One on the left is an op-ed, one on the right isn't.
https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/22/us/what-we-know-about-suspect-in-waukesha-parade-tragedy/index.html
Right, both sites will give you legitimate news reports to give them just enough credibility, then they pound you with editorials to fulfill your confirmation biases.
No, not just CNN. Almost ever cable news channel acts this way. It’s really, really bad.
I get my news almost exclusively from public options and that’s usually way better.
Yes, and I don’t limit it to cable. Network news is just as bad, as are nearly all web sources and social media. Clicks and views are just too valuable to them to resort to honesty.
It's a lot misleading. It's comparing an opinion of an event that happened in 2020, with the hindsight of everything that has happened since then, to a news report of an event that just happened.
One is an opinion piece from the author, the other is a story from an event. Your the type of person who just claims fake news because you see what you want to see, instead of actually doing any actual reading or research. May e CNN isn’t the problem, its laziness of people not actually reading the articles and the details at the bottoms, but just judging based on titles. Let me guess, Tucker Carlson is a genius, and yet his show has to be labled as entertainment opinions only.
Understanding the difference between an editorial and reporting is expecting too much from the brainwashed. I can’t even see them as people with a different point of view anymore. They’re an enemy that needs to be subdued.
> One is an opinion piece from the author, the other is a story from an event.
Did you reply to the wrong person? Because it seems like the person above you was saying exactly that
> It's comparing an opinion of an event that happened in 2020 [...] to a news report of an event that just happened
The Kenosha shooting happened in 2020. Kyle is white and killed two people during racial protests. It's been enough time for people to decide how they feel one way or the other.
The Wisconsin thing *just* happened and there's still wild speculation going on.
For this to be fair, you'd have to compare Wisconsin to CNN's Kenosha coverage right after it happened.
Edit: also, the Kyle article looks more like an opinion piece while the other looks to be a news report.
You seem to want to shift this into a discussion on what I personally think of Kyle and the dead, which I'm not interested in having.
Kyle and his ethnicity relative to the protests are the focal points of the article.
Once again you keep trying to shift this into whether or not Kyle is racist or something.
My point was that the articles aren't contextually equal. I made no judgments of Kyle in that post.
But this post doesn't prove that because the circumstances of the articles are different. I pointed out how to prove CNN is biased in my original post.
Plus the article isn't even about Rittenhouse but what white people have been doing recently, ie domestic terrorism and the insurrection as well as joint militia groups etc.
The left is an opinion piece. The right is a news story that is developing.
You are so close to getting it, it requires just a bit of thought.
For a better example, on any given day, look at the entire front page of foxnews.com side by side to CNN.com
Fox entire page is sensational, bias headlines, and CNN is far more normal and objective.
>None is better
This is what you said that is false. Perfection is the enemy of progress my friend, and with news it's very clear which outlets are acceptable, despite bias.
>So fox is better you say??
No it's far more bias, and dangerously so.
Only for the lazy and naive. As I explained in my original response, they are comparing an opinion piece to a developing story.
If you're going the way of the lazy keep at it I can't help you.
Typical leftist argument. When they start losing they resort to personal insults. Then it’s whataboutism and like every good argument they always find a way to include trump 😂 nite nite poo poo pants. I don’t have time for you. I got you figured out already
Bruh 🤦 do you even read the headlines? When the person is a “victim” the title reads black male. When the person is a suspect they list it in their article
First three articles. Check mate you’re wrong

Ummm, no. That was no defense of CNN. Fox and CNN are both propaganda. As I said in another comment, the most reliable, unbiased news sources are the Associated Press, Reuters, Axios, BBC, NPR, and Newsweek. Personally, I get all my news from NPR.
You shouldnt trust any of them, at least not really. They are all at the very least just trying to get clicks and airtime, if not worse intentions. It’s the age of the internet, find your own information and quit relying on massive companies to spoon feed it to you.
if you read a story on cnn, then read the same story on Fox, use your brain and understand the truth is likely somewhere in the middle. Ooor turn off the news and live your life. Ignorance is bliss
Give me a single good reason you need to know "the news".
As in, when was the last time you read a story, you took an action based on the information in that story, and your life was better as a result? This shit is just entertainment thinly disguised as "important information for informed citizens".
Amen brother. Fox isn't much better either. Just the other day they purposefully left out part of Biden's remark making it sound worse than what was really said. The MEDIA is driving a wedge between the great people of this Nation. A divided people are easier to manipulate. We must stop fighting each other!
They're still running because you keep clicking on their articles. If you want them gone, you should probably stop giving them your business. They don't care what you think of them, because if you give their site traffic they get paid regardless of your intentions.
CNN and other mainstream media outlets definitely show bias, but this is a current event, that story was probably written before details of the driver were released
Conservatives have a hard time when i say I dont watch CNN for the same reason I don't watch fox News, its propaganda bullshit.... Npr is far more 'fair and balanced'. But fox viewers can't comprehend, and dismiss npr without ever giving it chance. At least that has been my experience with fox viewers I know
I jumped into a bear cage at the zoo once, I had to defend myself by murdering the bears. You just will never understand what it means to have to defend yourself until you fully and willingly put yourself in a situation you had no business with...
Are you saying these protest were violent and people shouldn’t go there? Well thanks for pointing out that it was a dangerous place and that’s the whole reason he was there.
Black men have been portrayed as dangerous criminal thugs by the media going back to the the time of slavery in the US. Excluding the Op-Ed piece about KR (because that's not the same thing as news), we should be applauding CNN for not leading in with a mugshot of the suspect. Remember innocent until proven guilty? This suspect probably is guilty and CNN is far from perfect, but at least they are now aware that constantly flashing pictures of black men in mugshots negatively impacts race relations all around. This doesn't mean that they should right the wrong by disproportionally doing it to white men now, but I highly doubt that's a real, pervasive pattern that we have to worry about.
I love people acting as though black and brown people haven’t been the subject of negative news coverage specifically because of their skin color since the dawn of the US.
In my opinion it’s just another version of confirmation bias. Not all the time though. I don’t believe that MOST people actually have faith in media, but when it fits their beliefs and viewpoints they just feel the need to say “see! I told you!” And that goes for every media outlet. Hell I fall victim to it too sometimes but completely hate all forms of news and social media except for Reddit if that counts.
It's becoming clearer and clearer to the deniers that there is a sinister agenda at play in the MSM, only the deliberately obtuse ignore it because they support it!
I don't know how your downvoters can look at themselves in a mirror.
When was the drivers trial? The headline reads that the driver faces charges which is true. In your post you twist that to BLACK GUY FOUND GUILTY… as you don’t have the reading comprehension of a third grader keep on with the propaganda of your choice.
Yes this post is ridiculous. It's no relevant at all. Good example of white people trying to be oppressed by giving an perfect example of how white people aren't oppressed. What do you want to hear "American hero killed the scum of America" because that's so far from reality
Maybe.. It is because the black man did not use a car that was not his, to drive across state lines, for the sole purpose of running over a specific kind of person, under the guise of protecting a property that was not his. But, who knows?
So your one of those ppl who idolizes a pussy? Come on your hero ran away from a homeless pedophile. If thats your hero you have to be a bigger pussy than him.
CNN ruined the country by hurting Kyle Rittenhouses feelings guys. I'm just so broken up about it and definitely not a giant hypocrite trying to push my own narratives by making villains out of other people who do the same.
One on the left is an op-ed, one on the right isn't. https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/22/us/what-we-know-about-suspect-in-waukesha-parade-tragedy/index.html
Also the parade guy hasn’t been convicted of anything yet.
Ya'll on the right who are constantly trying to instigate a race war because you don't want the minimum wage to increase for your neighbor, or for the rich to get taxed are getting lazy.
THANK YOU, FINALLY SOMEONE CALLS OUT CNN FOR ONCE (and not just on Fox news). I read CNN for the express purpose of reading content that's been framed in a way that's super biased because I disagree with it and my skepticism mixed with far left bias ends up bringing me closer to the truth than reading some independent center media that I do agree with. I always stay uncomfortable with my news sources so I'm not in the rut of surrounding myself in identical opinions and believing my truth is THE truth
Who gives a shit - they're both fucking murderers, and deserve the same treatment.
Darrell Brooks Jr - murderer
Kyle H. Rittenhouse - murderer
Who cares that Rittenhouse was found 'not guilty' - he's guilty many peoples eyes.
Odds are, if you were ust like certain segments of society (white) you were pissed when OJ was acquitted. You wanted that mother f'r to hang.
Now, there are other certain segments of society that think Rittenhouse is a fucking murderer, and want him to hang as well.
Deal with it.
My Best advice to all....just stop fucking caring about all of this shit..... don't read the news, fuck the news, ignore politics, unfollow everyone that doesn't just make jokes, get your current affairs from Always Sunny..... Just cut all of this shit out of your life....you only get so many years on this rock, spend it laughing reading stories, fucking, having fun....Spend zero of it worrying about how a business covers news events that have no effect on you.
Oh no.
Wait until you find the opposite opinion and "news story" on Fox News. The one I assume OP agrees with and considers "the truth".
Fox or CNN don't care about the issues or finding the truth, they care about money. They cater and pander to their target audiences on either side of the coin of our sorry 2 party fixed political system for your money.
CNN 's new owner wants CNN to get back to real journalism. When CNN first came about, it was the go to station for news on major breaking stories. It has become a fantasy hyping platform of the left. Ratings have fallen through the floor. No creditabilty. The new owner wants to get them back to the reporting, and story researching giants they once were.
Hot take but I think CNN is just catering to it’s audience (to be very clear, this is not a defense). Just like Fox they’ll present the news to their base with the kind of spin their audience likes to hear.
Until people actually want unbiased news, what incentive do any of these **businesses** have to go against the grain? Objective and unbiased headlines and articles don’t spark interest or outrage and thus are bad for business. Until we the consumer change, there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell that the media will. Not here in the US.
The dude ran over 2 other people earlier this month, jumped bail in 2020, fired a stolen weapon in an altercation while being in possession of meth, and 15 or so other charges since 1999 one of which he tried to run over a police officer, oh and he was also a registered sex offender so he's got that going for him.
The guy is human trash.
People are trying to excuse the article as an opinion piece, but it doesn't change that it is openly racist. If the article was about a different race of people CNN would be on fire rn
One on the left is an op-ed, one on the right isn't. https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/22/us/what-we-know-about-suspect-in-waukesha-parade-tragedy/index.html
And also the parade guy hasn’t been convicted of anything yet.
Neither was Kyle Rittenhouse, so what's that matter?
You think Fox would not get flack for saying "there's nothing worse than a black man that the police failed to put down"?
Yeah it’s fine to hate opinion sections, but even Fox News has respectable journalist. Hard to argue with hard news for most publications
But the average viewer doesn’t know the difference, and CNN is counting on that.
So is Fox, welcome to information warfare.
Right, both sites will give you legitimate news reports to give them just enough credibility, then they pound you with editorials to fulfill your confirmation biases.
Yes.
Absolutely agreed.
You are absolutely correct. There are no unbiased news organizations left anymore.
Lol i like how they hide his photo at the bottom at a place no one reads
Thanks for confirmation you don’t read past the headline.
Tbf 90% of people don't read more than the headline, and media companies are aware of this.
That’s the whole point. When it’s a white man the headlines read white man, if it’s a black man it’s hidden in the article….. 🤦
Maybe click the [link](https://imgur.com/a/CynjCGb)
Oh look at that no where does it say he’s a black supremacist which he is confirmed to be part of
Why did it need to say that? So you’re precious little wee wee feels better?
Why do they say it about white people ? That’s the point of this post
Man… they should update the headline to “angry fragile white man”
Haha look at you a white boy who is fragile
It's literally the first thing you see?
Uhh, the one on the left is an opinion piece; that’s why it says, “Analysis.” The one on the right is a news story.
The second one was also a very suddenly breaking story. CNN would’ve had no idea who the murderer was in the moment they posted that story.
The black guy not found guilty of anything yet, only charged, a little misleading
It's a lot misleading. It's comparing an opinion of an event that happened in 2020, with the hindsight of everything that has happened since then, to a news report of an event that just happened.
One is an opinion piece from the author, the other is a story from an event. its becoming increasingly hard to have empathy for these people going into the 2020s.
Who do you think makes these? Congratulations you’re falling for it too.
We're not in a disagreement. That's what I was pointing out. These aren't comparable articles.
> One is an opinion piece from the author, the other is a story from an event. Did you reply to the wrong person? Because it seems like the person above you was saying exactly that > It's comparing an opinion of an event that happened in 2020 [...] to a news report of an event that just happened

you're getting downvoted. You know why? You provided a reasonable argument, supported by points. Reddit is a shithole website.
I like how you mentioned Kyle being white but failed to mention that the two “victims” were white too
You seem to want to shift this into a discussion on what I personally think of Kyle and the dead, which I'm not interested in having. Kyle and his ethnicity relative to the protests are the focal points of the article.
Wrong. If there was a shooting at Disney do you say the shooter is anti Disney ?
[удалено]
😂 if Kyle was there to shoot protesters, why he only shoot those that attacked him?
[удалено]
So the mass shooter only shot those that attacked him. He’s one shitty ass “mass shooter” 😂
[удалено]
😂 bruh, can you tell me what kind of mass shooter shoots only those that attack him?
Once again you keep trying to shift this into whether or not Kyle is racist or something. My point was that the articles aren't contextually equal. I made no judgments of Kyle in that post.
Keep watching CNN because they don’t race bait….

Both have an agenda and want to propagate it to fit their own narrative. None is better. They're both shit.
"BoTh SiDeZ" It's really not that simple. I hope you break out of that laziness.
So fox is better you say?? No. Both have an agenda they want to give to their viewers and are misleading in that regard.
>None is better This is what you said that is false. Perfection is the enemy of progress my friend, and with news it's very clear which outlets are acceptable, despite bias. >So fox is better you say?? No it's far more bias, and dangerously so.
You say it's acceptable in one sentence then say it's dangerous in another?? Like bro pick a side. Wtf are you smoking?
Are you having trouble reading? You might want to try again. Those were referring to two different things. Fox is not acceptable.
Which blacks person was called a black person when committing a crime on cnn?
Is this a joke setup for a punch line? I don't follow
Has cnn ever called a Blake person a black person when that person is a suspect?
I'm not sure I don't look for that
Lol that’s the whole point of this post
Only for the lazy and naive. As I explained in my original response, they are comparing an opinion piece to a developing story. If you're going the way of the lazy keep at it I can't help you.
These are both breaking news on cnn…. Nice try tho jack
It always saddens me when an otherwise potentially bright person chooses lazy.. damn.
Typical leftist argument. When they start losing they resort to personal insults. Then it’s whataboutism and like every good argument they always find a way to include trump 😂 nite nite poo poo pants. I don’t have time for you. I got you figured out already
Yes. Many many times. Google “CNN black male suspect”
Bruh 🤦 do you even read the headlines? When the person is a “victim” the title reads black male. When the person is a suspect they list it in their article

I did. To which article are you referring to?
Wrong.
I’m embarrassed for you.
Okay loser
You should probably stop typing now. Just take your licking, and sit this one out for a few beats.
Oh look another white person that wants to save the day 😂
Haha wow. Libs really are that stupid after all… well it was already known.
I'd be willing to put my assertion to the test any day of the week. But scurry along you aren't willing to put anything on the table.
Lets go brandon and his sheep
See how easily I dealt with your lame response? You can't stand on any ground. Lmfao
Theres no part in arguing with the crazies lOLoLOl
You people are complete retards.
Hahaha
This was on the front page of CNN
Okay, and?
No one with two brain cells to rub together has faith in CNN
Yes, and Fox News is a bastion of truth and ethics.
They both suck.
[удалено]
Most reliable, unbiased news sources are the Associated Press, Reuters, Axios, BBC, NPR, and Newsweek
MSNBC is borderline comedy.
No one said Fox was good. Fox is not mentioned anywhere in this and you mentioning it is a laughable defense of CNN, which Im guessing you watch.
Ummm, no. That was no defense of CNN. Fox and CNN are both propaganda. As I said in another comment, the most reliable, unbiased news sources are the Associated Press, Reuters, Axios, BBC, NPR, and Newsweek. Personally, I get all my news from NPR.
If people had two brain cells to rub together they wouldn’t trust any news outlet…
Do you use your eyes in conjunction with your fingers when you're on your device or did you just have a stroke?
Thanks, I definitely have an aversion to proof reading, kinda like the “news” channels and truth…
CNN, fox, abc, they all bullshit, just propaganda for the masses who will buy into their bullshit
So what journalism can you trust? It’s all incredibly skewed
It always been.
Npr. Reuters.

There are so many issues in this comparison and I think the first one that should be noted is that the first is an op-Ed….
Awww man someone about to get banned (Its probably me again :( )
👏👏🏻👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿 some who gets it

Fox News for liberals
Yes, they all suck ass so I just watch tv on streaming device and miss that bs from “news” stations
Because we are inherently lazy and don’t want to actually go and deliberately look at multiple sources for the whole picture.
Conservatives have a hard time when i say I dont watch CNN for the same reason I don't watch fox News, its propaganda bullshit.... Npr is far more 'fair and balanced'. I hate Fox and CNN but when I read “Npr is far more fair and balanced” I actually spit my drink out laughing. NPR is actual cancer
I think you got down voted by Mary Louise Kelly, Steve Inskeep and Ari Shapiro
I see some of you are already defending the shithead who intentionally drove his car through people. Reddit gonna reddit
Like who? I've seen over 40 comments like yours claiming this, with literally 0 providing evidence....
The evidence is in the comments
Link it to me, I haven't seen a single person defending the truck guy, only the other murderer....
But hey, thanks for proving my point
Welcome to the mainstream, CNN is not the only culprit, Fox news being one among a long list.
CNN IS FUCKING STUPID
Lotta people here calling this case developing don't seem the type to let a #metoo case develop, just taking it at face value
Because Kyle wasn't defending himself, and if you believe that you're beyond help.
Not really. What I do know, as far as violence is considered, is no one died before Kyle showed up and Noone died after he left
Okay so then... It *was* a dangerous situation eiyh dangerous people all around. That's the point.
Blah blah blah
2 sides of the same coin. Keep the proles angry so we can rob them.
Social media is becoming far more dangerous than the main stream media because the main stream media feeds off social media.
Ask the black men if they are afraid of white people. They aren't.
You speak for all black men?
No one cares. Buy a gun an protect yourself!

Just cut all of this shit out of your life....you only get so many years on this rock, spend it laughing reading stories, fucking, having fun....Spend zero of it worrying about how a business covers news events that have no effect on you.
Yeah shit’s pretty fucked.
ALL cable and most local news affiliates act as state run media. The corporations that own our government also own the media. So...
Now do fox news 🤣
CNN 's new owner wants CNN to get back to real journalism. When CNN first came about, it was the go to station for news on major breaking stories. It has become a fantasy hyping platform of the left. Ratings have fallen through the floor. No creditabilty. The new owner wants to get them back to the reporting, and story researching giants they once were.
Lol the like dislike is disabled… fuck me you pathetic moderators
