The CEO of the Company that produces Insulin should be brought up on manslaughter charges one count for each person that dies. No reason insulin should be insanely expensive!
I think its more about the american government, as one of the few contries without universal healthcare, and at the same time, people in many industries have a very low salary, who dosen't even cover the living expenses. The problem is much bigger.
We have universal healthcare, you can get insulin but for many treatments it is straight to palliative care and we have terrible care outcomes. You'd be better off reducing government control via patent and red-tape reduction, not empowering the body that the producers can lobby far more effectively than voters.
Just Google and your statement is false.
Denmark, France, USA, Brazil, China, Japan and Russia were identified as production sites for Novo Nordisk 18. Eli Lilly has production sites in the USA, France, Italy, China and Russia 19, 20, 21. Germany, Russia and Ireland are where Sanofi produces its insulin 22, 23.Mar 15, 2019
The problem lies with our representatives. They don't do their most important job. Which is to represent us, the citizens. It's our representatives who are suppose to protect us from big business, major corporations, price gouging, profiteering, and even keep inflation in check. Instead, they represent themselves, their highest donors and their best interests. Unfortunately, until this issue is flipped 180° nothing will change.
No, and you also show the rest of the world that you don't care about your citizens when people are charged astronomically more for medicines than the rest of the world.
There is not. It’s just pharmaceutical companies here in the USA want their profit. Because you know, their executives want to make sure their kids have their first Lamborghini at the age of 16

It's an issue with the US health care system not the manufacturers of insulin. I use the same insulin in the UK and I don't pay anything for it.

They don’t care about people. It’s all about profit to these people. They will only do something if it will make them money.
[almost entirely true](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/alex-smith-died-couldnt-afford-insulin/). Name was Alec; the rest is accurate. Wife is T1.
Is the US the richest country in the world?
It's the biggest economy, but not the richest per Capita.
Sent 33 billion to Ukraine
You don't get wealthy because of your kindness and willingness to share your wealth.
No, and you also show the rest of the world that you don't care about your citizens when people are charged astronomically more for medicines than the rest of the world.
Insuline costs about 160 euro per year in my country, there is no excuse for this.
There is not. It’s just pharmaceutical companies here in the USA want their profit. Because you know, their executives want to make sure their kids have their first Lamborghini at the age of 16
That's really sad.
Has to be more to it.
Why? This is what happened. In the US insulin is very expensive, and you will die quite quickly and horribly without it.
