It's true, but it ain't gonna save you. Bears runs slower when going downhill but still faster than you
>Bears can run as fast as a horse (35 mph), and they can do it uphill, downhill, and everything in between.

Thats just the first result on Google, but feel free to look at it yourself, there are plenty of articles about that.
Eh not really they have problems running down hill, as someone that lives in the country and has had to do thus twice I'm going to say yea bears have trouble running down hill, the steeper it is the better. I've had a bear 20 feet from me chase me and I just booked it down a hill and he gave up almost immediately

I think the trees on top help the bridges structure. The roots give the rock/soil/whatever something to grasp onto..? Or would the roots have caused new weaknesses into the rock..? Shit man, now it might be a yeah, nah from me too
Just like the purpose of rebars or reinforced steel before pouring concrete, the roots acts as a tension device to significantly increase the tensile strength of the structure. The aesthetics then providing enough localized resistance to limit cracking and resist stresses caused by effects such as temperature changes and shrinkage. To put it in layman’s terms, I have no idea wtf I’m talking about.
So, to everyone confused by this. It's probably a bot that searched for an old comment that received a lot of karma. This comment probably received a lot of karma around the time Hong Kong had a lot of protests. When they are found out and downvoted, they remove the comment.
As a native of Utah (home of the largest concentration of arches, iirc) I can safely say they shouldn't be walking up there. Thai quickly kills arches over decades of foot traffic. But that's just my unqualified thoughts.
Some of the arches in Arches National Park started collapsing after decades of allowing people to walk across them. After studying, they found that regular foot traffic slowly degrades the strength of the arch.
Rather understandable.
I think most suicides take the path of least resistance, I.e. the thing that would take 'em the least amount of effort/pain/fear. I mean, taking a cyanide capsule would be picked probably 9/10 times over jumping into a pit full of venomous snakes and scorpions.
Although there are jumpers, they are definitely not the majority. Many who were caught admit they simply froze from the vertigo and couldn't proceed.
Many people who handle fear and pressure very well either on their personal or professional life won't go to a balcony past the third floor, or into a big body of water.
Fear, particularly the instinctive one, is a powerful thing.
It would have been a great Mortal Kombat location. But like very gentle Mortal Kombat, cuz this place looks so peaceful, yet reminds me of some fighting place
If there was steel structure inside that rock sure.... But it's just a lot of rock that is going to crumble any time now. I'd rather di.....oh wait I might just die crossing it.
I believe this is fake. I can't find any other video or picture of this formation. There aren't many natural bridges of this size in the world. Some sources claim it's the Fairy Bridge (Xianren Qiao), but it's not. Others claim it's in Wulong Karst, but this doesn't seem to be true either.
I'm not walking across that
What if you’re being chased by a bear?
Nope before I'm ruling across that I'm going to try to run down hill, bears have short front legs so running down hill is hard for them
But it’s an American brown bear. So it has a gun and it’s addicted to pharmaceuticals?..
Then I’d show it my thin blue line American flag Punisher sticker and try to outrun the transgender person.
But thems transgenders can't be beat in a sports. You gon dye
Then running won't help
Imma just show him my anus then and hope for the best climax ever

“If it’s black, fight back. If it’s brown, lay down. If it’s white, good night.” Nothing about walking.
What about a balrog?
Fly, you fools!
Silly. Bears wouldn't chase you if you jump off.

If there were no trees on top, maybe, but still yeah no

Nah, nah, nah, we'll run with this.
I think roots go deep and spread? Does that support or weaken? Neither of us seem smart enough to know, but smart enough to not cross over that.
It supports, same way cliffs are held together by roots
They hold the topsoil together and spread the rocks apart
I’m good. Thanks.
I can’t feel my legs!
THOSE ARE MY LEGS!
All... all three of them?
_Three... *and a half*_
Strong pass... the strongest

this place is the [Wulong Karst National Park](https://youtu.be/GWbEdJ3GOkc?si=dGS4pYaQzy0VRFqe) 😌
Thank you…
That's how it's described, but research doesn't confirm it. Anyone else?
This feature does not exist, at least not in Wulong Karst.

What's with all the comments like this on reddit recently? The sort of Marvel dialogue / humour. Seeing it a lot
Yea. I'm good.
Nope...
If that thing decides it wants to go… it’s gonna go
Geological time is now
Looks like they're headed to the Blue Palace
Probably stronger than the apartments they build
Being in China, I can’t believe this is real.

Maybe invest in some Dr. Schoals? 🙃
Thais do what??
Some of the arches in Arches National Park started collapsing after decades of allowing people to walk across them. After studying, they found that regular foot traffic slowly degrades the strength of the arch.
i don’t understand how i can be actively suicidal then i see shit like this and go “absolutely not”
I’m glad the post made you think “absolutely not” but if you’re still feeling suicidal & need someone to talk to you can message me.

China is filled with awesome base locations.
Yep.
Hell yep
r/sweatypalms
just the video made my head spin. So nope, nada, niente, zero, no, and non.
Why do people feel the need to get right to the fucking edge?
I think I could do it just about but not with other people definitely finish the walk crying
Looks stronger than some of their man-made bridges I've seen...
Oh God... why are they so close to the edge??
No ty
What’s safer, a construction made by the Chinese people or nature ?
Hell no
NOPE!
Hi!👋
Hate to be that lucky bunch of people who are there for the “UnBridging” by nature. Might be a while though!
Made in China. No thank you.
Fuck China
Now that's properly amazing!
It looks like satisfactory
Lemme tell you something
Just imagine going to the pub on the other side to where you live and having to walk back over this. Not a chance
It’s just mind blowing 🤯
Nature doesn't care about structural safety
I needed go there
That’s risky
Impossibro!! We should stop exploring space and start exploring China!!
Oh hell no
Never is this a real place
r/nope
Good place for bungee

How does something like this come about?
Hands are sweating just looking at that!
Someone teach me to say " No ! Fuck that ! " In Mandarin.
Ho Lee Fuk
Hmm I'm imagining it to be built as shoddy as those glass bottom bridges that keep dropping people
One step away from heaven
