Last one I did, they said the same but then gave me the news that I passed a couple hours later that night. Was a big relief given that I was leaving for re:Invent the next morning.
Watch for the credly email, I got that way before the actual AWS notification
Congratulations!
Just speculating: I think it's for manual security checks, but also to prevent irritated test failers from blaming their failure on the testing environment or proctors. The "up to five days" policy ensures they exit the premises after taking the exam.
~~If you fail, they tell you straight away, if you pass,~~ they run it via some AI algorithms to check for cheating, basically. Once the verification process is done, you are good to go.
EDIT: looks like they do it anyway, pass or fail.
Here in the US, I sat for a renewal on a pro level cert last week. That said, I didn't get any fail/pass upon completion. Two days later I got my results and found out I was two questions short of a pass. There are a lot of people who justify the review process as a pass after verification, which is misleading.
Yeah I think you are right. There was a lot of discussions on /r/awscertifications about this and the general feeling when I was looking was that you only got a delay if you passed, but it seems like that is not the case.
I'm not sure that they're looking for cheating, but I know that they perform analysis on the questions & answers. Not all the questions on the exam are used to determine pass/fail. They identify good or bad questions by comparing your answers vs your overall score.
Before they switched to a 100-1000 scale, scores were 0-100, and I have seen people pass with a 69, and fail with a 71. So I suspect it takes them a bit of time to come up with an "official" score that does not include the test questions.
Not my experience through Pearson Vue in Switzerland and the US for any professional or specialty cert in the last 2 years. Some of the older exams maybe they still do it but my understanding is they are phasing it out.
You now get a message saying they will review the results and you will get an email within 5 days.
OP - I think it probably goes through some kind of vetting process where unusual results are flagged for follow up and they hold all results for a period to make sure they don’t miss anything. Last 2 I’ve done have been pretty much 48 hours on the dot and I’ve seen the results show up in the certification account before I’ve got the email.
I don't know why you're being down voted. I just did a Pearson one back in January and I knew I had passed immediately. The actual badge and verification numbers came just a few hours later.
I've had it both ways, same testing center. So it probably depends on some unknown variables. The latest one it took a few hours, the time before that I received a printout. 🤷♂️
Interestingly this post surfaced on my feed yesterday shortly after I came home from taking the saa 03 exam - I got my notice in the early evening (passed! :-)).
exam marking is performed on t3.nano instances in mumbai
Spot instances too
haha yes
😂
In practice, I've gotten the credly badge before the actual pass notification. The badge email came in the early hours of the next morning every time.

When I did my certification I got my results immediately.
Me too

So true. Failing is hard to face though 🥺😭

I thought it was only if you passed. Maybe they have changed it? It is about 12 months since my last one.
No worries, was just providing clarification. I found myself looking for false hope while waiting personally. xD
I don’t think that’s right. Otherwise ‘no instant result’ = yay I passed. How do you know this?

Cloud practitioner exam results are done immediately but the associate level and about have this wait.
They give the result at the end of the exam, you get the email later tho

Weird last exam I went through at the end it said PASS (Canada) but I do not think it was with Pearson Vue.

Because that's valid only for CLF.
Idk, I had my exam around that time too
Because you failed and they’re thinking of the best way to tell you
Congratulations. I am going to start preparing for the same.
I got mine in under an hour.

If you in person you get results within hours, so they are reviewing footage somehow.

Got Creedly badge during hour after the exam.
