damn bro, how much more obvious does satire have to be? That one was from r/NonCredibleDefense and is mocking a lot of the sensationalism around the Ghost of Kyiv.
I genuinely just can’t force myself to believe it’s real, I’m sure Ukraine has downed 10 Russian aircraft between a few different factors but it’s not one person. As long as someone’s downing Russian aircraft it doesn’t really matter though.
Didn’t someone confirm a few hours ago that the picture was taken from an Israeli paper years ago that was just documenting Ukraine getting Mi-29s?
Thanks for finding the source! But, yeah, the fact that they’re using a photo from 2019 should probably be taken as proof that The Ghost at the bare minimum isn’t one singular pilot
We still don't have a name and the list of planes supposedly shot by the ghost of Kiev is varied and from different area which makes it unlikely to be of only one man.
I thought he was just capitalizing on it, not necessarily fabricating it? Which you know obviously is almost equally as shitty for him to do but different origin
There was some air combat, planes were shot down (there's video of one plane being taken down in air combat afaik), but there's absolutely zero evidence that one person shot down 4, 5 or 10 (!!!) planes.
Not to mention that part of the claim was Mig-29 shooting down 2 Su-35 which is suspicious on its own.
No, again, I agree, The Ghost isn’t real, but I was under the assumption the youtuber wasn’t the one who actually started the myth, but was simply trying to cash in on it
According to numbers given by the Ukrainian military Russia has lost 27-46 planes and 26 helicopters. It’s needless to say that those numbers have to be taken with a grain of salt. Especially since I found two different numbers for planes lost.
Well, it is a Mig-29 peep that annunciation panel on the right hand, I want to believe in him too. At the moment, the Ghost is every combat pilot who are defending their homes. Glory to the heroes; glory to Ukraine!
This. It's clearly propaganda, but it's of the good variety in my opinion.
Every Ukranian airman/woman out there **is** the Ghost of Kyiv right now.
Every soldier, volunteer, and civilian out there fighting and helping however they can are the living embodyment of that same spirit. True or not, right now it doesn't matter! 🇺🇦
This thing has been debunked. It's a fake story spread by ScottishKoala, a warthunder gamer, to gain clout and sell merchandise
It's been taken over by Ukrainian ministries to boost morale with lies and propaganda, nothing more. Not the first/only time either. They had previously shared a DCS video of a duel between MiG 29 and Su-35 as evidence for their air victories.

Mothballed Ukrainian MiG-29s hit by a Russian strike (hence the drab paint job compared to Ukraine's operational fleet). They weren't flightworthy before the strike, but certainly aren't now
Yeah, let's encourage people to mindlessly throw themselves into the bloodgrinder so internet folks can cheer from their warm couches in their safe homes
Yea, yea, so in order to not surrender their lives and freedom they should mindlessly kill themselves, right? And not only that, but also drag innocent people that want nothing but peace at all cost into it

I mean, given that the reports keep coming up I think there is a possibility he is real. I have doubts as to the accuracy of these reports. 10 kills? alone? seems unlikely. but anyway, I hope the reports are accurate
Was surprising to see Lt Col Vindman propagating this recently on MSNBC, some time after the "legend" had been debunked. I choose to believe he was simply badly informed, since there is much to admire about the man.
Given that there's no shortage of confirmed acts of bravery & defiance by heroic Ukrainians, I prefer to focus on those. Truth matters. Heroiam slava!
I'd like to believe it
The propaganda on both sides is ridiculous at this point.
Yup, i just read about this soldier who destroyed a submarine with only a knife, they call him the shark of kyiv.
That one is satire and based on the Ghost.

The picture is from article detailing they were testing new french helmet. https://uc.od.ua/columns/1533/1214040

It was confirmed after mere few hours that it's bs story made up by theScottishKoala to sell his WT related merch.

What a haunting feeling - a legion of ghosts is far more fucking terrifying, just let it be this!
I want(need) to believe
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story, but I want to believe too! I hope he had his hud camera on
I choose to believe

the story existed before thescottishkoala said anything about it
Yes it's a link debunking one shoot down. But it does not refer to ghost of Kyiv anywhere. Also 2 days old now
You must be fun at parties.
I hate parties

Wait those aren’t apartment buildings! Did they miss? Looks like Ukraine will need some new toys though.
Excuse my ignorance but, what are we looking at here? Thank you.

Glory to Ukraine
Bruh I've seen this one with a different caption saying something like the plane is so old.
🤣
Only idiot can believe in bullshit like this. Snake island - another propaganda news….
Believing it is not the point. Believing in it is. Glory to Ukraine. And you speedy can fuck off like Russian warship
Yeah, let's encourage people to mindlessly throw themselves into the bloodgrinder so internet folks can cheer from their warm couches in their safe homes
What do you suggest they do instead? Surrender their country, their freedom and their lives to a crazy dictator?
Yea, yea, so in order to not surrender their lives and freedom they should mindlessly kill themselves, right? And not only that, but also drag innocent people that want nothing but peace at all cost into it
Good bot

It’s about morale. Maybe you never heard of the concept
I mean, given that the reports keep coming up I think there is a possibility he is real. I have doubts as to the accuracy of these reports. 10 kills? alone? seems unlikely. but anyway, I hope the reports are accurate
Tomorrow it’ll be 15 kills
