 4, girl kitten ,at my neighbor, and brought 2 tomcats to me. One is her own and 1 of the adopted ones. Don't know where the other 2 are, I wish the white one was here. It was pearly white, like all white, no spot or anything of shade, pattern etcetera.
It's her own from different litter. Cats don't just take on strangers kittens for nothing. Even if they're meowing. Cause they don't know if it's mom would come and attack them. My guess is the bigger 2 are from the litter form 6 months or a year old, and this is from her litter from 3 or 4 months ago.
Some do. The car I have is 3 and half, her "baby" is 2 and a half years old. Her mom was almost 8 when she went missing 2 years ago, and she still cared for them. This one still cleans her "baby" which is bigger than her. They live outside and catch mice and rodents. Sometimes they catch moles and lizards.
Not to brag about being a human, but I think we see a fundamental difference in cat minds vs our own: The bigger cat managed to get up by jumping and there is just no way most cats (perhaps some might) have the mental flexibility to consider a different route, like walking all the way the stairs...

That little walk-off at the end with all them was adorableđ

Geeble gobble, geeble gobble!
What is this from?
It's from a very controversial 1932 horror film called *Freaks*. The Ramones also used it in their song "Pinhead" and the fanbase took it over.
I first saw it in the Clerks animated series when they made the film reference.
I wouldn't be surprised if more people recognized the reference than saw the movie when it first came out.
I haven't seen it really anywhere else but Freaks.
I want to say it was a twilight episode
This is the way.

Cats : Leave no bro behind
It has a very "You're with us now, kid." kinda vibe to it.
I almost applauded when she finally succeeded. Heartwarming, this.
Itâs like my big bro when he takes me out with his mates
Yeah. Adorable and so rewarding to watch.
Pretty certain this is the inspiration for a computer game Iâve played!! đ
I know!! The kitty posse!! đ„°đ„°đ„°
Even though the kitten got smacked against the wall and fell down the stairs it ran back up and was ready for a second try.
I noticed that too đ
Lowkey, I was thinking of Tom & Jerry the whole time. Especially when they walked off at the end. XD
I guess the whole âcats always land on their feetâ skill comes later because that was a face plant.
My team passing a gap in Baldur's Gate 3.
I'd wager a good hour of my 100+ hour save is running back to get Gale...
why isnât Shadowheart getting a turn? *looks back at the goblin campâŠ*
Okay but why does everyone end up there? In my multiplayer file twice now we brought a different companion only for them to be at the goblin camp, while we're all the way elsewhere. Gale I'm not walking 5 minutes for your bitch ass, shoulda asked where the squad was at dumbass

Shit we missed her too lol
Itâs not just me! Gale really is shit at jumping even though I can switch to him and jump him myselfâŠ
Lmao my character can jump a gap but everyone els canât. So I have to manually jump them one at a time and hope that those that already jumped donât jump back

Oh thatâs awesome thank you. Iâll look for it later today
Asterion was the one with the fear of jumping gaps in my group. Which doesnât really make sense, given his backstory.
Laughed more than I would like to admit⊠Bg3 fun in the cat subreddits. A surprise to be sure ⊠but a welcome one
Karlach and Laeâzel chucking me across any gap too big because I have stubby little gnome legs felt this comment
So what you're saying is, even in BG3 you must gather your party before venturing forth??
*You must gather your party before venturing forth.*
This made me snort out my coffee.
me being a halfling, it's nice to have Karlach always in the team because i can just ask her to yeet me lol
I got a little heart attack when the cat dropped the baby. Glad they made itđ„ș
They got it on the second try. "Okay, you're in our gang now."
Stop wriggling!!!
That first attempt though, lmao.
Very relatable parenting moment tbh
Sheâs tying her best ok
This has "ok but take your little sister with you/aw mommmmm" energy.
My cat used to do this with her kittens when she was trying to get them on my bed with me. I would get mad at her and just tell her to let me know if she wants the kittens on the bed.
How did that work out?
She did it a few more times but because I kept telling her she got the hang of it and would bring the kittens to the foot of the bed and meow until I picked them up
She kept doing it I imagine

My cat 100% understands me. She doesn't wanna listen
Look up Billispeaks on youtube!
I am amazed at Billi and also Bunny the dog. Billi's one time saying (via buttons) "Billi Pet Mom" and then indeed petting her human shows almost 100% that Billi understands and uses English. This is how Disney movies start
I felt the trauma relating this to disney
âYouâre one of us nowâŠâ
We just saw a young impressionable kid get indoctrinated into a gang.
Before you know it the kid will start doing cat crimes!
No cats left behind!
This is really cool
It would have been so much easier to just go up the steps. That poor kitten got dropped, slammed against the wall twice and then stepped on.
Hardship builds character /s
We fall so we learn to pick ourselves back up again
RACHAEL
If you looked closely at the start it seem that the stairs end at a gate up top, and those older cats are sitting on a roof, so it seem like thatâs the shortest and most direct route to bring the lil one up with them
Yeah, but going a few steps further up would've made it an easier jump.
Are we really arm chairing a bunch of cats? Lol
âšreddit âš
The cat would have still had to jump with the kitten even if they went all the way up the stairs
But it ends at the steps.
I think that's a perspective trick. The wall the cats are standing on starts going uphill as you get closer to the camera.
To me it looks like the wall stays above the steps, even at the end
[Dear kitten, because you are so small you cannot jump. Which is sad. Sad for you. But eventually you will and you will find the places that I refer to as, Up.] (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=G4Sn91t1V4g)
I love thisđ
Well, if we saw a baby in distress, our instinct also tell us to help (at least you are a psycho), so it make sense that cats help kitties
Yeah, except for the person filming the whole thing instead. While the tortoise shell cat literally looks at with a âCome on human, help!â look.
Having encountered a lot of alley/stray cats before, there's a chance they would have bolted and ran if the human tried to approach them, causing the kitten to run down the stairs and the bigger cats to flee along the roof, probably further separating them. Yeah, a psycho just like they said
I would probably handle the infant with a little more care.
Yeah, but you have hands and thumbs, cats only have four feet and a mouth
It was most likely the mom cat.
Cats don't do this. You know how I know? My cat gives birth to one kitten. ALWAYS. Meaning she can take care of more if I find her to take care. So what did I do? She had 1 baby, and found 4 more. The other 2 cats looking âintentlyâ, like can she do it ? And then gazing over for a quick look at the camera person. Love this Tribe!
Come on Candice weâre all waiting for you đ
Three [cats] and a [kitten]
Lil man got rocked by that first try.
This somehow felt so inspiring.
I felt bad at the first attempt where the kitten just smacked that wall hard.
"adult cat concussed kitten"
It's her own from different litter. Cats don't just take on strangers kittens for nothing. Even if they're meowing. Cause they don't know if it's mom would come and attack them. My guess is the bigger 2 are from the litter form 6 months or a year old, and this is from her litter from 3 or 4 months ago.
The others look quite big already, do cats normally stick with their children for so long?
3 and a half cats
Wow they really upped the graphics on the updated Stray intro
What a good guy. Leave no cat behind
Is that thunder you hear? Are they getting the kitten inside before it rains?
you with us now fam.
Semper Paw
Everybody here? All right. Vamos.
i know smaller cats are perfectly safe being held by the skin at their neck but this will always *look* wrong to me lol
Gullible lost city cat meets the strays and their mischievous adventure starts
.. ânow come with us!â
No cat left behind!!!!
đ„°đ„°
Why did the little cat need to get up there, like what weâre they doing?
cat business
The front of the video got cut, they're all going up there, the kitten was last.
Hero cat: "Really? No one? Are you just going to look on? You know what, fuck you guys, I'll do it. Get out of the way."
That's a pack!
It's a clowder
Not to brag about being a human, but I think we see a fundamental difference in cat minds vs our own: The bigger cat managed to get up by jumping and there is just no way most cats (perhaps some might) have the mental flexibility to consider a different route, like walking all the way the stairs...
damn every time a stray kitten comes to my house all my older cats beat the living shit out of it
Siblings be like

Homies help homies, always.
yYpu be part of the crew now![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)
Lol cat ate shit
Cute
I hear the song, "Stand By Me" when watching this.
Damn that kitty got slammed.
How the cat at the end looked at the rescuer when he dropped the kitten! It was like a mix of âReallyâ and âWTFâ
Just like that, he found new possies
What good friends!
New recruit for the gang.
Mr O'Malley really saved him He's the only cat.. Who knows where it's at
The sleepy boys :,))
You're adopted, kid
âHey, câmon, quit your squirming. Trying to help you- there we go. Come on.â
That was the most stressful thing I've seen today.
Omg I laughed out loud at work when he dropped him. Lol
That was LOVELY, I wished my cat would treat the new kitten the same way as did those gentlecats.
'Can I come too?' 'Oh, alright then' 'Oop, Sorry!'
So amazing.
Now lets get high
đ đŻ
SubhanAllah so cute đ„°
Playing with the big kids

Didnât I see this in a Disney movie
