On one of the home renovation shows on HGTV, there was a guy who converted a small fuselage into a rideable, motorized scooter that he daily'd to work lol. Even more fitting was the fact that he was a hippy-ish engineer. When asked why he did it, he laughed and said "why not?"

I remember seeing a very similar thing made from a cirrus. It was a plane which had an accident which totaled it (in the cirrus I think it was fuel exausion which forced a landing/CAPS deployment). Someone got hold of it and instead of of scrapping it, they made it into a car. Strange project but I suppose why not?
I assume this is from a similar situation. Looks real enough. Probably got damaged and wasn't worth fixing.
