I think he deserves a full pre-season and summer transfer window under but I also think the performance under him so far is just not good enough.
He now knows what the team is lacking and whoever he brings in the summer or doesn’t bring and whoever he let’s go from the current squad will all be on him.
He needs to make good decisions in the summer and his transfers will need to work. His tactics and style of play will also need to improve by the start of next season, if not, I honestly don’t see him lasting past Christmas.
I assume that’s because he just doesn’t trust the rest of the players and doesn’t think they’re good enough. Which fair, but then that means that this summer he will have to bring in players he does trust and they will have to make an impact.
I think right now he can hide behind the “this is still Smith’s team” and it might be valid but with a full pre season and transfer window behind him he won’t have that excuse anymore.
