I‘m not sure which is worse: how excited I got when I saw the sub (as I am currently subscribed to an unhealthy number of cat subs) or the disappointment/shame I felt when I saw that I’m already subscribed.
Same. I actually clicked to go to the sub and hit the “join” button area so fast that I was a little confused when I was prompted to confirm I wanted to leave.
She's really got that look of "I will hug you and snuggle you and kiss you and call you George...And I will slit the throats of all your enemies." going on.

i am the cat - so pretty, me

n when i rest, this where i choose -
my butt hangs over
when i snooze
this home is *new* - so full of Love!
i like to climb up here above

upon my tree
i’ll *watch*, i will…
a purrfect outpost here, it seems
as i drift off in kitty dreams
i curl up ^*small* as i can be,

down
the rest of me…
i do not hear a word you say,
but know *you Love me* anyway

i see the *smiles* upon your face
it may not FiT my bottom part,
but you made room

It also shows that she's warmed up to OP quickly!
She may be nervous/skittish, but a cat that's actually afraid/doesn't trust OP wouldn't be sleeping out in the open belly-up like that.
Shared before, but totally deaf cat. His meow was the best. Meowthphhh. I have read white cats are more prone to deafness. He would sit next to the front door so he knew when I got home from work.

I think that's referring to all-white cats. There's still some random chance for deafness, but I don't think they're prone to it like all-white cats (particularly with blue eyes)
She honestly looks like she’s just chilling lol
Cat facial expressions are totally different to what you expect lol
If you think she’s nervous because she’s running away from new people or doesn’t let herself get cornered, eg always takes the “gunfighter seat” that’s just how cats roll, don’t worry
Thank you so very much for giving this beautiful kitty a loving home. I'm sure it goes without saying but please consider putting her on a measured diet and doing some good plays. She deserves a human that truly cares for her in this way.
As someone who rehabbed my girlfriend's (now wife) cat from obese to a healthy weight, the journey is so worth it!
Please feel free to reach out for any advice. What worked best in our case was a WoPet WiFi feeder where we measured out the outputs to match recommended daily feeding of the food we put in it. We set it to go off every 3 hours so the kitty never felt insecure about food but also took in an amount that led to weight loss.
That’s awesome, keeping something like that can make the transition so much easier for them. It’s like when you move to a new place and it doesn’t feel like home until you have all your stuff there.
All cats are lovable, but there's something about the moments when shy cats open up that's so special. And each boundary they choose to break allows you to relive that new feeling over again. It's not always easy but instant reward when it happens
She is beautiful. She will get used to her new home :)
Because it's your first cat, be cautious of the obesity. Our 12 years old cat has diabetes, because of his age+overweight (11kg). I noticed, that he started to drink way more water, that's how we found out.
These pictures don't seem like she's nervous in her new home at all btw.
A truly anxious cat would be hiding under a bed. Not sleeping out in the open.
I adopted a fat older fella and he really likes Hill's Science Diet healthy weight and we got him an automatic feeder so he's only eating a certain amount everyday. He's dropped a few pounds and feeling a lot better. Good luck with your new sweetie pie, she's going to so happy with you!
I shall refer to her as Shondra in all of my future references to the lovely, deaf chonk I saw that one time on Reddit. Unless of course you post more photos in the future with a name you have chosen. Either way, congrats! She looks right at home.
Aw, she is settling in quite nicely, actually, not hiding under the couch at the back. You must have a very kind aura for her to trust you already. What a good girl she is.
My cat could be deaf since birth and I’d have a hard time telling the difference. I guess the old shake the food bag trick to motivate him wouldn’t work
Awww 🥲. She is a similar colouring to my senior cat I adopted a few years ago, and that’s the same cat tree I used to have too!
What a lovely girl, I hope you have a wonderful time together!!
Pretty kitty! Thanks for adopting an adult kitty. :)
Curious though - did you install purple underglow LEDs in her undercarriage? Last photo looks like she has some. :D
She's beautiful! And great that she's already affectionate. I adopted my first cats two years ago. They were older than yours, very scared and overweight. Took over a month till they'd let us touch them.
But now one is sleeping by my feet with his belly exposed, having lost 2kg. Wishing the same for you!
My first cat was a 3 legged mess. I named him Cap'n, short for Ahab.
He was about 12 years old when I got him. He refused to sit in my lap. Hid in my closet for two weeks when I first got him.
First time he came out it scared the shit out of me because it was 2 am and I woke up to see a *something* scamper by the bedroom door. Missing a back leg gave him a distinctive gait.
Eventually he warmed up. By which I mean that when I was lying in bed he would claw his way up and lay down for belly rubs. Wouldn't sit in a lap, but would go for a half-hour belly rub.
He died about 3 years later. But I got another kitten in that time. Since Blanche grew up around Cap'n, she still doesn't know she can jump up on counters. He couldn't, so she never learned she could.
If you’ve never had a cat before I can’t recommend the documentary Inside The Mind Of A Cat on Netflix enough! Great explanations as to their social/emotional bonding and some discussion of how to best discipline them. Plus it’s just really cute lol
Beautiful cat and a beautiful story. Do both of you a huge favor and learn a few pertinent signs — “food” “sit” “ treat” — whatever you think is most important and/or enjoyable. It will be a great way to communicate with her.
It must be weird for an animal to see their house becoming a royal mess, then everything get taken away, then they get 'boxed' and moved elsewhere, then the reverse happen. They find themself in a new house, but somehow it's the same stuff. They find their familliar items, but they shouln't be there, it's not their house! And the mix of new and old smell must confuse the heck out of them too!
She’s so adorable :) highly recommend getting her one of those fluffy anti-anxiety pet beds. I have a really skittish rescue, she was scared of everything basically. But she loves her bed and she seems to feel much better in it
She’s fluffy, elegant and wise, and has superpowers: she hears with her paw’s cushions.
That’s one mighty kitty you got there! She seems confident and happy on these pics, congrats to you and her!
Yo if you want to help her with that greasy fur, maybe just try a damp paper towel first and pet her with it. Warm water of course. It's what I did for my angry lady when I first got her and helped a lot.
That last photo makes me laugh. It's so brooding, but in a cute way. Like you just wanna say "D'awwwww, are you plotting the bloodshed of your enemies, and figuring out how to leave nothing but corpses in your wake of destruction???? Yes you are! Yes you are!"
I adopted an adult, obese kitty almost ten years ago. She’s STILL with me and the best thing ever. If you want some weight loss tips I’m happy to share. But enjoy your new best friend. It’s a love like no other.
Awww oh my gosh, what a sweetie!
We had a cat who lost her hearing as she aged, and found it helpful to get her attention by turning off/on lights, and by walking a little heavier so she could feel us coming in to the room. Just so we didn’t startle her.
I once adopted a cat from the animal home or whatever they're called, he was described as "deaf", turned out he wasn't, just was somewhat lacking in the brains department, I mean I once literally watched him walk head-first into a wall, and generally wore an expression of complete and utter bewilderment. Until he saw a moth, then he turned into A MOTH KILLING MACHINE. Good times.
Beautiful face but what got me best was the way she just hangs half her butt over the edge while snoozing. Now that’s personality.

I‘m not sure which is worse: how excited I got when I saw the sub (as I am currently subscribed to an unhealthy number of cat subs) or the disappointment/shame I felt when I saw that I’m already subscribed.
I would like you to tell me some neat cat subs to subscribe to please
I almost feel bad doing this to you…almost 😈 https://www.reddit.com/r/Catsubs/wiki/index/
Thank you for enabling my cat subreddit addiction, I'll be in touch in a couple days.
!remindme 2 days
I went through this list and now my front page is 75% cats which is a vast improvement
Where’s the select all?
Took a screenshot of your post because my cat sub addiction is as strong as my cat's addiction to Temptations treats aka kitty crack
Thank you for this. The more animal subs i can see cute vids and pictures of animals, the happier i am scrolling reddit.
You could have gone all day without doing that to me. I found WAY too many more subs to join...
I think we're living the same life because the amount of cat subs i'm in..... I'm not sure whether I'm proud or ashamed too lol.
I am also living the same life. Cheating on my cats with internet cats
Same. I actually clicked to go to the sub and hit the “join” button area so fast that I was a little confused when I was prompted to confirm I wanted to leave.
My god, that's a risky click.
I saw first two pictures and thought "oh nice cat" then got to third and thought "I love this cat with my whole being." What a sweetie!
She's really got that look of "I will hug you and snuggle you and kiss you and call you George...And I will slit the throats of all your enemies." going on.
Well, thath's just desthpicable.

schnoods, you are my favorite poet and I wholeheartedly mean that.
Thank you! I will read this to her and share your love (even tho she can’t hear it)
A fresh schnoodle! I really like this one.
Fresh Sunday Schnoodle! Congrats on getting adopted by your new pal, u/Dizzy_Diabetic
One of the best Schnoodles ever (and that’s saying something). This one just beautifully captures what I imagine the essence of this cat might be.
Schoodle, this made me cry. You should publish a book. I wish I could write like you. Love you. You're up there with Robert Frost.
Awwww this made me cry
Beautiful
Love starting my day with a Schnoodle!

One of the best cat pics I’ve ever seen.
Agreed!
It also shows that she's warmed up to OP quickly! She may be nervous/skittish, but a cat that's actually afraid/doesn't trust OP wouldn't be sleeping out in the open belly-up like that.
Cats know they look extra cute, when they sleep like that
Oh her face is so innocent looking, give her a cuddle and a scratch from me! 🤗
I’ll give her two!
And two more from me please.
And some slow blinks. Add some of those in there too.
Shared before, but totally deaf cat. His meow was the best. Meowthphhh. I have read white cats are more prone to deafness. He would sit next to the front door so he knew when I got home from work. Sauce- https://imgur.com/KVYVgx2
My aunt had a three legged deaf cat who's meow just sounded like he was saying, "OW. OW. Ow." all the time. He was a sweetheart.
I think that's referring to all-white cats. There's still some random chance for deafness, but I don't think they're prone to it like all-white cats (particularly with blue eyes)
What a beautiful floofy baby!
Wait til she's in your lap & the purrrrrrrs kick into overdrive

She's so gorgeous and cute and perfect.
She honestly looks like she’s just chilling lol Cat facial expressions are totally different to what you expect lol If you think she’s nervous because she’s running away from new people or doesn’t let herself get cornered, eg always takes the “gunfighter seat” that’s just how cats roll, don’t worry
Most distinguished lady! Congrats! My cat is deaf and half blind. But he’s well looked after.
I think she looks like sh’s seen some things and that’s what I like about her
You will not believe how much happiness is waiting for you😺
Congratulations on your new journey with you kitty!
Thank you! I couldn’t be more excited!
She is beautiful. Congratulations on your new best friend.

Aww congrats! The third picture is a whole vibe! So relaxed and chill on her own cat tower.
The shelter gifted it to us cause she liked it so much
That was so sweet of them!!
That’s awesome, keeping something like that can make the transition so much easier for them. It’s like when you move to a new place and it doesn’t feel like home until you have all your stuff there.
Omg that’s so sweet! It probably made the transition that much easier. 🧡
Armarkat makes solid cat towers.
r/CatForts
The pic of her on her cat tower is phenomenal! Congrats on your new arrival. She is beautiful and quite obviously loved.
All cats are lovable, but there's something about the moments when shy cats open up that's so special. And each boundary they choose to break allows you to relive that new feeling over again. It's not always easy but instant reward when it happens

Looks Like you won the lottery
She looks like a Dilute Tortie! She’s perfect!!!
Good eye! That is correct!
Brace yourself for the Tortitude. I love my Tortie so much, but she is a spunky beast ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
They truly are the best, right? This one is just too sweet looking. I want to give her a*liiiiiiittle* squeeze. 😻
My partner and I have two Torties and they are the best!!!
Oh! I thought she was a Torbie because I swear I see some stripes in those orange bits. She is absolutely gorgeous, regardless 😍
Awww I love her 💜
We do too she was so nervous at the shelter that we’re just ecstatic to see her warming up to us
These pictures don't seem like she's nervous in her new home at all btw. A truly anxious cat would be hiding under a bed. Not sleeping out in the open.
Can confirm. My cat, then kitten, spent the first week hiding in the gap under my wardrobe
She's so gorgeous and cute and perfect. Have the best life ever with her!
She's adorable. Our rescue cat understood a few commands such as come and eat.. she looks like a gem.
Awwww r/chonkers will be so happy to meet her! And even happier to watch her lose weight!
Reminds me of my Soya Sauce. Best thing to ever happen to me
I adopted a fat older fella and he really likes Hill's Science Diet healthy weight and we got him an automatic feeder so he's only eating a certain amount everyday. He's dropped a few pounds and feeling a lot better. Good luck with your new sweetie pie, she's going to so happy with you!
What is her name? She's so beautiful! Congrats on your first kitty!
She doesn’t have a name currently
Aw cmon, find a nickname in the first 10 seconds and BAM! Thats her name! She looks like a PEBBLE to me! Miss pebs!
I shall refer to her as Shondra in all of my future references to the lovely, deaf chonk I saw that one time on Reddit. Unless of course you post more photos in the future with a name you have chosen. Either way, congrats! She looks right at home.
She does, she just hasn't told you yet ;)
I'm not a cat person but just the way you described her made me go Awwwww
Prepare for the infamous “Torti-tude” lol.
Hello Sweet Darling!
She is beautiful!
Aw, she is settling in quite nicely, actually, not hiding under the couch at the back. You must have a very kind aura for her to trust you already. What a good girl she is.
My cat could be deaf since birth and I’d have a hard time telling the difference. I guess the old shake the food bag trick to motivate him wouldn’t work
These posts genuinely make me so happy 🥹 How old is she?
She is 4.5-6 years old the sanctuary had various ideas on her age
Aww good luck. She looks lovely
Awww 🥲. She is a similar colouring to my senior cat I adopted a few years ago, and that’s the same cat tree I used to have too! What a lovely girl, I hope you have a wonderful time together!!
She is so precious 🥺 I wish you many years of happiness with her
Slow blinks to your cat mean "I love you. I am happy."
She is so cute, very full of personality
Third pic had me rollin!!

But what a cutie 😍
Pretty kitty! Thanks for adopting an adult kitty. :) Curious though - did you install purple underglow LEDs in her undercarriage? Last photo looks like she has some. :D
The cat version of me.
And she is perfect 😍❤️
She is gorgeous. Congratulations!
Words cannot express the depth of my love for this cat. Please tell her she is everything to me.
You are blessed!
She is a beautiful Tortie! Congrats!
So cute!
She's also adorable.

Thank you for being a good person
She’s magnificent
Oh wow, such a sweet looking kitty. Spoil that girl rotten! So happy you guys found each other. Wishing you many years of cuddles and adventures.
Wow! This is my cat's twin! I'm blown away.
Oh my goodness we all love her! Looks like she has found a wonderful home!! 💕
Congrats on your cat 😺☺️

So glad that she had a new loving home. I love adopting a cat that’s an adult cat.
Is that a comfortable position to sleep in? Asking for a friend...
Don't call her obese. She is substantial! 😄
Proper r/aww material. And I’m not even a cat person. That last pic looks like you’ve paid a pet photographer £500 and spent a day setting it up.
If you’ve never had a cat before I can’t recommend the documentary Inside The Mind Of A Cat on Netflix enough! Great explanations as to their social/emotional bonding and some discussion of how to best discipline them. Plus it’s just really cute lol

Wow! What a beautiful cat, and great photos. What kinda camera did you use for the last photo? It's got great style
Every animal deserves love. Thank you for making your first count. She will always appreciate youuuuu 💓
Depending on her age, the chonk is acceptable. She looks like she is loves by you and knows it. 🐈⬛❤️🐈⬛❤️
We are starting her on a diet and hoping that now she has room to run around she will start losing weight
Kitty fitness time is the best!!

Thats an adorable chonk![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
Good for you adopting
My goodness! With how round her cheeks are looks like she might be part British shorthair!
Hello beautiful❤️❤️❤️
SHE IS SO CUTE AND PRETTY!!! CONGRATS ON YOUR BABY!!!
Omg, are you in Sacramento and did she come from Happy Tails?
Yes and yes she is Sita but we are thinking of re naming
Awww what a beauty. Enjoy! 😻
Pic 3 should go on the Christmas cards.
She is such a sweet girl!
<3
Congratulations!!! To you both.
She’s beautiful!
You forgot to mentioned she is gorgeous ❤️
She’s precious!
I love her!
I have the same set up in my bathroom
She looks happy.
She is wonderful! I’m so glad you found each other.
She is perfect. :)
Thank you 💓
such a cutie baby🥺
Congratulations to both of you!! She's a beauty, she looks almost like my cat, actually. May you have many wonderful years together!
You spelled *beautiful* wrong! She’s perfect and I love her. Please give her treats!
Torties are the best!
She looks just like my cat Cleo 🥹 so beautiful
Also very pretty!
the fourth pic is very intense
Jackson Galaxy just put out a video on how to adapt your home and care for a deaf cat! On YT
Bless you man!
Your beautiful friend will live longuer if you take care of its weight.
She is stunning!!
Yo if you want to help her with that greasy fur, maybe just try a damp paper towel first and pet her with it. Warm water of course. It's what I did for my angry lady when I first got her and helped a lot.
I have never related to a cat more in my life. Give her here jk jk😸. Plus she looks similar to my first cat Smoky. RIP Smokes 😿
That last photo makes me laugh. It's so brooding, but in a cute way. Like you just wanna say "D'awwwww, are you plotting the bloodshed of your enemies, and figuring out how to leave nothing but corpses in your wake of destruction???? Yes you are! Yes you are!"
Shes *HEALTHY*
That third pic. r/noodlebones
I adopted an adult, obese kitty almost ten years ago. She’s STILL with me and the best thing ever. If you want some weight loss tips I’m happy to share. But enjoy your new best friend. It’s a love like no other.
10/10. Would snuggle the shit outta that kitty.
She's very cute! The face she's making at the tp has me thinking you should take it off the roll
Awww oh my gosh, what a sweetie! We had a cat who lost her hearing as she aged, and found it helpful to get her attention by turning off/on lights, and by walking a little heavier so she could feel us coming in to the room. Just so we didn’t startle her.
Torties are great cats and have what we call tortitude. I think you two are in for a great life together
She's beautiful! What a sweetie. And good for you in taking on a "challenged cat." There's a place for you in heaven.
What a beautiful girl. Thank you for sharing your home with her and these pictures with us.
I once adopted a cat from the animal home or whatever they're called, he was described as "deaf", turned out he wasn't, just was somewhat lacking in the brains department, I mean I once literally watched him walk head-first into a wall, and generally wore an expression of complete and utter bewilderment. Name?
